Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a centrifugal separator or Cyclone for an exhaust gas purification device Internal combustion engines, in particular for one Soot filtration device in the exhaust gas stream from Diesel engines, which in the preamble of Claim 1 defined genus.
In particular serving the soot filtration Exhaust gas cleaning devices for internal combustion engines the exhaust gas flow from the internal combustion engine is a so-called. Agglomerator supplied in which an electrostatic High voltage field is generated. The fine in the exhaust gas flow distributed soot becomes electrostatic in the high-voltage field charged and coagulated into larger agglomerates that due to their greater weight from the exhaust gas flow mechanically well can be eliminated. The the The so-called raw gas stream leading to agglomerates is the Centrifugal separator or cyclone with tangential Incoming flow direction. Due to the vortex flow in the The heavy agglomerates separate on the cyclone From the housing wall and get part of the Raw gas flow, the so-called particle-enriched Carrier gas flow, via the outlet into a soot bunker. The most of the raw gas flow is concentrated inside of the centrifugal separator as a so-called vortex core and flows largely free of soot and particles via the clean gas discharge from.
In a known centrifugal separator at the beginning mentioned type (DE 34 24 196 A1) is for collecting the deposited soot at the lower, open end of the housing Soot bunker arranged in which is from the carrier stream discharged soot settles. The soot bunker is partly with a built-in cone on which the vortex core of the Supports vortex flow and is thus prevented from to extract bunkered soot from the soot bunker.
The centrifugal separator according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that by the inventive design of the outlet Carrier gas flow is kept very small, preferably on one for the reliable discharge of the soot sufficient minimum quantity. At the same time, the Throttle cross section, especially if it is through a for the clean gas discharge coaxial, the vortex core enclosing annular gap is realized, the occurrence of Secondary and reverse flows that separate the Negatively affect agglomerates.
By the measures listed in the other claims are advantageous further developments and improvements of the Claim 1 specified centrifugal separator possible.
Es zeigen:The invention is illustrated in the drawing Exemplary embodiments in the description below explained in more detail. Show it:

The centrifugal separator to be seen in side view and partially cut away in FIG. 1 has a housing 10 which is composed of a cylindrical housing section 101 and a conical housing section 102 . The conical housing section 102 tapers starting from the cylindrical housing section 101 to the free housing end, which is open. The other end of the housing on the cylindrical housing section 101 is closed and is penetrated by a clean gas outlet 12 designed as a dip tube 11 . The dip tube 11 is arranged coaxially to the housing 10 and extends approximately over half of the cylindrical housing section 101 in order to end there freely. Above the end of the immersion tube 11 , a raw gas supply 13 opens into the cylindrical housing section 101 , via which a raw gas flow symbolized by arrow 14 with an inflow direction tangential to the housing 10 is fed to the centrifugal separator. Because of this tangential inflow direction, a vortex or swirl flow forms in the housing 10 , as a result of which the particle agglomerates contained in the raw gas stream are deposited on the housing wall and formed with part of the raw gas stream, the so-called carrier gas stream, via one at the open end of the conical housing section 102 Outlet 15 are discharged. The outlet 15 is designed as a throttle cross section, which is dimensioned such that the size of the carrier gas stream is smaller than 10% of the raw gas stream. To form the throttle cross-section, a built-in cone with a cone tip facing the immersion tube 11 is inserted into the open end of the conical housing section 102 in such a way that a coaxial annular throttle gap 20 is formed between the outer cone edge and the inner wall of the housing 10 .
The installation cone 16 can be designed in various ways and attached to the housing end. In a preferred embodiment, the installation cone 16 is formed as a sheet metal part, as shown in FIGS . 2 and 3. In FIG. 2, the mounting cone 16 'by means of three at the same distance on the cone edge arranged distributed tabs 17 secured to the outer surface of the conical housing portion 102, which can be done by means of welding spots. In the embodiment of FIGS . 3 and 4, the installation cone 16 '' is provided with a short cylindrical projection 18 on which three beads 19 are pronounced outwards. The beads 19 are evenly distributed over the circumference of the cylindrical projection 18 . The bead height corresponds to the desired throttle gap width. The end section 28 of the conical housing section 102 is widened to form a cylindrical ring. The installation cone 16 '' is inserted from below into the conical housing section 102 until the cylindrical projection 18 of the installation cone 16 '' and the cylindrical end section 28 of the housing section 102 lie opposite one another, the throttle gap 20 between the edge of the installation cone 16 'being provided by the beads 19 'And inner wall of the conical housing portion 102 is set. By welding spot the cylindrical projection 18 of the mounting cone 16 '' is connected to the cylindrical end portion 28 of the conical housing portion 102 .
As is apparent from Fig. 1, the housing 10 is attached an intermediate bunker 21 to the the mounting cone 16, 16 ', 16' 'up to the throttle gap 20 closed end in which the discharged with the carrier gas flow through the throttle gap 20 carbon temporarily deposited is then to be fed further with the carrier gas stream via a coaxial carrier gas discharge nozzle 22 to a disposal device, not shown. The intermediate bunker 21 surrounds the free end of the conical housing section 102 with a cylindrical jacket section 211 and merges into the carrier gas discharge nozzle 22 via a truncated cone-shaped jacket section 212 .
The centrifugal separator shown in FIG. 5 is modified compared to the centrifugal separator according to FIG. 1 with regard to the clean gas discharge 12 and the outlet 15 . The clean gas discharge 12 in turn consists of an immersion tube 23 which penetrates the closed housing end remote from the conical housing section 102 and which extends through the housing 10 to the housing end of the conical housing section 102 which is tapered in diameter. The dip tube 23 carries a cylinder end portion 24 which is formed larger in diameter than the diameter of the dip tube 23 and which is preferably integrally connected via a frusto-conical transition 25, with the dip tube 23rd The diameter of the cylinder section 24 is selected so that the throttle gap 20 with the desired throttle gap width is formed between the outer circumference of the diameter and the inner wall of the housing 10 at the housing end. The cylinder section 24 is supported on three webs of the housing 10 , which are angled inward at the housing end from the housing wall. The webs 26 to be seen in the detail of a development of the housing shell in FIG. 6 are arranged at the same distance from one another on the circumference and have a web width which corresponds to the desired gap width of the throttle gap 20 . The continuous immersion tube 23 is made of perforated or slotted sheet metal at least in the region of the conical housing section 102 , so that the clean gas flow which forms in the vortex core of the swirl flow can flow into the interior of the immersion tube via the holes or slots and can flow out from there in the direction of arrow 27 . At the housing end, an intermediate bunker 21 'is in turn arranged, which encloses the housing end in a cup shape and has a tangential carrier gas discharge nozzle 22 '.
In Fig. 7-10 a centrifugal separator with reverse flow is shown. The housing 30 , which can be seen in sections, is closed on both sides and is penetrated at the housing end opposite the tangential raw gas supply (not shown here) by an immersion tube 31 which opens freely into the housing interior at a distance from the closed end. The dip tube 31 passes through an intermediate bunker 21 '', which is formed by a coaxial to the dip tube 31 sleeve 32 , the end face of a bottom flange 33 , which is fixed between the sleeve 32 and the dip tube 31 , gas-tight and on the other hand by a cover flange 34th is covered, the throttle gap 20 '' with its inner rim surrounding the immersion tube 31 'releases the immersion tube jacket. The cover flange 34 is screwed to an end plate 38 , which closes the housing end and is welded to the housing jacket of the housing 30 , by means of screws 35 , which are indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 7. The end plate 38 has a coaxial through opening 36 which is substantially larger than the cross-section of the dip tube, so that the dip tube 31 can be passed through the end plate. The remaining cross section of the passage opening 36 is covered by the cover flange 34 , so that a connection between the interior of the housing and the intermediate bunker 21 '' is only provided by the outlet 15 designed as a throttle gap 20 ''. As can be seen from FIGS. 9 and 10, the immersion tube 31 is supported by three spacers 37 on the inner edge of the cover flange 34 . The spacers 37 are arranged evenly distributed over the circumference of the dip tube 31 and welded to it. The radial width of the spacers 37 is dimensioned in accordance with the desired throttle gap width. The intermediate bunker 21 '' has a tangential carrier gas discharge nozzle 22 ''. It is tubular and has a rectangular cross section in the transition region to the sleeve 32 , so that there is a double linear contact between the carrier gas discharge nozzle 22 '' and the sleeve 32 . The tangential carrier gas flow removal improves the transport of the separated particles, since the gas vortex existing in the centrifugal separator also continues into the intermediate bunker 21 ''. The clean gas stream emerging via the dip tube 31 is symbolized by arrow 27 .
