Description

Process for the regeneration of the absorption of hydrogen sulfide used milk of lime. As impurities in gases, e.g. B. generator gas, coal gas etc., also occur among other things also sulfur compounds such as sulfurous acid (SO2) and Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), either from the coal polluting quantities Iron sulfide or mostly from organically bound sulfur in the coal.

The invention relates to a method for removing hydrogen sulfide from such gases and vapors. To get rid of the hydrogen sulphide there are different options so far; the two cheapest are lawn iron ore and milk of lime. When using lawn iron ore, as is generally the case with the preparation of luminous gas is used, however, large, space-consuming boxes are required through which the gas must be sucked through by a gas suction device. Emptying the boxes, Shoveling the lawn iron ore for regeneration and refilling the boxes is quite costly due to the amount of work involved. Using calcium sulfhydrate from milk of lime results from the formula: Ca (0H) 2 -; - 2 H, S - Ca (S H) 2 + 2H20. But as soon as the formation of calcium sulfhydrate is about 7 percent hydrolysis occurs, i. H. the extremely weak acid of hydrogen sulfide If the milk of lime is no longer sufficiently bound, the hydrogen sulphide becomes no longer absorbed, which is noticeable by a foul odor. The usage milk of lime has the disadvantage that it can only absorb it for a certain period of time is. Furthermore, one already has alkalis for removing the hydrogen sulphide suggested. - To eliminate its disadvantages, iron hydroxide was added to the alkali solution slurried, for the purpose, the alkali from the alkali sulfides formed during de's cleaning process to regenerate automatically, whereby iron sulphide and gives free alkali. In this case, however, the alkali solution had to remove the iron-sulfur compounds formed separated by filtration and again with fresh iron hydroxide on the washer to be abandoned.

According to the method of the invention now, in which milk of lime for absorption If hydrogen sulfide is used, this can be practically unlimited and let it circulate in the washer without filtration, namely by pouring into the Collecting basin for the lime milk leaving the washer and containing hydrogen sulphide Lawn iron stone in perforated baskets between raised floors or the like The iron sulfide that forms then constantly regenerates the milk of lime. Include the Gases not only hydrogen sulfide but also carbonic acid, this becomes when the new procedure at the same time with absorbed. Another advantage is that with Gases which, in addition to the pollutants mentioned, also contain fly ash, same is also washed out when using the method.
