Description
In the patent application DE 38 35 348 A1 there is a fuel additive for spark ignition internal combustion engines, especially for Use of unleaded gasoline described by a Mixture of n-heptane, water, iso-butanol and ethanol is marked. This fuel additive is for Two-stroke engines determined and as such can be up to 4% in Contain mixture of soluble lubricating oil or one Two-stroke mixture can be added.
For spark-ignition internal combustion engines, as far as they are intended for motor vehicles, the use of ethanol in petrol admixture has been known for a long time, but leads to cold start difficulties, often phase separation, since the water tolerance can be insufficient depending on the amount of alcohol and also to deviations in boiling behavior. Although ethanol increases the octane number and causes a reduction in the HC and CO values in the exhaust gas, the NO x content of the exhaust gas increases significantly. It is known from EP 0 162 122 B to use gasoline / ethanol / water mixtures as fuels, with isobutanol being added as the phase mediator. DE 32 11 775 A discloses fuel mixtures of gasoline, 10 to 50% by volume of ethanol and 1 to 10% by volume of water. DE 31 43 654 A describes fuels made from 45 to 98.5% by weight gasoline, 1 to 40% by weight ethanol hydrate (water content 1 to 20% by weight) and 0.5 to 15% by weight. a phase mediator from butanol and acetone known. Finally, DE 33 30 165 C discloses an engine fuel made from super or normal fuel which, as an additive, contains 2 to 10 vol.% Ethanol (approx. 95% with approx. 5% water), 0.5 to 5 vol. % Butanol and 0.5 to 5 vol .-% methanol contains. This prior art also shows that such motor fuels only meet the DIN requirement 51600 to be considered here with very small additional amounts.
The present invention now relates to a fuel additive for two-stroke engines, for which this DIN requirement is of lesser importance, but where it is particularly important to at least not increase the NO x content in addition to reducing the HC and CO content, and above all to significantly reduce the content of carcinogenic polycycles.
It has been found that a fuel additive from 55 to 90% by volume ethanol, 99%, 5 to 10% by volume n-heptane, up to 5 vol .-% water and 10 to 45 vol .-% in addition and in eventual two-stroke mixture of soluble lubricant gives better results in terms of exhaust gas values than this is the state of the art and the one specified at the beginning older proposal can.
This addition, which is used in such an amount that a Fuel / oil ratio of about 1:50 not noticeable is below, preferably contains as a lubricant a carboxylic acid ester, e.g. B. a suitable one Dicarboxylic acid ester, which is sufficiently water and is alcohol-soluble. An amount of lubricant from 15 to 30 vol .-% is preferred, with an amount of 20 to 25% by volume is particularly preferred.
In the case of ethanol, amounts of 60 to 80% by volume are preferred, quantities around 70% by volume are particularly preferred. The The amount of heptane is added to the amount that may be used Petrol of the two-stroke mixture of heptane present and is preferably 6 to 8 vol .-%, in particular 6 to 7 vol%.
The water to be used, from traces to maximum 5 vol .-% can, of course, also from the ethanol originate if instead of 99% ethanol a usual approx. 95% ethanol is used, which in an amount up to 90% then approx. 4.5 vol.% with the upper limit Alcohol introduced would mean ethanol. At the same time this means at the lower limit of the alcohol additive a minimum amount even when using 99% alcohol 0.5% water by volume.
As already mentioned, in the present fuel additive lubricant soluble in the mixture, which means that the lubricating oil is sufficiently water and alcohol soluble must be, both in addition and especially then in final two-stroke mixture to be soluble. The expression "Soluble in water and alcohol" does not mean that full miscibility across all mixing ratios must exist.
The ratio of fuel additive to fuel is like this set that an oil / fuel ratio of 1:25 to 1:75, preferably a ratio of 1:50 is not significantly undercut, d. H. e.g. B. an addition of approx. 10% to regular gasoline. But it can also in considerably higher or lower amounts are added, which depends on the respective engine types, for which yes always certain guidelines regarding lubricating oil in the Two-stroke fuel are mandatory.
In principle, a very low oil becomes too Preferred fuel ratio, e.g. B. 1:50 to 1:40, each after how the engine can handle this.
Accordingly, the addition can have a composition of for example 22% by volume oil, approx. 70% by volume ethanol, approx. 7% by volume n-heptane and approx. 1 vol.% water (some of which consists of ethanol) in a chain saw in an amount of 9 up to 10 vol .-%, based on the final two-stroke mixture, be added, d. H. in an amount of 100 ml additive per 1 gasoline (approx. 9%) up to an amount of 100 ml additive per 900 ml petrol, in an oil to fuel ratio of 1:50 to 1:40 if the motor of this saw for low lubricating oil Two-stroke mixtures is suitable. The fuel additive is suitable not only for leaded or unleaded regular gasoline and of course for any kind of super, but can also with low-octane gasoline from approx. 55 to 60 octane be used.
Das folgende Beispiel erläutert die Erfindung:The following example explains the invention:
A fuel additive was made by adding 220 ml of oil, 720 ml of 99% ethanol and 63 ml of n-heptane were mixed. In this way, about 7 ml of water were mixed with the ethanol brought in.
100 ml dieses Treibstoffzusatzes wurden mit 1 Liter Normalbenzin bleifrei gemischt, was ein Öl zu Kraftstoffverhältnis von 1 : 50 ergibt.100 ml of this fuel additive were mixed with 1 liter Regular gasoline mixed lead-free, which is an oil too Fuel ratio of 1:50 results.
This two-stroke mixture was used to operate a conventional chain saw with an output of 2.3 kw at n = 9500 min -1 , a run speed of n = 2500 min -1 with a maximum permissible speed of n = 1300 min -1 .
For comparison, the same chainsaw was used with the same unleaded regular petrol operated in a ratio of 1:50 was mixed with a commercially available two-stroke oil.
With the same operation under practical conditions, the engine setting was the same both times and corresponded to the manufacturer's instructions, with the fuel additive according to the invention the HC content was reduced by 47%, the CO content was reduced by 35%, and the NO x was reduced Content by 7% and a reduction in the content of polycycles by a total of 39%.
The following table shows exhaust gas measurements on a chain saw when operating with the fuel additive according to the invention ("Supral") and the fuel additive DE 38 35 348 A1 ("ZX 2000/4"), which come from the TÜV emissions report, listed together for clarity. The composition of the invention according fuel additive ("Supral") and the mixing ratio to a fuel correspond to those in Example 1. The composition of the fuel additive ("ZX 2000/4") corresponds to the object specified in DE 38 35 348 A1 (1st up to 15% n-heptane, 1 to 15% water, 0.5 to 4% iso-butanol and the rest Ethanol) and the mixing into a fuel was carried out according to the disclosure in DE 38 35 348 A1 (fuel: fuel additive = 1: 1).
The comparison between the fuel additives on the basis of the exhaust gas measurement values listed in the table makes it clear that the NO x content is at least not increased in comparison to normal fuel, the HC and CO content being significantly reduced. In addition, the fuel additive according to the invention (Supral) provides a significantly reduced NOx content in the exhaust gas compared to the fuel additive of DE 38 35 348 A1 (ZX 2000/4).
It was yet another try with one Fuel additive from 68 vol.% Ethanol 99%, 8 vol.% n-heptane, 4% by volume of additional water and 20% by volume Lubricant, also in an amount of 100 ml additive 1000 ml of unleaded regular gasoline carried out, again good results have been obtained.
