Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Knochen-Implantates aus einer kaltverformbaren Titanlegierung mit einer aus einem Edelmetall oder einer Edelmetallegierung bestehenden Auflage, wobei ein Rohling vorgeformt und durch Kaltverformung zum Knochen-Implantat geformt wird und die Auflage unter dem Einfluß elektrischer Kräfte aufgebracht wird.
Bei dem bekannten, gattungsgemäßen Verfahren (DE-OS 28 24 063), bei dem unterstellt werden kann, daß die Formgebung des Knochen-Implantates durch Kaltverformung erfolgt (»Medizinalmarkt« 9/1973, S. 296 bis 298), wird die Auflage auf das ggf. zuvor spanabhebend bearbeitete Knochen-Implantat aufgebracht, und zwar elektrolytisch im Rahmen eines Salzschmelzverfahrens. Dabei muß in Kauf genommen werden, daß die Auflage an keiner Stelle unmittelbar mit dem Metalltitan verbunden ist, sondern lediglich auf der Titanoxidschicht haftet, mit der sich Titan und Titanlegierungen im Kontakt mit Luftsauerstoff spontan überziehen. Die Haftung der Auflage ist daher nicht befriedigend. Das gilt insbesondere dann, wenn man die Auflage im Wege des Flammspritzens (DE-OS 23 13 678) aufbringt. Um auf insbesondere Zahnimplantate aus Titan oder aus einer Titanlegierung eine Interferenzoberflächenschicht aus Aluminiumoxid, Siliciumnitrid oder dergleichen aufzubringen, ist es bekannt (DE-OS 26 32 932), mit einem Ionenstrahl zu arbeiten, die Auflage also im Wege der Ionenplattierung aufzubringen. Auch hier wird die Auflage auf das Implantat und damit auf dessen Titanoxidschicht aufgebracht.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, das gattungsgemäße Verfahren so zu führen, daß eine wesentlich verbesserte Haftung der Auflage auf dem Knochen-Implantat erreicht wird.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe lehrt die Erfindung, daß die Auflage zunächst auf den Rohling im Wege der Ionenplattierung aufgebracht wird und daß danach die Formgebung zum Knochen-Implantat durch Kaltfließpressen durchgeführt wird. Die Auflage wird auf den Rohling zweckmäßigerweise mit einer mittleren Schichtdicke von 1,0 bis 10 μηι, vorzugsweise von etwa 5 μ τι, aufgebracht Eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung, die zu einem besonders intensiven Verbund zwischen Titanlegierung und der Auflage führt, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Auflage durch das Kaltfließpressen auf eine mittlere Schichtdicke von etwa 0,5 μπι gebracht wird. Es empfiehlt sich, beim Kaltfließpressen mit einer zusätzlichen Schmierschicht auf Basis von M0S2 zu arbeiten.
Überraschenderweise haftet eine im Wege der Ionenplattierung aufgebrachte Edelmetallschicht zunächst auf den Rohling so, daß diese Edelmetallschicht als Gleitschicht beim Kaltfließpressen funktioniert und das Kaltfließpressen des Rohlings aus einer Titanlegierung überhaupt erst ermöglicht, ohne daß Werkstück und Werkzeug verschweißen und die Oberfläche des Bauteils zerstört wird. Es versteht sich, daß der Kaltfließvorgang so geführt wird, daß das verdrängte, steigende Material nicht abreißt. Das gilt sowohl für die Titanlegierung a!s auch für die Edelmetallschicht. Eine derartige Führung des Kaltfließpreßvorganges ist durch entsprechende Werkzeuggestaltung und Einstellung der Verformungsgeschwindigkeit ohne weiteres möglich. Überraschenderweise wird der Verbund zwischen Titanlegierung und der Edelmetallschicht beim Kaltfließpressen eher verbessert als beeinträchtigt.
Im folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand einer lediglich ein Ausführungsbeispiel darstellenden Zeichnung ausführlicher erläutert. Es zeigt

Der in den Figuren dargestellte Rohling 1 besteht aus einer verformbaren Titanlegierung. Es wurde auch im Wege des Kaltfließpressens hergestellt. Er besitzt eine Auflage 2. Diese funktioniert als Gleitschicht beim Kaltfließpressen. Die Auflage 2 wurde im Wege der Ionenplattierung aufgebracht und besteht aus duktilem Edelmetall oder einer duktilen Legierung. Insbesondere aus der F i g. 3 entnimmt man, daß das Implantat t gewebeseitig eine durch Riefen und Rillen 3 vergrößerte Lakunenoberfläche aufweist.

Claims (4)

Patentansprüche:
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Knochen-Implantates aus einer kaltverformbaren Titanlegierung mit einer aus einem Edelmetall oder einer Edelmetallegierung bestehenden Auflage, wobei ein Rohling vorgeformt und durch Kaltverformung zum Knochen-Implantat geformt wird und die Auflage unter dem Einfluß elektrischer Kräfte aufgebracht wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Auflage zunächst auf den Rohling im Wege der Ionenplattierung aufgebracht wird und daß danach die Formgebung zum Knochen-Implantat durch Kaltfließpressen durchgeführt wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß auf den Rohling eine Auflage mit einer mittleren Schichtdicke von 1,0 bis 10,0 μίτι, vorzugsweise von etwa 5 μίτι, aufgebracht wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Auflage durch das Kaltfließpressen auf eine mittlere Schichtdicke von etwa 0,5 μιτι gebracht wird.
4. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß beim Kaltfließpressen mit einer zusätzlichen Schmierschicht auf Basis von M0S2 gearbeitet wird.
