Jeweils im Be­ reich des Ein- und Auslasses des Kugelkükens ist im Bereich der Schalen, welche aus Kunststoff bestehen, ein abriebfes­ ter Ring integriert. Dieser Ring besteht vorzugsweise aus Metall, Kunststoff oder Keramik und hat die Aufgabe, bei ab­ rassiven Fördermedien den Verschleiß der Dichtungen zu min­ dern. Ein ähnlicher Kugelhahn ist bekannt (DE 28 07 913 C2). Er ist zwar hohlraumfrei ausgebildet, hat aber den Nachteil, daß er keinen zusätzlichen verschleißfesten Ring am Ein- und Auslaß des Kugelkükens hat, wie es die Neuerung darstellt.
