Description
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing of triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide by reacting at least 60% hydrogen peroxide with triphenyl chloromethane.
Hydroperoxides are considered in industrial processes Oxidizing agents are used to an increasing extent. From of particular interest are stereoselective syntheses, as in the production of natural products or Medicines are needed with the help of the so-called asymmetric epoxidation using anhydrous Hydroperoxides. The previously used t-butyl hydroperoxide is difficult to make anhydrous. In pure form, it is a dangerous substance. One is so here limited to the preparation of solutions. A hydroperoxide that is easy to produce without water in contrast triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide, which is there beyond safe handling. Its manufacture is difficult, however, and the previously known methods all have major disadvantages. With the so far known method is usually very high percentage saturated hydrogen peroxide, usually 90%, and the respective output connection, e.g. B. triphenylchloromethane or triphenylmethylcarbinol in the reaction vessel then dripped.
So in DE-PS 10 64 514 a process for the manufacture described organic hydroperoxides, which a solution of the organic halogen compound highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide with a min residual content of 60 wt .-% is added.
This procedure is very dangerous since doing so Go through mixtures that are explosive. The reverse order of addition has not been in Considered that there are too many by-products, ins special dialkyl peroxides arise. Another Variant with slightly lower water Peroxide can be used in chemical Reports, Vol. 64 (1931), page 1205 ff. Here, however, the hydrogen peroxide must be dissolved in acetone become. However, the use of acetone has in the Past has led to a number of incidents the cause of which is probably the formation of the highly explosive Was acetone peroxide. For security reasons, should hence the use of acetone related Hydrogen peroxide can be avoided.
Alle bekannten Verfahren arbeiten mit Ausbeuten von maximal um die 80%.All known processes work with yields of around 80% at most.
The object of the invention was now to provide a method for Sheep production of triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide fen that provides high yields and can be carried out safely ren is.
This object is achieved by the one defined in the claim Method.
Surprisingly, it was found that at Verwen formation of relatively low percent hydrogen peroxide Triphenyl hydroperoxide is available in high purity, when the peroxide becomes a solution of the triphenylchloromethane is added. According to the invention, it is possible to be practical to achieve quantitative yields.
When carrying out the method according to the invention is triphenylchloromethane in the reaction vessel Submitted solution. As a solvent for that in the room temperature-resistant triphenylchloromethane can alipha table or aromatic hydrocarbons and their halogenated derivatives and mixtures thereof become. Preferred as a solvent for triphenyl chloromethane toluene used.
The dissolved triphenylchloromethane then becomes the water added peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide is in a concentration of 50 to 75 wt .-% used. Hydrogen peroxide is particularly preferred Concentration from 65 to 70 wt .-%. Higher concentration ions than 75% by weight are not necessary, lower ones Concentrations of less than 50% by weight lead to Formation of by-products, which is undesirable.
For security reasons, the reaction is preferred at a temperature of 0 to 30 ° C. Deeper Temperatures are uneconomical because then the implementation takes place very slowly. At temperatures above The reaction proceeds faster at 30 ° C, but is the security risk is also greater, so that from security position from 30 ° C must not be exceeded should.
Since the triphenylchloromethane, like all alkyl hydroperoxides, is sensitive to acids, it is preferred to add of basic compounds in the reaction with Hydrogen peroxide generated to remove hydrogen chloride An inorganic base is expediently used for this purpose suspended in the solution of triphenylchloromethane.
Sodium hydrogen is preferred as the inorganic base carbonate, calcium carbonate or magnesium oxide used. Sodium hydrogen carbonate is particularly preferably used puts. The amount of base is not critical and for In individual cases, the specialist can choose the optimal one Find out the amount easily with just a few tries.
The triphenylmethylhydro formed during the reaction peroxide is in the ver for the triphenylchloromethane Solvent used and can therefore from the organic phase can be obtained. The solution of the Tri phenylmethyl hydroperoxide can be used directly for syntheses be used. The solid triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide can also be extracted from the organic phase Solvent can be obtained in a vacuum.
With the method according to the invention it is possible to Triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide in virtually quantitative To produce yield and high purity. The procedure is safe to do. Because when adding the water hydrogen peroxide to the organic substrate is diluted peroxide, there is no formation explosive mixtures. In the previously known methods, where the organic substrate to hydrogen peroxide an explosive reaction mixture is formed.
The invention is illustrated by the following example:
Die organische Phase wird noch zweimal mit je 1 l Wasser gewaschen, mit 50 g wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und filtriert.151 g (1.8 mol) of sodium bicarbonate are added to a solution of 431 g (1.5 mol) of triphenylchloromethane (97%) in 700 g of toluene. With vigorous stirring, 437 g (9 mol) of 70% by weight H 2 O 2 are added dropwise at about 15 ° C. in the course of about 30 minutes and the mixture is then stirred at 15 to 20 ° C. for a further 30 minutes. 500 ml of water are added and the mixture is stirred for 5 minutes. The aqueous phase is then separated off. The organic phase is washed twice with 1 liter of water, dried with 50 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate and filtered.
After removing the toluene in vacuo at 25 to 30 ° C. remains a firm residue, with something Petroleum ether is washed and dried. You get 412 g of fine powder with a melting point of 86 ° C and containing 99.6% triphenylmethyl hydroperoxide (determined iodometrically). This corresponds to 99% of theo retic yield.
