Abstract

A rotary actuator includes a housing (10, 12) defining an opening, an output shaft (15) extending through the opening, a stator vane (45) and rotor vane (42) associated with the output shaft (15) and opening to define a plurality of actuation chambers (54...57) and an inner surface of the hosing (10,12) extending inwardly past a shoulder portion of the output shaft (15) to seal directly against the shaft (15).
