Description
The invention relates to a wing or control surface for aircraft, which is wholly or partially composed of boxes, the longitudinal axis of which when used as a wing runs in the direction of the lateral extension of the surface, and consists in that each box is used as a carrier the same bending strength formed in such a way that it can receive the allotted to it part of the total load of the surface itself. Sets to say parallel to Einspannquerschnitt the wing at a certain distance from this one layer and one considers the elastic X 5 deflections which each individual box experiences in this level under the part of the total load that is attributable to it, these deflections will be practically the same size among each other, and the assembled wing will, despite the assembly of individual boxes, still have an upper and lower surface that is not graded, rather, it is self-contained. Of course we are d so that any slight differences are compensated in the elastic bending of the individual cases but the individual Kä- 2 S sten not speak loosely be adjacent to each other, but rather a regular basis the boxes together. Such a tack connection, however, does not transfer the entire load of one box to another, the latter being or acting in the manner of a spar. Since each box takes up its part of the total load and only minor differences remain, for example due to structural inaccuracies or sudden shifts of the center of pressure with strong inclinations, only these differences are to be transmitted and compensated for by the stitching connection, so that this is very little stressed will. Such a tack connection can now be carried out in such a way that rivets or screws lying in the direction of flight are sunk transversely to the lateral extension of the wing, and are therefore withdrawn from the draft, so that the air resistance of the surface is not increased. In particular, edges lying inwardly opposite one another can be formed on the boxes, in which the connecting means are arranged perpendicular to the connecting plane.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiments in the drawing, in Fig. 1 a cross section through a wing according to the invention in Scheme and Fig. 2 a perspective view with broken parts of the wing reproduces.
In Abb. In Fig. Ι are α to ß 10 sections through boxes made of durable and lightweight material, such as. B. aluminum, duralumin or other suitable alloys, if necessary of different wall thicknesses. The box plates of the appropriate width have a length that is equal to the wing span. The side walls of the boxes! lie against each other and are conveniently pinned together, so that you can carry through the adjacent boxes. area of a desired profile. (The box α for the front edge of the wing can also consist of a bent sheet metal that is riveted to the next box.
Wie die Zeichnung erkennen läßt, ändern sich die Abmessungen der Kästen entsprechend dem gewünschten Tragflächenprofil, wodurch auch die Widerstandsmomente der Kästen geändert werden, und zwar derart, daßAs the drawing shows, the dimensions of the boxes change accordingly the desired wing profile, which also reduces the drag moments of the Boxes are changed in such a way that
For example, a box at a point of greater load also has a greater moment of resistance than a box with a lower individual load, i.e. in the vicinity of the front | its or rear edge of the wing; I it is known that the total load over the entire wing cross-section according to. distributed around a curve, the height of the arrow is highest in the front third, while ίο the practical load is zero at the front and rear edge. Now, in order to provide · \ the individual boxes for itself with sufficient Biegungswidarstand, the Seat walls can; are fully executed, but they can also be perforated, if this allows the stress on the box and thereby a lightening of the construction is achieved.
As can be seen in Fig. 2, the individual boxes can also be made from U-shaped metal sheets at the top and bottom, which are connected to the side walls. To connect the boxes to one another, rivets c can be provided, which are pulled through the bent edges of the metal sheets and are pulled through the side walls d of the boxes at the same time, thereby removing them from the draft; be pulled.
The stabilizing surface / is expediently also made from boxes, the longitudinal extension of which is parallel to the axis of rotation and the drive shaft g of which is expediently passed through the interior of the supporting surface.
.A suitable box can also be designed, for example in the front third of the wing, in such a way that container h for the fuel or the like can be accommodated in it. In order to easily install these containers and take out, is the box sheet lying above the container bite 0 made removable and designed so that they can i reach the bolt easily, by means of which the movable part of a ° with the other walls of the box connected is. For this purpose, the shell-like depressions shown in Fig. 2 have been provided, in which these connecting links are inserted, whereupon the depressions can be covered by strips not shown. Such an assembled wing is to be preferred to those which have a frame covered with fabric, and also to those in which the wing is also composed of boxes, but which do not run through the longitudinal extension of the wing rather, they are subdivided transversely to this direction, so that each connecting plane between such box parts also represents a plane in which the bending moments are to be transmitted. In the case of a wing according to the invention, in contrast to these known designs, the box goes through over the entire span, and there is no weakened connection point. The assembly of the boxes is also very simple, since the connecting elements likewise do not have to transmit any bending stresses of such magnitude as occur in known designs, but only to compensate for the difference between the deflections mentioned at the beginning; they are therefore mainly only subjected to shearing, and this to a small extent. Furthermore, a body of the same flexural strength is obtained in this way despite its composition of boxes, and the resistance on the outer surface is not increased by rivet heads. The joints between the individual boxes can also be soldered or otherwise smoothly filled, or the entire surface can be enamelled if necessary. .
The basic idea of the invention can of course also one otherwise be performed as described herein with reference to the embodiments.
