Fuel overflow device in the float housing of spray gasifiers
for aircraft engines. The invention relates to a particular arrangement of the overflow device
in the float housing of spray carburetors for vehicle or aircraft engines.
For the fuel in the float housing is depending on the

Fuel removed from the float housing through an overflow device. the
The fuel overflow device used up to now is on the side of the float housing
attached, usually in the form of a tube of the appropriate length, in the simplest
Fall through a hole, which is at the height of the highest permitted fuel level
empties. This device has the disadvantage that with an inclined position of the float housing
or when cornering, when the fuel lays against the side wall, in the
the overflow device is attached, this already flows out without the
to have reached the normal permissible maximum level in the housing. Apart from the loss of fuel,
which becomes noticeable with prolonged inclined position, has the unwanted leakage
the disadvantage, d'ass when going back to the normal horizontal position in the float housing
the fuel level can drop well below what is needed for proper operation
of the engine is necessary. This circumstance can especially with aircraft engines in air combat,
where lean angles of the aircraft and turns are particularly frequent and important,
can be very disastrous if the engine fails. According to the invention, this
serious disadvantage eliminated in such a way that the contacting the fuel level
Overflow opening in the middle or almost in the middle of the float housing
will. From this opening, the overflowing fuel is through a pipe opening
removed downwards and sideways from the float housing.
Fig.2 zeigt einen Schwimmer mit gleichachsig
angeordnetem Überlaufrohr in wagerechter, Fig.3 in schräger Lage.In the accompanying drawing, two embodiments are shown in FIGS
of the subject matter of the invention. In Fig. I is the fuel overflow pipe
attached close to the float needle, while in Fig. 2 and `3 the overflow pipe
is arranged around the float rod. Fig.2 shows an equiaxed swimmer
arranged overflow pipe in a horizontal position, Fig. 3 in an inclined position.

The advantage of the invention is evident. The plane lies down
