Abstract
Plant for compacting compactable radioactive waste. The waste materials are poured into auxiliary drums made of sheet steel and compacted together with the auxiliary drums to form steel jacket moldings. These can be stacked in storage barrels. The system includes a horizontal hydraulic press, which has a horizontal compression chamber and a horizontally operating ram that works against an abutment slide. A loading and unloading device for the bale chamber is located behind the abutment slide. The auxiliary barrels can be moved into the pressing chamber with the loading and emptying device. The ram also serves as an ejector for the steel-shell molded bodies produced, which are thus fed to the loading and unloading device.
Description
The invention relates to a device for carrying out a method for packaging radioactive substances Waste materials in which the radioactive waste materials are compressed into molded bodies and several Shaped body are inserted into a storage barrel made of sheet steel and in which the radioactive waste in Auxiliary drums made of sheet steel are included and are compacted with these to form the molded bodies, according to U.S. Patent 3,129,852.
Eine derartige Vorrichtung ist aus dem Bericht von C. Koning »Automatic Solid-Waste Compaction System«, vorgetragen auf der Tagung »Volume Reduction Techniques for Solid Radioactive Wastes«, Wien, 15. bis 19. Oktober 1979, S. 1 bis 5, bekannt.Such a device is from the report by C. Koning "Automatic Solid-Waste Compaction System", presented at the conference "Volume Reduction Techniques for Solid Radioactive Wastes", Vienna, 15. bis October 19, 1979, pp. 1 to 5, known.
Compressible radioactive waste occurs in particular in nuclear power plants and consists of objects that have become radioactive through exposure to radiation or contamination. It can be waste from textile material, paper or scrap. These waste materials are mostly crushed or incinerated and then compacted in a molding press to form cylindrical shaped bodies, the outline of which is adapted to the interior of the storage barrels. The storage barrels are mostly standardized storage barrels with a volume of 200 to 400 liters, which are made of sheet steel of the appropriate thickness and strength. The moldings are stacked in the storage barrels and poured into them (Chemietng.-Techn, 42 year (1970), issue 9/10. Pages 645 to 653). If one works according to the method described in the main patent 31 29 852, then the waste materials are enclosed in auxiliary drums made of sheet steel and compacted with these to form molded bodies. The storage drums are each filled with a plurality of the molded bodies. The shaped bodies are, as it were, tablets that are layered one on top of the other in the storage barrels. The shaped bodies in the Lagij barrels also function as supporting bodies. In addition, they are also containers for the radioactive waste materials, which consequently are no longer exposed in the storage barrels. In order to deform the radioactive waste materials in the auxiliary drums into shaped bodies and to compress them, very high compression pressures have to be used so that the radioactive waste materials in the shaped bodies are, as it were, compressed into solid bodies. The auxiliary barrels are compressed more or less harmonica-like to form the shaped bodies. In this context, barrel-like containers for receiving radioactive waste are known, the jacket of which has predetermined deformations in the form of corrugations (EP-OS 44 381).
For compressing, packing and packing bulk material, in particular garbage, a device is known (DE-PS 12 77 116) in which a press chamber of a horizontal hydraulic press is arranged below a bulk material container in which a ram works. The press chamber is delimited by a removable abutment arranged in the pressing direction of the press ram. B. a sack, can be ejected. However, such a device is not suitable for packaging radioactive waste in the course of the method described above, because the treatment of the auxiliary drums would lead to operational disruptions.
The invention is based on the object Tugrunde, a device to indicate the packaging of radioactive waste materials that are processed in the context of the procedure according to The main patent can be used and it allows the auxiliary barrels with the radioactive waste materials in a simple manner to compress into moldings and to manipulate them.
Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß in einer liegenden hydraulischen Presse die Preßkammer durch den Preßstempel und einen heb- und senkbaren Widerlagerschieber begrenzt ist, daß in Preßrichtung hinterThis object is achieved in that in a lying hydraulic press the pressing chamber through the ram and a liftable and lowerable abutment slide is limited that behind in the pressing direction
So the abutment slide a device for loading the press with radioactive waste filled auxiliary barrel and is provided for removing the molded body and that the ram as an ejector is set up for the shaped body. In such a device, the device for loading the press can be designed very simply. In the simplest case, it has a loading track and a loading slide for the auxiliary barrel. The loading track can also be used as a removal track, in which case A manipulator for the molded body is arranged above the feed track. It is best to use the auxiliary barrels set up so that they are pushed together like a harmonica when pressed. The Sheath of an auxiliary barrel have nominal deformation formations, which when compacted a harmonica-like Cause pushing together.
Die erreichten Vorteile sind darin zu sehen, daß mit Hilfe der erfindungsgemäßen Anlage im Rahmen desThe advantages achieved are to be seen in the fact that with the help of the system according to the invention within the framework of
Procedure according to the main patent the auxiliary barrels with the filled radioactive waste in a simple manner Way can be compressed in the axial direction to the molded bodies. The system works with its hydraulic press clearly laid out and functionally reliable. With the aids of modern hydraulics The units described can easily be operated in press construction.

The device shown in the figures is used to compact compactable radioactive waste 1. The waste materials are poured into auxiliary drums 2 made of sheet steel soüvie together with the auxiliary drums 2 compressed to form bodies 3. These molded bodies 3 are in storage drums in the manner described at the outset stackable. This procedure corresponds to the subject of the main patent. To this procedure to carry out in a simple manner, the device has a horizontal hydraulic press 4, 5, 6. This has a horizontal press chamber 4 and a press ram 5 operating horizontally. The ram 5 works against an abutment slide 6, which lifts in the direction of the double arrow 7 and can be lowered and thereby removed from its position in front of the pressing chamber 4. In the working direction of the ram 5 behind the abutment slide 6 is a device 8 for loading and emptying the compression chamber 4. With the help of this device 8, an auxiliary barrel 2 can be removed with the abutment slide 6 are introduced into the pressing chamber 4, as shown in FIG. 1 is shown. F i g. 2 shows the compression process. F i g. 3 makes it clear that the molded bodies 3 produced by compaction with the aid of the device 8 can be removed, the ram 5 working at the same time as an ejector for the molded body 3. The establishment 8 preferably consists of a loading track 9 and a loading slide 10. The working direction of the loading slide 10 is in F i £. 1 by arrow 11 been hinted at. The loading track 9 also serves as a removal track. Located above the loading conveyor 9 a manipulator 12, which is set up to manipulate the molded body 3, and a gripper can exist.
In order to ensure proper operation and in particular to ensure that the molded body 3 can be easily pushed out of the compression chamber 4, it is advisable to use the auxiliary barrels 2 in particular set up. In this regard, reference is made to FIG. 4 referenced. One recognizes an auxiliary barrel 2 from a jacket 13 with welded bottom 14 and attachable cover 15. The jacket 13 has predetermined deformation formations 16, which cause a harmonica-like pushing together when compressed in the axial direction.
