Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for storing and Playback of video signals, the image information in Video images is structured.
In der DE 36 13 343 A1 ist ein sogenannter Hybrid-Codie
rer beschrieben.
The main purpose of this encoder is to re-encode the video data coming from a video data source with as little information loss as possible into a signal with the lowest possible bit rate. Two coding principles - hence the name hybrid encoder - are used in this process:
the interframe principle, in which the correlation between temporally successive video images (this designation is used here for full and partial images) is used and
the intra-frame principle, in which the correlation of the video data within a video image is used.
Is used as a video data source e.g. B. currently uses a commercially available video camera, this provides image information that corresponds to a serial bitstorm of approximately 216 Mbit / s. The hybrid encoder mentioned reduces this bit rate by about a hundredth, that is to say around 2 Mbit / s. If such an encoder were used in the storage of conventional digitized video signals, the storage capacity of the memory - especially magnetic disks, magnetic tapes or CD-ROMS - would be more than a hundredfold. When reading the video signals from the memory, a corresponding hybrid decoder would then have to be interposed before playback on a monitor.
Dabei wäre allerdings das den folgenden Zeilen zu entneh mende Problem zu lösen:However, this would be evident from the following lines problem to be solved:
If the signal coming from the video camera is only coded by a hybrid encoder according to the interframe principle, then one would have to start with the reproduction in the worst case with the first picture of a stored picture sequence, because for the correct decoding of a picture - because of the property specified above this coding principle - the information of all previous pictures is required. Therefore, should an image sequence when saving - as pfänger when transferring to a Em -. However, the hybrid coder from time to time a picture or image sections after the intraframe principle codie ren Such codes should not occur too often, since it is the coding results in the most effective bit rate reduction according to the interframe principle. When the signal supplied by a hybrid encoder is transmitted, the image sections coded according to the intra-frame principle are identified by subsequent or preceding code words (compare DE 37 44 280). However, these characteristic code words themselves can only be recognized if the entire preceding ne bit stream is continuously decoded. If such a signal were stored and read for a quick check - usually called fast image forward or fast image rewind - much faster than normal, a hybrid decoder connected between memory and monitor would also have to work at a considerably higher speed.
The invention has for its object a method for storing and playing back video signals ben that a quick control of the stored Makes video signals possible without such Check the circuit between memory and monitor Hybrid decoders work at higher speeds got to.
This object is achieved in that the spoke a prescribed and recognizable in isolation Section of predetermined video images according to the so-called Intra-frame principle is coded and at an accelerated control of the stored image information prescribed clippings read out and only them decoded and displayed on a monitor.
A section of a video image is either understood to mean a partial surface of the image that is visible on a monitor, that is to say an optical image, or the associated part of the electrical signal or both. It is easy to see from the context which of the meanings is applicable in the individual case. The entire video image can also belong to partial signals or partial areas - in other words to sections - of a video image. B. in the coding of every tenth video image fully encoded according to the intra-frame principle, the stored content can be checked at ten times the normal speed without the decoder would have to work faster. Although the image quality is reduced in comparison with the playback at normal speed, the quality is of minor importance in such a case.
An advantageous embodiment for isolated again Identification of an off coded according to the intra-frame principle cut consists of a preceding and / or to label the following code word. Isolated Recognition here means that for the recognition decoding of other sections is not required is. The bit combination from which a sol ches codeword to choose so that it does not happen lig by compiling other code words in the Video signal can arise. When reading from the memory cher then only needs after by a comparison circuit to be searched for this characteristic code word. The Readout speed and thus the search speed is much higher than normal speed.
Further refinements of the invention are in the sub claims specified. Using an exemplary embodiment the invention with the other embodiments are explained.
In the exemplary embodiment it is assumed that it the memory is a CD-RDM (Compact Disc ROM) is a completely addressable memory cher. If the video signal is stored in this memory via a Hybrid encoder read, so it encodes a pre written excerpt from each imported video vehicle of the intraframe principle. The size of this out average is a twenty-fifth of the total Video image. The location of the prescribed cutouts is chosen in such a way that it is composed without gaps Area of an entire video image. After all five the position of these is repeated in twenty video images Cutouts. Will one of the before when writing the CD written excerpts are read in, then in one Address list simultaneously the start address of this off cut on the CD.
In the example, the CD has a playing time of 30 minutes. Since the hybrid encoder generates an average of 1.4 Mbit / s for a video image, the number of binary storage locations on the CD is around 2.5 Gbit. Addresses with 32 (INT (ld 2.5 × 10 9 ) +1) binary digits would therefore be required to address each memory location. Because only one address is required for each image in order to address the prescribed section, at a frame rate of 50 images per second, about 90,000 addresses must be stored in an address list on the CD. The address list therefore requires approximately 2.88 Mbit, ie approximately one per mille of the total binary memory locations available on the CD.
The user of the CD wants to use the saved one Get a quick and rough overview or the content becomes more precise from a certain point on the CD watch (accelerated control), he has play device the function "fast image advance" or to select "fast rewind". With the fast picture the device performs the following functions one after the other by: It is - based on the current status of the Read head, which by a so-called pointer the Address list is recorded - the subsequent start address for the next mandatory exit cut read and then this excerpt with read out, decoded and opened at normal speed displayed on the monitor. After that, the next address read the list and submitted with the address given at this address Do the same for the saved section until after 25 Pictures form an entire picture on the monitor with norma speed has built up. That from the pre wrote excerpts of successive video images built up image on the monitor is only so far ver tugs as the image content within the time span of 25 video images (here 0.5 seconds) has changed. There according to prescribed sections of the next 25 images a monitor image built up and so on.
The content of the CD is checked with 25 times normal speed and can be used at any Start from the CD.
Entsprechendes gilt für die Funktion "schneller Rück lauf".The same applies to the function "quick return run ".
A partial coding (here is a real end meant cut) of the video images after the The intra-frame principle is therefore cheaper than that Coding of whole pictures according to the intra-frame principle because in the latter case, one suddenly when coding extremely high number of bits accumulates that fill the level a buffer memory of the hybrid encoder (cf. to this end suddenly increase DE 37 10 119). The Hybrid encoder responds with a coarser one Quantization of the following pictures, their quality thereby deteriorating.
