Abstract

An anti-theft package comprises a container with a neck on which external threads are formed, and a plastic closure consisting of a covering plate and an integrally moulded-on annular edge which hangs down with internal threads formed integrally thereon so as to be complementary to the threads on the neck of the container. The container has an annular locking bead which lies axially below the threads. The edge comprises an anti-theft ring at its lower end which is connected to the upper part of the edge by a number of integrally formed bridge portions which are arranged with circumferential spacing and lie below the threads when the closure has been placed on the container. The ring has an annular rib which runs radially inwards and comes into engagement below the locking bead of the container when the closure has been placed on the container. One of the bridge portions has a larger cross-section than the other bridge portions, such that, when the closure has been placed on the container, the rib on the anti-theft ring snaps over the locking bead on the container and comes into engagement below the latter and, when the closure is rotated for removal from the container, the bridge portions, apart from the bridge portion with the larger cross-section, are torn, such that the anti-theft ring remains connected to the closure. <IMAGE>
