Abstract
Description
Brennkraftmaschine, insbesondere Oiesel-Brennkraftmaschine Internal combustion engine, in particular an Oiesel internal combustion engine
The invention relates to an internal combustion engine, in particular to a diesel internal combustion engine, according to the preamble of claim 1.
Especially in diesel internal combustion engines, it is already known by Cooling of the fuel supplied under certain environmental conditions is an improvement to achieve full load performance and a reduction in the pollutants emitted. For this, however, a special heat exchanger is to be provided, which is made of a cooling medium is to be charged. In addition, a controller is required to ensure that this cooling of the fuel only takes place when this is actually done is required. This is particularly important at lower outside temperatures Cooling of the fuel is not necessary. Rather, under these circumstances even difficulties arise, for example due to the deposition of paraffin in the diesel fuel.
The object on which the invention is based is therefore to be seen in an internal combustion engine of the type specified in the preamble of the claim create an effective cooling of the force without any special effort substance only in such operating states is made in which such cooling is advantageous.
The solution to this problem results from the characterizing part of the patent claim 1. According to the invention there is thus a heat exchanger required for cooling the fuel integrated into the coolant circuit of an air conditioning system assigned to the vehicle, so that whenever the air conditioning is switched on, a cooling of the Fuel takes place. However, since air conditioning is only available when the outside temperature is particularly high is switched on, which also increases the temperature of the fuel and thus the power of the internal combustion engine would be reduced, is just then Cooling the fuel makes sense and is advantageous.
It is useful to place the heat exchanger in the area of the coolant compressor to arrange the air conditioning, since this is generally from the internal combustion engine of the vehicle and is thus also arranged in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The heat exchanger can thus be upstream of the coolant compressor in the coolant flow direction be switched on by, for example, a fuel line through which fuel flows on a suction-side pipe on the coolant compressor through which the coolant flows is attached, the two working fluids passing through the heat exchanger in countercurrent.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment based on a schematic circuit diagram the invention shown, which is explained in more detail below. In the drawing 1 is a diesel internal combustion engine of a vehicle, for example a passenger vehicle indicated, the one fueling and distributing the diesel fuel injection pump 2 is assigned. This fuel injection pump 2 takes fuel from a storage tank 3 is supplied via a fuel line 4, while at 6 one is fed to the fuel storage tank returning return line is specified. 5 denote that of the injection pump 2 injection lines leading to the individual cylinders of the internal combustion engine 1.
The drawing also shows an electrical air conditioning system assigned to the vehicle indicated, which has a coolant compressor 8 via a belt drive 11 driven by the internal combustion engine 1 and, for example, electrically actuatable clutch 12 can be switched on. The coolant compressor 8 promotes a Refrigerant, which can consist of Frigen, for example, via a pressure side Coolant line 10 to a condenser 13 and from there via a drying bottle 14 and an expansion valve 15 to an evaporator 16, in which the for cooling the Vehicle interior required cooling capacity is released. From the vaporizer 16, the coolant is returned to the gaseous state via a suction line 9 Refrigerant compressor 8 transported.
With 7 is now a countercurrent flow heat exchanger between the coolant and the fuel indicated, for example by soldering part of the fuel line 4 to the coolant suction line 9, preferably at the entrance to the refrigerant compressor 8 may be formed. That way will whenever the air conditioning system is switched on by switching on the coolant compressor 8 is, at the same time also in the heat exchanger 7, a certain cooling of the to the Injection pump 2 delivered fuel reached. However, since the air conditioning from the vehicle driver is only switched on in such environmental conditions in which increased fuel temperatures are also to be expected, results automatically an effective cooling of the fuel, which leads to an increase in the full load output of the internal combustion engine 1 and to a reduction in the pollutants emitted by it by improving the combustion. By increasing the tractive effort of the internal combustion engine the principles of the vehicle can be significantly improved. Tied together @ the fuel cooling can reduce the most important engine temperatures such as bridge, Coolant and engine oil temperature as well as a reduction in transmission oil and, with supercharged internal combustion engines, the compressor outlet temperatures can be achieved.
For the structural design of the heat exchanger there are Range of possibilities. It might be easiest to get some of the fuel flowed through line 4 directly to the leading to the coolant compressor inlet Solder the coolant suction line 9, the cross-sections of the Lines are adapted accordingly. It is only essential that the connection of the two lines make a thermally conductive contact and that the arrangement is expediently made so that the two working media in countercurrent flow through the heat exchanger to each other.
To keep the amount of fuel to be cooled small and the temperature level to keep low, can, as indicated in the drawing, between the to the The return line 6 leading to the reservoir 3 and the return line 6 leading to the heat exchanger 7 Fuel line 4 feeds the returned fuel directly back into the heat exchanger conductive connecting line 17 which bypasses the storage container 3 may be provided.
