Die Erfahrung zeigt aber in diesem Fall, daß der Festbrennstoff in den Kassetten dann nicht mehr vollständig oder rasch genug verbrennt. Die erhöhte Brennstoffschicht erhält nicht mehr genügend Verbrennungsluft von oben, sodaß teilweise nur eine Verkokungsprozess stattfinden würde. Auch dieser wird schließlich bei Einsatz von aschereichen Brennstoffen noch durch die entstehende Aschedeckschicht auf dem Festbrennstoff beeinträchtigt. Erfindungsgemäss wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß eine Brennstoffkassette mit Belüftungsöffnungen im Außenmantel des unteren Füllbereichs der Kassette ausgebildet wird, sodaß von dort Verbrennungsluft in die Kassette (1) eindringen kann. Die Belüftungsöffnungen (2) können gemäß Fig. 1 so ausgebildet werden, dass sie in einem Winkel von oben nach unten (von aussen her betrachtet) verlaufen, sodaß kein Festbrennstoff (3) oder Asche nach außen aus der Kassette herausfallen kann. Das in der Kassette entstehende Brenngas tritt nach oben zwischen dem nicht dicht gestapelten Brenngut aus der Kassette aus, während infolge der dabei entstehenden Thermik ständig frische Verbrennungsluft als Vergasungsmittel von unten über die Belüftungsöffnung in das Brennstoffbett eintritt. Zur besseren Entlüftung kann der obere Kassettenrand gerillt, profiliert oder mit Gasaustrittsöffnungen versehen werden.
