Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for extraction of lecithin from those used in the manufacture of herbal Fats and oils from mucilages by extracting the mucilage with an under Normal conditions (0 ° C, 1 bar) gaseous solvents.
Lecithin is a mixture of different phosphatides, which particularly belong to the group of lecithins and Cephaline belong. Phosphatides are fat-like, soluble in hydrocarbons and insoluble in acetone Triglycerides, in which the phosphoric acid a fatty acid residue and replaced with the OH group of choline, colamine, serine, inosite or one other serine-like base is esterified. Since the Phosphatide in a molecule both lipophilic and hydrophilic as well as acidic and basic groups contain, lecithin is particularly used as an emulsifier used. In addition, lecithin is used as a feed additive as well as for the production of cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations used.
The phosphatides are natural products, which together with animal and vegetable Fats occur, e.g. B. in egg yolk and in the soybean. Especially those by melting, Pressing and / or extracting fruit and Seeds of raw vegetable oils and fats contain more or less phosphatides that by treating those freed from solids raw vegetable oils and fats with water, steam and / or dilute acids as mucilages fail. These mucilages will centrifuged and contain in addition to the phosphatides nor oils or fats, fatty acids, bitter substances and dyes. Which is also called raw lecithin designated mucilages are identified by a Purification process processed to lecithin then for production, processing and preservation of food as well as pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations are used can.
From DE-OS 30 11 185 is a method for extraction of lecithin known from crude lecithin, at which the crude lecithin with a gas related to its pressure and temperature in supercritical state, in an extraction stage is treated, in which then the Extracted supercritical gas phase from the Extraction stage led to a separator stage is where through pressure and / or temperature change separation into gas and extract takes place, and at which the purified lecithin from the extraction stage removed and the gas in the extraction stage is returned. With this procedure are said to be gaseous halogenated extractants Hydrocarbons and gases CO₂, SF₆, N₂O, SO₂, C₂H₆, C₂H₄, C₃H₈ and / or C₃H₆ be used. If CO₂ as an extractant the extraction stage works at a pressure of 72 to 800 bar and a temperature of 31.3 to 100 ° C and the separator stage at a pressure of 10 to 72 bar and a temperature of 10 to 32 ° C. The separated from the supercritical gas phase Extract consists of those present in the raw lecithin Accompanying substances, in particular from fats or oils and water. That from DE-OS 30 11 185 Known methods have the disadvantage that the extraction time, which are preferably 3 to 7 hours is supposed to be quite high, which is caused by a low solubility of the accompanying substances of raw lecithin caused in the supercritical gas phase becomes.
The invention has for its object a method to produce lecithin, the an improved compared to the known method Cleaning performance (shortened extraction time) as well as a physiologically harmless and qualitative delivers high quality end product. Furthermore, with the method according to the invention different mucilages Origin can be processed to lecithin.
The object underlying the invention will by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1 solved.
B. bei T k-2°C).The requirement to work at a lower pressure limit of 2 × p k and an upper temperature limit of < T k states that extraction should be carried out at at least twice the critical pressure or close to below the critical temperature (e.g. at T k - 2 ° C).
The process according to the invention can be used to process mucilages which are obtained when all vegetable fats and oils are obtained. The lecithin produced by the process according to the invention is of high quality and does not have to be bleached, since the extraction with the gaseous solvent under normal conditions takes place at gentle temperatures and in the absence of oxygen. Since according to DE-OS 30 11 185 supercritical gases are to be used for lecithin extraction and according to DE-AS 14 93 190 many organic compounds are particularly readily soluble in supercritical gases, it was extremely surprising that a solvent which was gaseous under normal conditions, the pressure of which supercritical and its temperature is subcritical, dissolves the accompanying substances of crude lecithin better than a supercritical gas, while it does not absorb the phosphatides. Furthermore, it could not be expected that the accompanying substances of the phosphatides would dissolve quickly with high selectivity at a pressure of 2 × T k to 500 bar. The method according to the invention thus has a high separation effect and a high cleaning performance. It is also advantageous that the process according to the invention can be carried out batchwise or continuously.
In a further embodiment of the invention, that as a gaseous solvent carbon dioxide, Ethane and / or ethene or a mixture one or more of these gases with methane, Propane and / or propene is used. These Solvents can be extracted from the extract (accompanying substances of raw lecithin) as well as from the Extraction residue (lecithin) without difficulty quantitatively separated at room temperature and normal pressure be, and it is also possible to use the gases to be recovered largely without loss. The gaseous Solvents behave towards each other the lecithin chemically inert and leave in Lecithin no physiologically harmful residues. It is surprising that the phosphatides in the compressed gaseous solvents are not soluble since these compounds do have a fat-like character and at normal pressure of liquid hydrocarbons (hexane, Petrol).
According to the invention, the separation effect can be in some Cases are increased by the fact that the gaseous Solvent an entrainer, preferably Ethanol. Ethanol is therefore particularly good suitable as an entrainer because there is no lecithin leaves physiologically questionable residues and not quantitatively separated from the lecithin must become. Although methanol, propanol, acetone, Methyl ethyl ketone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, ethyl formate and butanol are suitable as entrainer, if possible, these connections will not use in lecithin extraction to potential Avoid dangers arising from use can result in liquid organic solvents.
The method according to the invention can be special be successfully carried out when the mucus with ethane at 250 to 350 bar and 15 can be extracted to 31 ° C and if the deposition of the extracted substances from the loaded compressed Solvent phase at 30 to 40 bar as well 20 to 40 ° C takes place. Furthermore, the invention Procedure carried out particularly successfully be when the mucilages with carbon dioxide 300 to 500 bar and 5 to 30 ° C are extracted and if the separation of the extracted substances from the loaded compressed solvent phase at 10 to 30 bar and 5 to 30 ° C. That on Lecithin obtained from these two routes has a content at least 90% of acetone insoluble. The Acetone-insoluble content is a measure of the Lecithin content of the final product.
The object of the invention is described below the drawing and an embodiment closer explained.
From a storage tank 1 , the mucilages are conveyed from the pump 2 through the line 3 into the autoclave 4 . The compressed solvent passes through line 5 into the autoclave 4 , where it is led in countercurrent to the mucilage and absorbs water, fatty acids, bitter substances, as well as fats and oils. The following values show that CO₂ has an unexpectedly high solubility for soybean oil at a pressure well above the critical pressure and at a subcritical temperature compared to the liquid and supercritical state.
Löslichkeit von Sojaöl in CO₂ bei:Solubility of soybean oil in CO₂ at:
25°C, 70 bar = 0,1 g Öl/kg CO₂ (flüssig, unterkritisch)
41°C, 350 bar = 1,3 g Öl/kg CO₂ (überkritisch)
25°C, 300 bar = 6,2 g Öl/kg CO₂ (erfindungsgemäße Bedingungen)25 ° C, 70 bar = 0.1 g oil / kg CO₂ (liquid, subcritical)
41 ° C, 350 bar = 1.3 g oil / kg CO₂ (supercritical)
25 ° C, 300 bar = 6.2 g oil / kg CO₂ (conditions according to the invention)
The loaded compressed solvent phase has a lower density than the lecithin phase and leaves the autoclave 4 via line 6 . It is relaxed by the valve 7 in the separator 8 , which is also preceded by a heat exchanger 18 . As a result of the pressure drop or the simultaneous pressure drop and temperature rise, the extracted substances precipitate out of the solvent phase and are removed from the separator 8 via the line 9 . The relaxed and freed from the extract solvent passes from the separator 8 via line 10 into the condenser 11 , where it is liquefied. The liquefied solvent is brought from the compressor 12 to the extraction pressure and from the heat exchanger 13 to the extraction temperature. Solvent losses are compensated for by the fact that solvent is supplied to the extraction circuit from the storage vessel 14 . The entrainer can be metered into the liquefied solvent via the pump 15 from the tank 16 .
The lecithin remains in the autoclave 4 and is obtained either in the form of a powder or a solid block. The lecithin can be removed from the autoclave 4 discontinuously or continuously. In the case of a discontinuous procedure, the autoclave 4 is first depressurized, as a result of which the gaseous solvent residues emerge from the lecithin, which is then mechanically removed from the autoclave 4 . In the case of continuous operation, the lecithin in the form of a suspension continuously flows off via line 17 and is then freed from the solvent. The lecithin only forms a flowable suspension if it is obtained as a powder during extraction. Even a low residual ethanol content makes the lecithin somewhat more flowable. According to the method of the invention, the oil content of the lecithin can be adjusted precisely, which contributes to the quality assurance of the end product.
700 g of mucilage obtained from soybean oil are extracted with 8.9 kg / h of ethane in autoclave 4 at 280 bar and 20 ° C for 45 minutes. The mucilage contained approximately 37% soybean oil and free fatty acids, 62% insoluble in acetone and 1% water. The loaded compressed solvent phase was broken down into its components at 36 bar and 30 ° C.
The extracted oil was continuously removed from the separator 8 and contained small amounts of water and fatty acids as well as 2% acetone-insoluble matter. Reinlecithin, which had a softening point of 54 ° C., was colored yellowish white and contained 92.7% of acetone-insoluble, was removed from autoclave 4 .
The following table contains the critical ones Data on the gaseous gases used to obtain lecithin Solvent.
