Description
The invention is based on a system of the type of the main claim. They are systems for the past tion of noise in television signals known, at wel chen the television signals delayed by one frame and after evaluation with a correction factor rated instantaneous television signals added will. The effect of these known systems is based on that differences from one television frame to the next be averaged out. However, this averaging has not only the desired noise reduction, but also a move resultant blur. It is therefore necessary to Movements to reduce the effect of averaging. There are that is, to provide means which differentiate between the differences and effects caused by the noise enable.
For this purpose, it is known (US 40 58 836), the difference between the instantaneous and the delayed television signal form and the result over a swell value management. It is assumed that the noise in the television signal is relatively low while there are major differences in movements, which be forwarded and the system for reducing the Control noise in such a way that its effect is reduced becomes. These systems have the disadvantage that movements are not taken into account in low-contrast scenes and thus subjected to the reduction process like the noise will. Moving edges appear blurred.
In another known arrangement (DE 29 37 284 A1) it is assumed that small picture details in Bewe conditions cannot be grasped by the eye. A low pass for the movement signal in the horizontal direction and / or Vertical direction suppresses the corresponding noise share in the motion signal. This known arrangement has the Disadvantage that noise peaks with low low-pass filtering act on the level of noise reduction because they act as Motion can be detected. The noise reduction is in the This case is controlled by the noise itself and results in the picture a coarse-grained structural disorder that may disrupt more than the original noise. With strong low-pass filtering motion details are suppressed, and a sharpness ver lust in moving parts of the picture becomes visible.
To avoid these disadvantages, a System for reducing noise in a television si gnal with a full screen memory and a motion detector Tor already proposed (DE 31 21 597 A1), the the signal representing the movement via a low-pass filter and / or to direct a threshold circuit whose limit frequency or its threshold as a function of noise amplitude is controllable. This ensures that at small noise amplitude in the input signal no disturbing Motion blurs occur while experiencing greater intoxication amplify a self-control of the noise reduction by the noise itself is prevented. However, this must with a high noise component a loss of detail solution in moving parts of the picture.
The present invention is therefore the object the basis for a system of the type mentioned at the beginning a better distinction between noise signal and To ensure motion signal.
The system according to the invention with the characteristic note painting the main claim has the advantage that even with a high noise component in the television signal Loss of detail resolution in moving parts of the image as a result of the noise-reduced motion signal no longer occurs.
Es zeigtAn embodiment of the invention is in the drawing shown and in the description below explained. It shows
Fig. 1 ein Blockschaltbild des erfindungsgemäßen Systems, Fig. 1 is a block diagram of the system according to the invention,
Fig. 2 is a block diagram of the motion detector contained therein.
In Fig. 1, the television signal, the noise component of which is to be reduced, is at terminal 1 . About the adder circuit 2 it comes to a delay device 3 , which delays the television signal by the duration of a frame ( τ 2 V ) ver. Such delay devices are sufficiently known and are advantageously realized with the aid of a digital frame memory. The delayed signal pending at the output of the delay device 3 is passed to a subtracting circuit 4 , by means of which the undelayed signal at terminal 1 is subtracted from the delayed signal. The output of the subtracting circuit 4 is connected via a multiplier circuit 6 to a further input of the adding circuit 2 . Thus, the arrangement consisting of the circuits 2, 3, 4, 6 acts as a so-called recursive filter, which averages and thus reduces the signal amplitudes that do not repeat from frame to frame.
The degree of this averaging is determined by a factor k fed to the multiplier circuit 6 . The closer k approaches the value 1, the stronger the effect of the filter, the greater the time over which the averaging (integration) takes place. At the terminal 7 , the television signal can be removed with reduced noise. With still images, a practically unlimited noise reduction is possible if the integration is of any length.
In the case of moving images, however, the integration leads to un-sharpening on edges, so that it must be reduced if movements occur in the image. For this purpose, a so-called Be motion detector 8 is provided, which is also supplied to the television signal at terminal 1 . The output of the motion detector 8 is connected to the input of a circuit 9 for generating the correction factor k .
The circuit of the motion detector 8 is shown in Fig. 2 is. This essentially also consists of a circuit for noise reduction, the input signal from terminal 1 in FIG. 1 being fed via terminal 11 in FIG. 2 to the noise reduction circuit. This signal is also fed via a further adder 12 to a delay device 13 , which delays the signal by the duration of a full frame. The delayed signal is now fed to a further subtraction stage 14 , with the aid of which the undelayed signal is subtracted from the delayed one. The output of the subtra stage 14 is connected via a further multiplier circuit 16 to the other input of the adder circuit 12 . The multiplier circuit 16 is also fed a factor k for averaging. The circuit 19 for generating correction factor is controlled by an auxiliary movement detector 18 . This consists essentially of a difference-forming device, with the aid of which the difference between the undelayed signal and the signal delayed by one frame is formed. Since the influence on the noise reduction is to be independent of the sign of the change in the image content, the difference is formed in the motion detector 18 . Depending on the size of the change, a correction factor k for the degree of noise reduction is generated in the circuit 19 .
With this circuit described so far, it is possible to take an undelayed and a television signal delayed television signal with reduced noise at points 21 and 22 and to supply one input to a difference and absolute value formation circuit 23 . At the output 24 of this circuit 23 , a noise-reduced movement signal can then be removed, with which the correction factor generation of the circuit 9 in FIG. 1 can be controlled. By using a noise-reduced movement signal for generating correction factors, a television signal with reduced noise and reduced drag and carryover effects is obtained at the output 7 of FIG. 1.
