Abstract

The lace-up boot has opposite upper edge sections (2) pulled together by the lace (1) to fit against the foot. An adjustable belt (9) has components engaging opposite lace-up points (4, 5) to pull them tight and secure them in a selected position. It can be arranged to engage in loops in the lace so that, on release, the latter is loosened sufficiently to allow the boot to be fitted or removed.
