Abstract

The cylinder lock has a cylindrical core (4), fitted in a housing (1). The core has a central longitudinal slot with a contour to match the key. The core also has two rows of diametrally opposite holes (9,38) with each hole fitted with a spring-loaded locking pin (21). The locking pins are so dimensioned that, when the correct key is inserted, the pins are moved radially outwards to release the lock. The core has additional holes and locking pins aligned at 45 deg. to the axes of the main holes. The additional pins are disengaged by the sloping faces of the key.
