Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the use of a non-precious metal Co-Ni-Cr-Mo / W alloy as material for with ceramic too veneered dentures.
Materials for dental prostheses to be veneered with ceramic are special requirements regarding biological Compatibility, mechanical properties and processing processability. So the alloys are supposed to be first Show problem-free melting behavior, so that bad castings in the Laboratory to be largely avoided. The alloys are said to furthermore a high accuracy of fit and good machining Ability and especially a low hardness to mechanical reworking by grinding, milling etc. to facilitate. Alloys are also required that are cheaper than the widespread ones Dental alloys with a high proportion of precious metals, but still have a similarly high corrosion resistance.
Because dental prostheses such as crowns, bridges and the like are made of are mostly veneered with ceramics for optical reasons, the alloys should adhere well to the baked on Have ceramics. To flake the ceramic or that To avoid the occurrence of jumps, it is necessary that the alloy is adapted to the ceramic to be fired Has expansion coefficient. Furthermore, it is required that the alloy does not discolor the applied Ceramic veneer causes.
In addition to all these technical or economic properties Licher nature must be an alloy suitable for dentures but also have a high level of physical tolerance. However, this point can often only be elaborate Long-term trials are assessed, some of them Rapid defects in the materials only after decades clear.
Precious metal-free alloys for dentures are, for example from the book by H. Weber: "Precious metal-free (NEM) Crowns, bridges and attachment prosthetics ", quintessential publisher GmbH, known in 1985. These are alloys based on nickel-chrome or cobalt-chrome.
However, there are some problems when using state-of-the-art non-precious alloys. When using alloys based on Ni-Cr, there are often concerns about body tolerance, as there is no sufficiently long clinical experience with these alloys. The problem with alloys based on Co-Cr is that they are generally significantly harder; most known Co-Cr alloys have hardness values <300 HV 10 .
It is therefore an object of the invention to burnable noble metal Free alloys for dental prostheses to indicate this Do not have disadvantages. In particular, they should have one high-gold alloys comparable precious metal have character and should be tolerated by the body be secured. The task is accomplished by using a Alloy dissolved according to claim 1. Advantageous next education is described in the subclaims.
The alloys according to the invention are Co-Ni-Cr-Mo-based alloys, the addition of Fe, Ti, Nb, Mn, Al and Si can contain, the Mo portion entirely or partially replaced by tungsten. Preferential the content of carbon impurities should not be wise be more than 0.1% by weight. The alloys are manufactured according to the ISO 5832 / 5-8 recommended among others as implant alloys len. These alloys are clinically proven, so their Body tolerance can be considered secured.
Surprisingly, it has now been found that the alloys according to the invention are also outstandingly suitable for use as a material for dental prostheses to be veneered with ceramic. The table shows the melting range, the hardness HV 10 and, as a measure of the corrosion resistance, the removal rate in "Green Death", a mixture with 7 vol.% H 2 SO 4 , 3 vol.% HCl, 1 vol. % Fe 3 Cl and 1 vol% CuCl 2 , listed at 80 ° C for different alloys. Alloys 1-6 are alloys according to the invention, alloys No. 8 and 9 are customary Ni-based bonding alloys according to the prior art, alloy No. 10 is a gold alloy containing alloy, alloy No. 11 is finally a widespread amalgam for a Pd-based alloy.
The alloys according to the invention have a melting range which is usually slightly above 1400 ° C. they can with the usual casting machines in the dental branch be melted. The fact that the invention Alloys do not contain easily oxidizable elements repeated casting possible without this with a Loss of quality would be associated.
With regard to the hardness HV 10 , the alloys according to the invention have values which are below the values of the precious metal-containing alloys listed for comparison. After the casting and firing of the ceramic, the alloys according to the invention should preferably have a hardness of not more than 240 HV 10 . The castings can be mechanically reworked without any problems.
To adapt to the coefficient of thermal expansion of the ceramic used for veneering, the alloys according to the invention preferably further have an expansion coefficient which is between 20 and 600 ° C. in the range from 14.0 × 10 -6 / K and 14.6 × 10 -6 / K.
The bending test according to DIN 13 927 shows for the fiction alloys have a high strength for the connection Metal / ceramic made. Jumps were made after both slow and even after rapid cooling from the firing temperature to the room temperature not observed.
The alloys according to the invention also have excellent corrosion resistance. To make the differences between the individual material types clearer, the removal rates at 80 ° C were determined in "Green Death". Even under these difficult conditions, which never occur in practice, the alloys according to the invention are still stable. As can be seen from the table, the removal rate in "green death" at a temperature of 80 ° C. is usually below 0.05 mg / dm 2 h. Even the alloy composition specified under No. 5 still has a removal rate of 5 mg / dm 2 h, a value that is about an order of magnitude lower than that of the noble metal-containing alloy based on Pd and amalgam. The Pd-based bonding alloy also shows a black coating. The noble metal-free baking alloys according to the prior art have even higher removal rates; in the case of the comparative alloy no. 8, pitting was even found.
As further proof of the high corrosion resistance and the noble metal character of the alloys according to the invention, the current density as a function of the potential in a NaCl electrolyte at a temperature of 22 ° C. is shown in the figure. Curve 1 represents the curve for an alloy according to the invention with a composition according to Example 1 of the table. For comparison, curve 2 shows the curve for the noble metal gold, curve 3 for a high gold alloy with a gold content of more than 75% and in Curve 4 shown for silver. A comparison of the curves shows that the potential values of the alloy according to the invention are at least comparable to those of gold or an alloy containing high gold and are considerably better than for silver. The corrosion resistance of the alloys according to the invention is thus at least as good as that of high gold-containing alloys and, despite their freedom from precious metals, they can be classified as noble.
