Description
The invention relates to a converter system in the Oberbe handle of claim 1 described and for example by the EP-PS 0 59 927 known type. Such a converter system is used to detect the incident on the pathogen, for example from a high frequency microwave signal emitted by satellite le in the GHz range to convert into signals with a lower Frequency (intermediate frequency). This should be without quality if possible loss, and the signals are to be amplified.
The known type is a Receiving Direction for left and right hand circularly polarized Microwave signals. A dielectric cone serves as the exciter shaped insert, which is in a funnel-shaped exciter horn of the Waveguide is inserted. This dielectric insert protrudes with one Part in the antenna-side end of the waveguide and acts there with its flattened ends as a polarization converter. About that in addition, the part of the waveguide in the known design, the receives the dielectric polarization converter, as a high pass filter trained. Another part that follows of the waveguide with a larger diameter than bandpass filter trained. The electronics are in the familiar design on a microstrip substrate with its ground plane at a right angle to the end of the waveguide far from the exciter is soldered in a timed manner. They protrude through the microstrip line four coupling pins into the waveguide coupling the signals of both linear polarization directions. In addition, the known design has a polarization switch.
The invention is based, the manufacturing and Assembly effort and the space required for a converter tersystem of the type mentioned to reduce at the same time increased reliability. This task is done with a Identify the converter system of the type mentioned at the beginning solved the features of claim 1. The one-piece, compact The design of the housing enables simple manufacture, e.g. in an injection molding process. Such a housing is mecha nically very stable. This is advantageous in view of the fact that the converter system as part of an outdoor antenna unit May be exposed to fluctuations in the ambient temperature. Further great stability is required because of such an the occurring loads caused by wind and vibrations as well as snow and ice deposits. The on the longitudinal molded housing for the electronics enables a slim, space-saving design. This receptacle is used to install the electronics, preferably is built on ceramic boards, which in turn are in thick film technology are made. This technology enables a price-effective continuous production with very good high-frequency properties. Because of the rigid housing is rigid, there is no danger that the electronics once brought in by mechanical input rivers is disturbed. This is especially true for the very em sensitive decoupling antenna, on the one hand on the electronics board is attached and the other one in the housing wall molded hole penetrates and protrudes into the waveguide. In an embodiment of the invention, for. B. exciter side to egg ner outer wall of the housing closes by a lid bare opening attached. It serves to be simple and too reliable way to insert a polarization converter if necessary bring and attach securely. Such a polarization converter, e.g. B. in the form of a thin metallic plate, enables reception from left and / or right circular polarized waves. The polarization converter converts the zir Specially polarized signals in orthogonally-linearly polarized Signals around. For example, the pathogen receives a left turn polarized wave, it is caused by the polarization converter into a horizontally linearly polarized, for example Wave converted. If the pathogen receives z. B. a clockwise polarized wave, so this z. B. in a perpendicular linear polarized wave converted. So one or two zir Specular polarization directions are received. At a reception of two directions of polarization, after conversion by the polarization converter, the two linear waves in one Polarization switch separated and each with its own electric nik fed. Each electronics sits in its own holder; on the one hand, the recordings are rotated 90 degrees to each other the housing outer wall arranged and on the other hand in the longitudinal direction offset by a certain amount.
Without such a polarization converter, the case is opened The lid is securely closed. There is the Possibility of receiving the converter system from one or from to form two linearly polarized waves. Such a con vertersystem also requires two electronic modules a polarizing switch and enables the separation of cross polarized waves.
In an advantageous embodiment, the housing and the cover preferably from castings, e.g. B. made of precision castings. This eliminates the need for a complex manufacturing process that has been customary up to now by milling. If necessary, the Invention coated these parts with a noble surface, e.g. B. be galvanized to electrical or weather to meet needs.
The integrated means for direct antenna coupling between the waveguide and the electronics consist, for example, that the electronics with a pin-shaped coupling antenna ver is bound, the one wall of the waveguide in the area of the recording penetrates in a molded hole and into the interior of the Waveguide protrudes, and that the waveguide at the exit with one too proper short-circuit element matched to the coupling antenna is provided. As a short-circuit element can conduct, for example de rods can be provided in molded holes in the housing. The holes for receiving the coupling antenna and the holes for Admission of the conductive rods can be used in the manufacture of the housing it can be easily molded in. This results in a simple connection technology for electronics.
To receive left-handed and right-handed polarized Waves, the converter is preferably designed such that the waveguide has a square cross section and that two at right angles to each other, in the longitudinal direction ge mutually offset receptacles are provided for the electronics are, each a coupling antenna and a short circuit ment at the waveguide output is assigned. This construction forms an easy way to receive both polarizations (left and right circularly polarized). Both electronics Units are in egg due to the staggered receptacles arranged at a specific, unchangeable distance from each other The electronics are easily accessible and can be faulty case can be easily replaced. The square cross section of the waveguide enables easy opening of the opening to accommodate the polarization converter. To fix, contact me Ren and align the polarization formed as a plate transducers have the housing and the lid z. B. each molded te, outward-facing support rib with matched support surfaces. The support ribs with their support surfaces are like this shaped and arranged that a recorded between them and held polarization plate at a certain angle, preferably 45 degrees, protrudes into the interior of the waveguide. A particularly easy way to fix and align it results from the fact that the support rib of the housing with holding and Guide pins and the support rib of the cover with the openings is provided.
The required filters of the converter system can either be in one piece with the housing or as a special component be designed to be used in the waveguide.
Further expedient configurations result from the sub claim.

Each satellite broadcast receiving system shown in Fig. 5 requires a so-called outdoor unit. The two recordings 15 and 16 are arranged on the one hand in the right angle to each other and are on the other hand offset in longitudinal extension of the waveguide 27 by the dimension 42 . The electronics 35 are used to process the microwave signals of one circularly polarized direction (e.g., left-turning), while the electronics 36 are used to process the microwave signals of the other circularly polarized direction (e.g., rotating to the right). In the case of incident microwave signals, the polarization converter 25 converts the still circularly polarized signals into orthogonally-linearly polarized signals. - With 21 a mounting holes on the lid 18 are designated. 43 , 44 designate additional bores, each of which extends outwards at the bottom of a receptacle 15 , 16 . They are used to hold threaded bushes with screws, which means that oscillators arranged in the mounts can be easily adjusted from the outside. - By the offset 42 of the receptacles 15 , 16 , the coupling antennas 37 , 38 are also offset by the dimension 42 from each other.
Each of the existing coupling antennas 37 , 38 can only receive the linear wave assigned to it, but not the one orthogonal to it (polarization switch). If the two coupling antennas 37 , 38 are in a common plane or in two close to each other, the orthogonal planes extending at right angles to the longitudinal waveguide planes, the orthogonality of the cross-polarized linear waves to be coupled is disturbed (coupling). There must therefore be a sufficient dimension 42 between the coupling antennas 37 , 38 to prevent mutual coupling of the two waves by the coupling antennas 37 , 38 . Referring to FIG. 1, the displacement amount 42 equal to a fraction of the length of the housing 13, so that it is possible a kom kakte, enabling compact construction.
In the design described, the required displacement 42 between the antennas 37 , 38 is achieved by displacing the associated receptacles 15 , 16 , since the boards 35 a , 36 a are constructed identically. A mutual offset of the recordings 15 , 16 could, however, also be omitted if it is only ensured that the coupling antennas 37 , 38 have the required distance 42 . The associated boards would then have to be built accordingly.
The waves separated in this way are each guided to electronics 35 , 36 and processed further. So that both the left-handed and the right-handed circularly polarized waves can be received simultaneously, the waveguide 27 requires a short circuit for each direction at a certain distance from the respective antenna 37 , 38 . For the set of electronics 35 signals taken the short-circuiting plate 39 is used. The short-circuit grid 40 consisting of rods serves for the signals to be processed by the electronics ( 36 ). This is lattice-shaped so that the associated signals can be passed through for the downstream antenna 37 .
