Description

Device for producing hydrogen. Subject of the invention refers to hydrogen gas generators, where water vapor, water gas or 4-l. by a contact mass of z. B. hot iron parts passed through and thereby is split. However, since the contact mass is already through after a very short time; If it crumbles, gets dirty, etc., it has to be constantly renewed the sintered-together iron mass is extremely difficult. For this reason you have already used the contact compound in cage-like containers, so that the Contact ground can be lifted out of the shaft in individual packages. One Improvement of this arrangement is achieved according to the invention in that the Contact ground on both im. Shaft as well; on a central pillar supported, with to grasp the actual facilities, such as rings, hooks and the like. Provided grate bars is stored. The fabric of the cage-like covering namely experiences other changes in volume under the effect of high temperatures than the shaft wall. It cannot be avoided that between the shaft wall and the contact mass form gaps, which at the great length of the shaft circumference have a considerable cross-section. As a result, pull through this column large amounts of water vapor, water gas, etc. pass through unchanged and contaminate thereby the generated hydrogen. In contrast, the individual grids offer the Opportunity to tamp the contact compound closer to the shaft wall. It is also possible to arrange the bottoms at an angle or to have a conical design achieve an automatic seal, since the z. B. consisting of iron bodies Tends to contact mass as a result of the slope against the generator wall.

It is also advantageous above the superimposed on the individual floors Contact masses of gas collecting spaces to be released. This is where the gas is below each individual soil again distributed over the entire cross-sectional area of the shaft, so that local currents and unilateral use of the contact masses are less easy can enter.

The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment: a is the line for the reducing gas, b the steam line, c the inlet connection of the combustion air for desulfurization of the contact mass. e is the upward line for the reducing gas and f is the gas outlet. h is the shaft. In this hydrogen gas generator, which is known per se, the contact compound i is now supported on individual grates k which are supported on the one hand on the shaft wall and on the other hand on a central column n. These floors k are inclined so that the contact mass i exerts a load pressure against the shaft wall in.

To renew the contact mass the central one Raised pillars, so that all lröden k their inner point of support lose and collapse.
