Abstract
Description
The invention relates to stone protection agents which terminate alkoxysilane groups Contain polyurethanes, as well as the use of these Polyurethanes as water repellents in stone protection agents.
Physical, chemical and biological processes leading to destruction of stones, for example leaching, swelling, Frost effects and crystallizations of salts are caused by causes or accelerates the ingress of water. To reduce Water absorption has therefore been used in building protection for many years Organosilicon compounds as water repellents used (Farbe + Lack 95, 478 [1989]). Stones, in particular with alkoxyalkylsilanes, for example cyclohexenylethyl-triethoxysilane are impregnated compared to untreated stones significantly lower amounts of water. Through chemical coupling of the alkoxysilane groups, the hydrophobic alkyl radicals on the Stone surface fixed. The stones treated in this way are anti-adhesive, that is, further treatments, such as painting or setting a certain water vapor permeability, are not possible. Furthermore, alkoxyalkylsilanes can only in the presence of organic solvents, for example ethanol or Isopropanol can be used.
The object underlying the invention was therefore in Development of stone protection agents, the stones are both hydrophobic as well as imparting hydrophilic properties, so that on the one hand at least the reduction in water absorption achieved with alkoxyalkylsilanes is achieved, but on the other hand the possibility of subsequent To carry out treatments. Furthermore should the water vapor permeability due to the stone protection agents to be developed the stones are not significantly reduced. In contrast The stone protection agents to be developed are said to be alkoxyalkylsilanes can also be applied from aqueous solutions or aqueous dispersions be.
Surprisingly, it was found that the to be developed Stone protection agents placed high demands on stone protection agents the alkoxysilane group-terminated polyurethanes contain.

Another object of the invention is the use of alkoxysilane Group-terminated polyurethanes, manufactured according to the above multi-stage process, as a hydrophobizing agent in stone protection agents.
The synthesis of the polyurethanes terminated by alkoxysilane groups takes place gradually in the order given. After reaching the theoretical content of -N = C = O groups (abbreviated: theoretical NCO content) of the respective stage, the reaction mixture reacted with the next stage reagent. The term "Theoretical NCO content" means that all OH groups with -N = C = O groups (abbreviated: NCO groups) have reacted and thus no free OH groups are present in the reaction product are.
The alkoxysilane groups to be used according to the invention terminated Polyurethanes are manufactured in a manner known per se (Ullmanns Encyclopedia of Technical Chemistry, Volume 19, pages 302- 310, Verlag Chemie 1980). Polyethylene glycols with number average Molecular weights between 500 and 6000, if desired in Mixture with trimethylolpropane and / or dimethylolcarboxylic acids with 1 up to 6 carbon atoms are present, without solvent, if necessary in the presence of catalysts, for example dibutyltin dilaurate, with di- and / or triisocyanates at temperatures between 60 and 100 ° C implemented. This is related to the polyol components OH / NCO equivalent ratio between 1: 1.5 and 1: 2, preferably between 1: 1.8 and 1: 2. After reaching the theoretical NCO content of the reaction mixture at temperatures between 60 and 100 ° C hydrophobic di- and / or polyols added, the Equivalent ratio of the OH groups of the hydrophobic di- and / or Polyols to the remaining NCO groups between 1: 1.1 and 1:10, preferably between 1: 1.3 and 1: 5. After reaching of the theoretical NCO content are general alkoxysilanes Formula I added at temperatures between 50 and 70 ° C. Based alkoxy-aminoalkyl- are added to the remaining NCO equivalents. and / or alkoxymercaptoalkylsilanes used in equimolar amounts. After all the remaining NCO groups with the alkoxysilanes have reacted, the implementation is finished.
Polyethylene glycol free, alkoxysilane group terminated polyurethanes are also suitable for use in stone protection agents. In these Cases are hydrophobic di- and / or polyols without solvents, optionally in the presence of catalysts, for example Dibutyltin dilaurate, with di- and / or triisocyanates at temperatures implemented between 60 and 100 ° C. Based on the polyol components the OH / NCO equivalent ratio is between 1: 1.1 and 1: 2, preferably between 1: 1.5 and 1: 2. After reaching the theoretical NCO content is the reaction with alkoxysilanes in the way indicated above.
The resulting polyurethanes terminated with alkoxysilane groups are in the Room temperature, d. H. at temperatures between 15 and 25 ° C, waxy firm and have a white color.
For the production of polyurethanes terminated by alkoxysilane groups the aliphatic known from polyurethane chemistry are suitable and / or aromatic, cyclic and / or noncyclic di- and / or triisocyanates, for example dicyclohexylmethane-4,4'- diisocyanate, 1,6-hexane diisocyanate, 3-isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5- trimethylcyclohexyl isocyanate (isophorone diisocyanate), tetramethylene diisocyanates, Trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate, 1,4-phenylene diisocyanate, Diphenylmethane diisocyanates, toluene-2,4- and / or toluene- 2,6-diisocyanate, 2,4,4'-triisocyanatodiphenyl ether and / or 4 ′, 4 ′ ′ -, 4 ′ ′ ′ - triisocyanato-triphenylmethane. Are alkoxysilane groups containing polyethylene glycol Manufactured polyurethanes, the reactions of diisocyanates preferably with mixtures of polyethylene glycols with number averages the molecular weights between 500 and 6000, trimethylolpropane and optionally aliphatic dimethylol carboxylic acids with 1 up to 6 carbon atoms, particularly preferably with mixtures of polyethylene glycols with number average molecular weights between 500 and 2500, trimethylolpropane and optionally aliphatic dimethyl carboxylic acids carried out with 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
