Verfahren und Einrichtung zur Regelung von Betriebsparametern einer selbst zündenden Brennkraftmaschine Method and device for controlling operating parameters of a self-igniting internal combustion engine
Stand der TechnikState of the art
The invention is based on a method and a device for performing the method for regulating Operating parameters of an internal combustion engine, in particular a compression ignition internal combustion engine, in which by means of the difference between a setpoint value of an operating parameter the internal combustion engine and one of the operating state the internal combustion engine-dependent actual value determines a quantity and / or the time-determining setting element is activated. There is already a procedure to determine the related Known fuel consumption in internal combustion engines, in which the amount of fuel consumed is determined from the exhaust gas temperature (US-PS U1 78 798). The facility for Implementation of this method includes a speed sensor, a temperature sensor in the exhaust pipe of the Internal combustion engine, especially near the exhaust valves is arranged.
This measuring device is based on the task of determining the amount of fuel consumed by the internal combustion engine from the measured exhaust gas temperature. As already explained in this patent, the difficulties of this method are based on reconciling the requirement for a temperature sensor that is quick to react and sensitive to the requirement for the sensor to be mechanically insensitive. For pure consumption measurements, as this invention is based on, slow temperature sensors can be used, which then have the required mechanical stability. In contrast, the internal combustion engine normally fast transducers are required for control and regulation purposes of operating parameters, so that the method according to US-PS h ~ \ 78 798 for control purposes is not usable or only leads to unsatisfactory results.

Stronger 15 is acted upon via two resistors 16 and 17 with the signals of the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 and a voltage speed characteristic field 19 ", the input information for the voltage speed map 19" is supplied by a speed sensor 20 that detects the engine speed. The exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 contains a Wheatstone bridge made up of four resistors 21, 22, 23 and 2k and a differential amplifier 25. The input signals of the differential amplifier 25 are taken from the bridge diagonal between the resistors 21, 23 and 22, 2h . The output of the differential amplifier 25 is connected to the connection point of the resistors 21 and 22 and to the resistor Λ & . The base of the bridge, the connection point of the resistors 23 and 2h, is at ground potential. To detect the exhaust gas temperature, the four bridge resistors are exposed to the exhaust gas emitted by the internal combustion engine 10, which is indicated by an arrow 26.
Figure 2 serves to explain the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 of Figure 1. The basic arrangement of the bridge, consisting of resistors 21, 22, 23 and 2U inclusive the circuit of the differential amplifier 25 corresponds that of Figure 1. In addition, was in the bridge branch with an adjustable resistor 27 is inserted into the resistor 23, which is used as a bridge compensation resistor. The resistance 21 exercising the measuring function should as large a temperature coefficient as possible, all others Resistors located in the bridge have the lowest possible temperature coefficient.

erreichen. The use of such a constant temperature bridge circuit results in the possibility of using more massive resistors, for example film resistors attached to a substrate, as temperature-dependent measuring resistor 21 without reducing the response speed. Since the
Measuring resistor is kept at a constant temperature in this circuit arrangement, it is only necessary to have one

prevent. In this case, very short response times can be achieved with such relatively bulky resistors
reach.
There is also the advantage of great mechanical insensitivity, a possible high Working temperature as well as a bridge structure in uniform technology.
An embodiment of the bridge resistors is shown in Figure 3 indicated, wherein in Figure 3a a plan view and in 3b a section through the arrangement are shown. Of the temperature-dependent measuring resistor 21 is on a substrate 28, for example as a rectangular film resistor appropriate. To support the heating power of the resistor 21, this is also used as a film resistor trained resistor 23 framed. This geometric arrangement of the resistors is then particularly advantageous to wear when the resistors have the same resistance values and ■ approximately the same heating power per unit area. On the one hand, the heat output occurring in this bridge branch is essentially used to heat up the resistor 21 is used and, on the other hand, the special arrangement of the resistor 23 ensures a flat temperature profile over the entire resistance area of 21. The one in FIG Bridge arm resistor designated by 27 is in the exemplary embodiment of Figure 3a is not designed as a separate resistor, since here, for example, there is the possibility of adjust the resistor 23 to the desired value by laser trimming.
Der eine Brückenzweig, bestehend aus den WiderständenIn FIG. 3b, a sectional illustration of FIG. 3a, it is shown that the two other resistors 22 and 2h of the bridge are also attached to the substrate 28. In terms of its geometric shape, resistor 2U is designed like resistor 21 and resistor 22 like resistor 23. One branch of the bridge, consisting of the resistors
Vorteilhaft an dieser Anordnung ist die Tatsache, daß alle Brückenwiderstände in einer einheitlichen Technologie gefertigt und komprimiert auf einem einzigen Substrat 28 angebracht sind.and 2k is on the underside of the substrate, the other branch of the bridge consisting of resistors 21, 23 and 27 is attached to the top of the substrate. The advantage of this arrangement is the fact that all of the bridge resistors are manufactured using a uniform technology and are attached to a single substrate 28 in a compressed manner.
Although the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 responds not only to the exhaust gas temperature but also to the exhaust gas mass flow rate, a measure for the exhaust gas temperature can be obtained in an unambiguous manner from the output signal of the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18. The diagram in FIG. H t, which is valid for the special case of the use of a diesel internal combustion engine, serves to illustrate this fact. In a diesel engine, the exhaust gas mass flow rate is proportional to the speed and independent of the load, ie there is a linear relationship between the speed η and the exhaust gas mass flow rate m, as indicated on the abscissa of FIG. The dependence of the exhaust gas temperature sensor output signal on the speed is taken into account by the voltage speed characteristic map 19, with the aid of which the same speed dependency as the actual value is impressed on the target value of the exhaust gas temperature. This strict proportionality between speed and exhaust gas mass flow does not exist for externally ignited internal combustion engines, but it is also possible to eliminate this dependence of the output voltage of exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 on the mass flow by determining the load condition of the internal combustion engine, for example by measuring the amount of air drawn in. The output voltage of the differential amplifier 15 is thus solely a function of the exhaust gas temperature and is fed as a quantity-determining variable to the element 13 determining the fuel quantity.
Although in the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1 this control of the fuel metering is only carried out when the internal combustion engine is running at full load, i.e. when the switch 1 k designed as a full load switch is closed, it is also possible to regulate the fuel allocation via the exhaust gas temperature in partial load ranges and in idle operation. This should be explained with reference to the figure k ? On the one hand, the relationship between. the exhaust gas temperature T p in full load operation as a function of the speed and, on the other hand, the output voltage of the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 in full load operation as a function of the mass flow rate m and the exhaust gas temperature T ″. The temperature T a of the measuring resistor 21 is assumed here to be constant at 800.degree. The sensor output voltage varies only slightly as a function of the speed, since for low speeds the large temperature difference between the measuring resistor and the exhaust gas temperature takes effect, while for high speeds the large exhaust gas mass flow results in a high output voltage.
Die Sondenausgangsspannung wächst demnach bei vorgegebener Drehzahl mit sinkender Last monoton an.It has now been shown that the sensor output voltage at a given speed having a unique function of the exhaust gas temperature, and this not only for the h shown in FIG Vollastfall, but also to any partial load range. In the partial load range, the exhaust gas temperature is consistently at a lower level than in the full load range, the exhaust gas mass flow rate remains the same depending on the speed, so that due to the increased temperature difference between the measuring resistor temperature and the exhaust gas temperature, higher sensor output voltages occur consistently in the partial load range at a given speed. The probe output voltage therefore increases monotonically at a given speed as the load decreases.
Furthermore, there is the possibility that possibly occurring pulsation mean value errors of the exhaust gas temperature sensor 18 are eliminated by a changed voltage speed map
Heating film sensors are manageable, as the high working temperature of approx. 8OO G ensures that they are burned free.
