Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a nuclear reactor with one in one Reactor pressure vessel housed core and one below this arranged trough-shaped structure for collecting the core in the case of Melt meltdown as well as one with the reactor pressure vessel the security case.
In the event of a meltdown, the requirement is raised that from a Meltdown should leak as little radioactive substances as possible; except the meltdown should solidify in the shortest possible time. It will difficult if the meltdown is not due to design reasons can spread over a large area. Regardless, the Crust formation of the meltdown the heat discharge. Also a hindrance is the oxygen content of the melt, which is its melting temperature increases, reduces their thermal conductivity and increases their volume.
Finally, it is advantageous for calculation and mastery if the meltdown in the most defined form possible from the reactor pressure flows out.
(Fig. 1).
passiver Weise abzuführen, und zwarThe invention has for its object to improve the situation mentioned in the above points:
For this purpose, the surface of the melt is enlarged in a manner known per se by upright prisms ( 1 ) in the trough-shaped structure ( 2 ) ( FIG. 1). What is new is the claim according to the invention to passively dissipate the heat by means of these prisms or similar openings produced in the melt

The hollow prisms survive the outflow of the melt by choice of material, possibly insulation ( 6 ), a cover ( 7 ) and sacrificial material inside ( 8 ), Fig. 2. If the latter is not water, the system is laid out so that it is either completely emptied or partially emptied before the entry of water from above and the rest of the sacrificial material does not interfere with the heat removal with water or the rest of the sacrificial material dissolves in the water and is rinsed out with it. The initial as well as long-term heat emission can be improved by inner, concentric prisms ( 9 ), optionally with a funnel ( 10 ); the prisms are supported on one another by support grids ( 11 ), the materials of which survive the impact of the melt for a sufficiently long time.
Sacrificial materials can be arranged outside the prisms in a manner known per se, the initial heat removal from the core support melt. What is new is the use of evaporating substances not only absorb a lot of heat, but also the meltdown crust break through, stir the meltdown itself and thus the heat intensify gift.
In this sense, lead can be used particularly advantageously since it due to its specific weight after condensation on the surface penetrate the melt again and so repeatedly for the be written heat dissipation process can be used.
Another new feature is the idea of removing oxygen from the melt. Gaseous and liquid, specifically light oxygen-consuming substances can penetrate into the melt due to their buoyancy through the crust, solid oxygen-consuming substances are added for this purpose space-filling sacrificial material or - in specifically light, on melting substances or in filling, specifically light, geometrically sufficiently large Container ( 12 ) embedded ( Fig. 3). The latter are designed so that they are either destroyed during the penetration process within the crust, e.g. B. by internal pressure, tearing open the crust ( 13 ), or at the latest within the meltdown ( 14 ) itself, for. B. by melting.
B. als graphitbeschichtete Uranpartikel (Fig. 3).The most complete possible implementation of solid, oxygen-consuming particles ( 15 ) in the melt is ensured by the addition of heavy metals to the particles, so that they receive approximately the specific weight of the melt. In a special form, the particles are designed so that they are sometimes lighter and sometimes heavier than the melt, in the simplest case z. B. as graphite-coated uranium particles ( Fig. 3).
A re-oxidation of reduced melt by the coolant is water not entirely preventable; by the rapid effect achieved according to the invention Heat discharge with crust formation and subsequent heat transfer through heat conduction with the thermal conductivity of metals However, transportation of oxygen to the interior is hampered.
B. aus Blei, Eisen, Zink oder Quarz, abgedeckt (Fig. 4).To evenly distribute the meltdown, the arrangement is covered entirely or below the upper part of the prisms ( 1 ) which are particularly protected there with a solid layer ( 16 ) which provides the meltdown with resistance which is sufficiently long for the distribution or by rapid formation of a crust by means of rapid Heat dissipation and the formation of a film of evaporating layer material hampered further local penetration of the meltdown and thus promoted the spread. As a further measure, the area where an escape of the melt is to be expected with granular material ( 17 ), for. B. of lead, iron, zinc or quartz, covered ( Fig. 4).
In order not to impede the further course of the cooling by the various substances added, provided that these do not disappear due to evaporation according to the invention, an extractor ( 18 ) is provided for this ( FIG. 4). Even if this should not be possible, the heat output is improved by the sum of the devices according to the invention.
In the embodiment according to the invention, the insulation ( 19 ) of the lower spherical cap ( 20 ) of the RPV is predominantly made with a material that is bare metal, but melts at temperatures slightly above the RPV operating temperature (e.g. - possibly coated - zinc). At the point at which the RPV dome ( 20 ) should preferably melt, the insulation ( 21 ) is also made of bare metal, with a melting point equal to or higher than that of the RPV ( Fig. 4). Alternatively, the RPV is surrounded by water before the melt emerges, only not at the target melting point - From cover by a sheet ( 22 ), Fig. 5th
In a special embodiment of the ideas according to the invention, the meltdown in existing pressurized water reactors (DWR) could be carried out as follows ( FIG. 5):
- - Abdeckung des untersten Teils des RDB (20) durch ein Blech (22) zur Verhinderung der Kühlung mit Wasser (gezielte Schwächung)- Covering the lowest part of the RPV ( 20 ) by a sheet ( 22 ) to prevent cooling with water (targeted weakening)
B. um 600 mm),- raising the insulation ( 19 ) lying on the concrete pit (e.g. by 600 mm),
B. 600 mm) in den Beton (23) eingesenkt, der Beton wird hier als Opfermaterial verwendet - Arrangement from the top, open at the side laterally, below closed ge empty pipes ( 1 ) under the insulation ( 19 ); these are additionally sunk (e.g. 600 mm) into the concrete ( 23 ), the concrete is used here as sacrificial material
B. eine Schicht Zink (oben) (24) und eine Schicht Lithiumhydrid (unten) (25)-Insert additional sacrificial material over the concrete, e.g. B. a layer of zinc (top) ( 24 ) and a layer of lithium hydride (bottom) ( 25 )
- - Verknüpfung der Rohre durch zwei hochtemperaturbeständige Gitter (11) unter der Isolierung und über dem Beton, dort soweit konstruk tiv möglich- Linking the pipes through two high temperature resistant grilles ( 11 ) under the insulation and over the concrete, where constructively possible
- - Verknüpfung der Rohre durch zur Mitte hin fallende, flexibel ver legte, durch das obere Gitter und zusätzliche Abdeckbleche mecha nisch geschützte Verbindungsrohre (26)- Connection of the pipes by flexible pipes that fall towards the center and are mechanically protected by the upper grille and additional cover plates ( 26 )
- - Anbindung der äußeren Rohre an Wasser-Reservoire (3)/(5), deren Vorrat ausreicht, das ganze Gebäude bis etwa zum Zylinderansatz des RDB zu fluten- Connection of the outer pipes to water reservoirs ( 3 ) / ( 5 ), the supply of which is sufficient to flood the entire building up to approximately the cylinder base of the RPV
- - Rücklauf von Wasser, das am Reaktorsicherheitsbehälter konden siert, über diese Reservoire oder über zusätzliche Öffnungen (4) im aufgehenden Beton, die durch Hitzeeinwirkung aufschmelzen- Return of water that condenses on the reactor containment vessel, through these reservoirs or through additional openings ( 4 ) in the rising concrete, which melt due to the action of heat
B. durch Hitze) der Zulaufrohre- Inlet from the water to the pipes ( 1 ) only if necessary by active opening (especially secured, accident-proof fittings) or by passive opening (e.g. by heat) of the inlet pipes
- - Nutzung der vorhandenen Druckentlastungsöffnung als Überlauf (18); falls damit zu rechnen ist, daß auch ein Teil der Kernschmel ze überläuft, Anordnung von Wasserzulauf-Rohren unter dem Ober lauf (zur Verhinderung einer Absenkung) und ggf. zusätzlicher Leer rohre der beschriebenen Art jenseits des Oberlaufs, in der Ausfüh rung jedoch kürzer, ohne Deckel, ohne Wasserzufuhr (nur Sumpf wasser von oben) und mit geringerer Verankerung im Beton.- Use of the existing pressure relief opening as an overflow ( 18 ); if it is to be expected that part of the meltdown will overflow, arrangement of water inlet pipes under the upper run (to prevent a lowering) and, if necessary, additional empty pipes of the type described beyond the upper run, but shorter in execution, without cover, without water supply (only sump water from above) and with less anchoring in the concrete.
