Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a heating system for vehicles, in the thermal energy from the cooling medium of the combustion machine is removed for heating purposes and being heat energy from the exhaust gases can be coupled into the cooling medium.
For heating vehicle compartments, the Heat from the cooling water system of the vehicle engine is used. This heat is often not sufficient for buses, however that these vehicles usually have an auxiliary heater is provided, which is operated with fuel and with the additional thermal energy in the cooling water circuit can be introduced. However, this solution needs one More fuel consumption.
From DE-30 19 786 Al is a heating system at the beginning known type, in which the cooling water flow at Be may additionally be provided in the exhaust pipe Solid heat storage can be heated. Hereby existing thermal energy when operating the vehicle saved or retained to keep them at stand times to preheat the engine or to heat the vehicle to use the tongue. A continuous transfer of heat energy from the exhaust gases over a longer period of time with such an arrangement even during the engine not possible or if there is a great demand for heat reaching.
The invention has for its object a device of the type mentioned at the beginning with which for sufficient space heating thermal energy for vehicles, in particular during engine operation, can be taken care of without need to consume additional fuel.
The object is achieved with those in claim 1 marked features solved.
This creates a flexible system in which he required additional energy independent of time from the ver heat energy of the exhaust gases into the heating system can be coupled. This transfer also takes place without immediately heat transfer between exhaust gas and cooling medium, see above that no loss of cooling medium if the Exhaust gas heat exchanger must be feared. The transmission The medium flow of the second circuit can be controlled educated. This allows heat transfer in one be regulated in a simple manner and outside the exhaust system, with the possibility of at times when there is no (Additional) heating is required, d. that is, if pure cooling water heat is sufficient, the heat assigned to the exhaust gas to keep exchanger dry. That way at all no heat from the exhaust gas to the cooling water, which would have to be dissipated through an enlarged cooler if there is no heating requirement. Annoying noise developments steam strikes are also avoidable, what for example in the direct heat transfer of the Would be case.
According to an embodiment of the invention is as heat Exchanger for the exhaust system and for the Cooling system provided a condenser. Because of that the achievable high heat transfer coefficient makes it possible to provide small, compact heat exchangers.
From DE-14 30 598 A1 there is indeed an exhaust gas heat exchanger connected heat transfer medium circuit known, which is designed as an evaporator / condenser. This is, however, operated with exhaust gas heat level vehicle heating, in which the heat from the condensate sator-trained heat exchanger of the circuit directly the heating air is emitted. Such heating systems are however, when there is a high heating requirement and especially in vehicles with diesel engines, such as. B. on buses, due to severe impairment of heat transfer due to soot deposits in the heat exchanger unsuitable.
Between the evaporator and the condenser is preferred a steam line and a condensate line interposed tet, so that the control means for the heat transfer medium in simple type in a pipe, preferably in the cooler Condensate line, can be interposed.
Damit entfallen jegliche Absperr- bzw. This eliminates any shut-off or control elements in the Exhaust pipe, which due to the aggressive components of the Exhaust gases are prone to failure and are usually leaky.
To prevent liquid from flowing through the condensate line Heat transfer medium flows back into the condenser a check valve should be provided in the condensate line.
The steam line is preferably with a security provided valve to drain the heat transfer medium Exceeding the maximum permissible operating pressure enable. But it is also possible to use one Safety valve in the condensate line in flow direction after the last shut-off valve.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the Condenser designed so that the entire heat transfer medium can be stored in it, for example, at times, in which there is no (additional) heating requirement, d. i.e. if pure cooling water heat is sufficient, the assigned to the exhaust gas Heat exchanger can be kept free from the heat transfer medium. The arrangement of the heat exchangers and any connection cables are to be chosen so that an independent Return of the heat transfer medium in the exhaust gas heat exchanger is avoided. The exhaust gas heat exchanger is in this Condition dry, which has the advantage that it is due to the exhaust gases can be heated more and that deposits be burned, the functionality of the heat could affect exchanger.
The exhaust gas heat exchanger can also be used as an energy store be formed to shorter periods of low load the engine to bridge.
For vehicles with diesel engines, it is advantageous if in Exhaust system in front of the exhaust gas heat exchanger a particle filter, in particular a par equipped with a heat source particle filter is connected upstream. With the filter, soot Particles are filtered out of the exhaust gases and thus their waste storage on the heat exchanger walls can be prevented.
Is the particulate filter with a heat source to burn off of the particles trapped in the filter, especially with coupled with an oil or gas burner, then this heat can source can be used simultaneously during downtimes to supply the vehicle with thermal energy for the heating system.
In the drawing, embodiments according to the Er the invention is shown schematically.
Fig. 1 shows a section of a pipe 10 of the cooling water system for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, not shown, and a pipe section 11 of the associated exhaust pipe.
The exhaust pipe 11 is a first heat exchanger 12 and the cooling water pipe 10 is assigned a second heat exchanger 13 which are fluidically connected via lines 14 and 15 , which are used to exchange a heat transfer medium 18 between the two heat exchangers 12 and 13 . Water is a suitable heat transfer medium 18 , but other heat transfer media or water with additives can be used.
The heat transfer medium takes heat from the exhaust gases 16 and carries this heat in the second heat exchanger 13 to the cooling water 17th A pump 19 is assigned to the heat transfer medium circuit if it is not possible to circulate the heat transfer medium solely by gravity, regardless of the type of heat exchanger and regardless of the medium (e.g. in the case of long condensate lines or if exhaust gas heat exchangers are arranged via cooling water heat exchangers ). The motor 20 of the pump 19 can be controlled by means of a control device 21 . Via the pump 19 , the heat transfer medium flow, z. B. regulated depending on the temperature of the coming from the second heat exchanger 13 cooling water. For this purpose, a temperature sensor 22 is provided at the output of the heat exchanger 13 , the measurement signals 23 of which are fed to the control device 21 . In the control device 21 , parameters 24 , such as the atmospheric temperature for the control process, can also be taken into account. In non-heating periods, the medium is evaporated out of the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 . The medium remains stored in the cooling water heat exchanger 13 . For this purpose, the cooling water heat exchanger 13 is designed such that it can also take up the portion of the heat transfer medium 18 that is in the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 during heating operation. In this way, overheating of the heat transfer medium 18 in the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 is avoided.
As a rule, when using water as the heat transfer medium 18, the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 is formed as an evaporator and the cooling water heat exchanger 13 as a condenser. With the high exhaust gas temperatures, the water is evaporated in the evaporator 12 and transported via a line 14 designed as a steam line into the condenser 13 . In order to avoid excess pressure in the heat transfer medium system, a safety valve 30 is provided in the steam line. From giving up the heat of vaporization in the condenser 13 to the cooling water 17, the steam condenses. The condensate collects at the lower end of the condenser container 13 and is fed back into the evaporator 12 via the second line designed as a condensate line 15 .
The heat transfer medium is transported due to the density differences between the two phases and is controlled via the shut-off throttle 25 , for example depending on the temperature of the cooling water or other parameters 24 , so that the heat transfer medium flow and thus the coupling of the heat from the exhaust gases 16 into the Cooling water 17 takes place according to the heating requirement. In order to prevent condensate backflow into the condenser 13 , a check valve 31 is interposed in the condensate line 15 . If no heat transfer to the cooling water 17 is required, the control device 21 shuts off the valve 25 . So that no condensate from the condenser 13 can flow back into the evaporator 12 , while the heat transfer medium still in the evaporator continues to evaporate and finally completely reaches the condenser 13 , where it remains as condensate until the shut-off valve 25 is opened again when heat is required .
A feed pump 19 can also be provided in the configuration of the heat exchangers as evaporators and condensers if, owing to the arrangement of the individual case, proper circulation of the heat transfer medium is not guaranteed. Furthermore, a flow monitor 32 can also be provided, which also influences the heat transfer medium flow control via the control device 21 .
The heat transfer system according to the invention is not restricted to vehicles. In principle, the system can be used for all types of hot gases (not just engines). The use of such a heat transfer system is always useful when the exhaust heat energy should not or should not always be used and when the temperature of the exhaust gases is above the respective evaporation temperature of the heat transfer medium 18 .
In vehicle engines, the flammable components in the exhaust gas ent hold (e.g. soot, hydrocarbons), the Ver steamer on the exhaust side, so that the heat transfer is essential worsened. By running the evaporator dry (without Heat transfer medium) these flammable particles at full engine burned again. The evaporator remains thereby functional in the long term.
In Fig. 2 the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 is shown, which is connected to a particle filter 35 of any kind in the exhaust system 11 before. With the filter 35 in the heat exchanger 14 entering gas 16 'of particles, in particular soot particles, is freed so that the heat transfer to the medium 18 in the heat exchanger 12 is not affected by deposits on the inner surface 37 of the heat exchanger wall 38 .
In most soot filter systems 35 , a heating source is provided with which trapped soot particles within the filter 35 can be oxidized.
In FIG. 2, a burner 36 is provided for this purpose, which is supplied with fuel 40 and combustion air 41st
Such a system has in connection with the exhaust gas heat exchanger 12 the additional effect that this burner 36 is used in the vehicle's downtime to heat the vehicle space by the energy from the hot fuel gases via the heat exchanger 12 and the coolant circuit of the internal combustion engine to the Heating air is given off.
In the case of another heat source for regeneration a soot filter, such as. B. an electric heater or the like, one is going for extra air must provide flow if the regeneration unit additional Lich should serve as a heating source during downtimes.
