Abstract
Description
The invention relates to gas turbine engines and ins special to a turbofan engine with an opposite order running low pressure system.
In German patent applications P 33 38 456 and P 36 14 157 an opposing turbofan is indicated, which is countered by a current power turbine is driven. There is one characteristic the configuration of the power turbine and the ratio of the average flow path radius of this turbine to the middle Flow path radius of the gas generator. This is partly the half required to have a lower fan top speed and / or ensure higher turbine blade speed.
Under certain design conditions, it may be desirable be the mean flow path radius of the power turbine to downsize. According to an embodiment of the above Such a reduction of the average flow path radius of the power turbine the fan Increase the top speed, which increases the efficiency of the Engine is reduced.
It is an object of the present invention, a new and improved counter-rotating turbofan engine with high bypass Create relationship. This turbofan engine is said to be one have opposite booster or additional compressor. Further is said to have a turbofan engine with a front mounted one against in-progress fan and a booster compressor that are created are driven by two counter-rotating shafts.
The engine according to the invention has a gas generator Generating combustion gases, a power turbine, a Fan section and a booster compressor. The performance turbine contains first and second counter-rotating rows of blades, set the first and second drive shafts in rotation. The Fan section has a first row of fan blades, which with the first drive shaft is connected, and a second fan show row of rows connected to the second drive shaft. The booster or additional compressor contains a first compression Row of blades connected to the first drive shaft is, and a second row of compressor blades, which with the second drive shaft is connected.

Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of a counter-rotating turbofan engine with a high bypass ratio according to an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of a booster Ver poet for a turbofan engine with high bypass ratio according to another embodiment of the invention.
Eine ringförmige Antriebswelle 24 verbindet den Verdichter 18 mit der Hochdruckturbine 22.In Fig. 1, a gas turbine engine 10 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown. The engine 10 has a central longitudinal axis 12 and an annular housing 14 which is arranged coaxially around the axis 12 . The engine 10 also includes a core gas generator 16 with a compressor 18 , a burner 20 and a high pressure turbine 22 , which can be either one or more stages, all of which are arranged coaxially about the longitudinal axis or center line 12 of the engine 10 in an axial series flow. An annular drive shaft 24 connects the compressor 18 to the high pressure turbine 22 .
The gas generator 16 has the function of generating combustion gases. Compressed air from the compressor 18 is mixed with fuel in the burner 20 and ignited, to thereby generate combustion gases. A certain amount of work is removed from these gases by the high-pressure turbine 22 , which drives the compressor 18 . The remaining combustion gases are expelled from the gas generator 16 through a strut 26 of a holder 28 and fed to the power turbine 30 .
The power turbine 30 includes a first annular drum rotor 32 which is rotatably mounted in a frame hub part 36 by suitable bearings 34 . The first rotor 32 has a plurality of first turbine blade rows 38 , which extend radially inwards and are arranged at an axial distance.
The power turbine 30 includes a second annular drum rotor 40 that is disposed radially inward of the first rotor 32 and the first rows of blades 38 . The second rotor 40 has a plurality of second turbine blade rows 42 which extend radially outwards and are arranged at an axial distance. The second rotor 40 is rotatably mounted with a first shaft 44 by differential bearings 46 .
Die Rotoren laufen im wesentlichen mit der gleichen Drehzahl um.Each of the first and second turbine blade rows 38 and 42 has a plurality of circumferentially spaced blades, the first blade rows 38 being arranged between corresponding blades of the second blade rows 42 and alternately spaced therefrom. Combustion gases flowing through the rows of blades 38 and 42 drive the first and second rotors 32 and 40 in opposite directions. The rotors rotate at essentially the same speed.
On the first and second rotors 32 and 40 first and second drive shafts 44 and 48 are fixedly attached. Thus, the first and second rotors 32 and 40 have the function of driving the first and second drive shafts 44 and 48, respectively. At the drive shafts 44 and 48 are arranged coaxially to the center line 12 of the engine 10 and extend forward or upstream through the gas generator 16 .
The engine 10 also has a front fan or blower section 52 . The fan section 52 is arranged radially on the inside of an annular fan channel 54 , which is suitably fastened to the housing 14 by a strut 56 . The fan section 52 includes a first fan blade row 58 which is connected to the front end 60 of the first drive shaft 44 . Similarly, the fan section 52 has a second row of fan blades 62 connected to the front end 64 of the second drive shaft 48 .
Each of the first and second fan blade rows 58 and 62 has a plurality of fan blades or blowers arranged at a distance on the circumference. The fan blade rows 58 and 62 rotate in opposite directions of rotation, which ensures a relatively high fan efficiency and drive efficiency with a generally low absolute top speed on each fan blade row. The fan blade rows 58 and 62 extend radially outward to the fan channel 54 .
The counter-rotating fan blade row 62 serves to eliminate the turbulence or circumferential component of the air which is brought about by the counter-rotating fan blade row 58 . In this way, the struts 56 are not an exhaust guide scoop in the sense that no intermingling needs to be eliminated by the struts. Therefore, only a relatively small number of struts 56 are required to support the jacket 54 .
The struts 56 are arranged axially in front of the core engine 20 . This allows the engine 10 to be held at a location as close as possible to the fan blade rows 58 and 62 .
The engine 10 also has a booster or additional compressor 66 . The booster compressor 66 includes a first annular rotor 68 with a plurality of first compressor blade rows 70 which extend radially outward and are arranged at an axial distance. The booster compressor 66 also includes a second annular rotor 72, which is arranged radially outside of the rotor 68 and the first compressor blade rows 70 . The rotor 72 contains several second compressor blade rows 74 which protrude radially inwards and are arranged at an axial distance. The rotor 68 is fixedly attached to the fan blade row 58 and a front end of the first drive shaft 44 . Similarly, the rotor 72 is fixedly attached to the fan blade row 62 and the front end 64 of the second drive shaft 48 .
Each of the first and second compressor blade rows 70 and 74 has a plurality of compressor blades arranged circumferentially at a distance, the first blade rows 70 being alternately arranged at a distance from corresponding ones of the second blade rows 74 . The compressor blade rows 70 and 74 rotate in the opposite direction and are arranged in the core channel 76 , which leads to the compressor 18 of the gas generator 16 .
The opposing booster compressor 66 ensures a significant increase in pressure of the air entering the core gas generator 16 . An advantage of the arrangement that the fan blade row and the compressor blade rows are driven by the same Antriebswel le is that the power turbine 30 energy is extracted in an optimal manner. Without the booster compressor stages being driven by the power turbine via shafts 44 and 48 , a separate compressor with an additional shaft and drive turbine would be required. If the booster compressor stages were not available, the engine would be restricted in its overall pressure ratio, which would result in poorer efficiency. The circulating de booster results in a sufficient pressure increase despite the low fan speed. Because the compressor blade rows 70 and 74 rotate in opposite directions, a smaller number of compressor blade rows is possible than would be required for a single, low-speed compressor driven by only one shaft.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the fan section 52 and booster compressor 66th The booster compressor 66 is constructed such that the rotor 68 is arranged radially outside of the rotor 72 . Thus, the first compressor blade rows 70 extend radially inward from the rotor 68 and the compressor blade rows 74 extend radially outward from the rotor 72 .
However, further exemplary embodiments are possible. So it should be noted that the engine 10 basically has a ge separated core engine 20 in the middle with two counter-rotating turbines at one end and two counter-rotating fans at the other end. The opposing turbines and blowers are not restricted by the construction of the central core engine.
To achieve a reverse thrust, a normal reverse thrust can be used unit can be inserted into the system. Alternatively, a known mechanism with variable slope in the system in be incorporated.
Finally, it should be mentioned that the dimensions and proportions tional and structural relations, as shown in the drawing are shown, are only exemplary embodiments and not the deed physical dimensions and relations must correspond to the in a counter-rotating turbofan engine according to the invention be used.
