Metalle mehr oder weniger stark an.Process for the production of alkali nitrates from alkali chlorides and
Nitric acid. It is known that alkali nitrates can be obtained from the corresponding alkali chlorides
and can produce nitric acid or nitrous gases. It always separates
only part of the alkali salt in solution in the form of solid nitrate,
while a large part of the alkali salt remains unchanged with the solution in circulation
is guided through the process. This nitric acid chloride solution attacks most
Metals more or less strongly.
It has now been shown that the material attack by the circulating
Solutions can significantly degrade if mzn part of the in circulation
Chlorides replaced by sulfate. As in the solutions in question after several times
Circulate completely under certain working (apparatus and temperature) conditions
establish certain equilibrium conditions, it does not matter in which
Form this one-time sulfate additive is made. So you can z. B. a corresponding
Add amount of free sulfuric acid or sulfate in the form of neutral sulfate
or of bisulfate, best of all: of the alkali metal to be processed. Of the
The addition of sulfate can also be varied within wide limits. The applicable
Incidentally, the mode of operation does not require any change compared to the previously customary one.
The absorption conditions are very similar for the sulfate-containing solutions and
the aniseed beetles are equally cheap or even better.
In diesem Falle
Here, too, it is possible to use completely or partially finished gas instead of nitrous gases
Use nitric acid, especially high concentrations. In this case
one has z. B. the particular advantage of sodium nitrate, with a single operation
to be able to convert much larger amounts of salt. The addition of sulfate has proven itself
both when working in a cycle and when working discontinuously,
in which the nitrate mother liquors with more or less complete distillation
be worked up.
In addition to the advantages mentioned, working with sulfate additives
allows a much greater freedom of movement in the entire process,
z. B. with regard to the temperature and concentration conditions to be observed.
Example: In i cbm of about 3% nitric acid, 165
kg of sodium sulfate dissolved. An excess of solid is added to the resulting solution
Table salt added and passing through a brisk stream of air for the purpose
As far as possible removal of the hydrochloric acid formed some
hours
stirred at about 5o °. The excess table salt is then sucked off and
the filtrate cooled to 18 to 20 °. Here, 80 to 100 kg practically separate
pure sodium nitrate, which is separated from the mother's length by filtration.
The resulting mother liquor can be used for a further operation
Renew by supplying it with nitrous gases or a (purely excreted nitrate
add equivalent amount of nitric acid, preferably in a highly concentrated form.
