Abstract

The arrangement for measuring the water content of motor vehicle brake fluid has a measurement sensor consisting of two measurement rings mounted in plastic to form a capacitor which uses the brake fluid as a dielectric and which measures the variation in the dielectric constant caused by the water content variation. A negative temp. coefft. resistor integrated into the sensor compensates the variation of dielectric constant with temp.. The evaluation electronics can be a window discriminator, digital display or computer controller. USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicles. Has characteristic which can be altered to enable all brake fluids on market to be measured.
