Abstract
The invention relates to audiometers with a (2, 3) sound generator with adjustable spectral composition and / or level and a display (40) of these values fed to the ear (51) via one or more electroacoustic transducers (29Δ, 30Δ, 33). In hearing examinations carried out with it, the problem has arisen that the set and displayed sound value occasionally does not reach the ear either. Such a deficiency can lead to incorrect diagnoses. The invention therefore provides for setting, test sound and display to be brought into harmony. For this purpose, a measuring probe (29ΔΔ, 30ΔΔ, 32Δ and 50) effective on the ear (51) is provided, with its signal display (26Δ) and the sound actually supplied to the ear by the transducer (29Δ, 30Δ, 33) being brought into agreement. The probe can also be used, for example, to determine the interfering noise arriving at the ear during pauses in measurement and, if necessary, to prevent any harmful influence on the measurement. An audiometer improved according to the invention is particularly suitable for the automatic creation of audiograms.
Description
This is a constructive solution that is preferable because of its robustness is, even if its application is limited to long wavelengths, because only in this range the Volume enclosed by the headphones can be regarded as a pressure chamber. £ in across the entire Interesting range of frequencies sufficient measurement location can be achieved by placing a on the listener plastically deformable bracket is attached, with the the microphone can be brought to a location on or in the ear canal. Another, also favorable arrangement is achieved by an open ear fitting (retaining ring), in which the microphone is attached to an extension is attached, which extends into the ear canal When using an annular earmold can As a measuring probe, a tube can also be inserted into the ear, the <m its end the receiving opening and at its other end located outside the ear carries it into the microphone. These designs are particular Well suited for testing walking by means of sound that is passed to a test person from a loudspeaker becomes, because the open earmold makes it unimpeded Access of sound to the ear is possible. If a miniature microphone is used, this can can be attached directly to the above-mentioned extension, whereby a separate sound tube (probe) can be omitted and the hose resonances that occur with such a hose are avoided.
An audiometer equipped according to the invention can advantageously have a display panel, in which rows and columns arranged one below the other and next to one another, electrically controllable Display points, such as light sources, are present. A purely electrical transmission is the Measured values on the display panel possible. This display shows the level values measured electrically at the ear can be easily displayed in the columns assigned to the frequencies.
As with the audiometer, which is assumed to be known above, display elements on the individual Grid points of the matrix can be used for all known controllable light sources, such as incandescent lamps, Light emitting diodes etc. Other controllable signal elements such as liquid crystal display cells or are electromechanically changeable color points, for example by moving a color plate behind a screen undoubtedly applicable, as well as other readable displays.
The sound signals detected with the aid of the measuring probe can be used to oppose the display the selected setting according to the sound signal actually present at the ear (level, frequency, spectral composition). On the other hand, with the recorded sound signal, the presented Sound signal can be regulated so that it corresponds to the target value set on the audiometer. This is especially important for audiometers with an automatic measuring process. In this embodiment of the Examination can be done without direct control of the test person, so that in the case of irregularities that are about on a change in sound transmission z. B. based on a shift in the headphones, im Audiogram deviations appear, which can possibly be interpreted as hearing defects.
Another advantage of the invention is that with the probe, the disturbing noise actually present at the ear can be measured and taken into account in the sound presentation. You can z. B. the continuation pause the investigation until a suitable sound ratio occurs.

While in speech audiometry only level corrections are usually made, by adding a correction value generator 2 " for the pitch, the pitch can also be corrected in an analogous manner. Only the rms meter needs to be replaced by a frequency counter. For examining the hearing of a test person the device is first put into operation by means of a power switch 28 attached to a circuit board 27. Then the left handset 29 'or a switch 30 the right handset of a copy earphone 30' as an electroacoustic output transducer and at the same time the one with the The second switch 31 or 31 'of a sound measuring probe 29 "or 30" connected to the first switch is switched on. Something similar can be achieved when a loudspeaker 33 is switched on via a switch 33 ', with which a switch 32 for a measuring probe 32' is closed at the same time, so that in this case too a correction signal is obtained when a signal is transmitted to the ear.
As after switching on a pushbutton switch 3, the test subject can use a, in a known manner, via a flexible cable retracted into the device, not shown separately in the drawing
geschlossenen Druckknopfschalter 35 die Anzeige betätigen, sobald er ein für ihn hörbares Signal wahrnimmt.closed push button switch 35 actuate the display as soon as he perceives a signal audible to him.
In the present case, the values appearing in the setting display windows 37 and 38 should be 250 Hz and 30dB represent a signal which should appear in the line grid 39 of an audiogram card at the intersection of the lines 30 dB and 250 Hz. In the F i g. 2, however, the illuminated point 26 'is at a value which indicates less than 30 dB. This shift is based on the effect of the action generated in the correction value transmitter 3 ″ and acting on the display Correction factor.
On the edge of the grid 39 two-adjusting fixing spikes are mounted 41 and 42 which serve to simple geometric synchronizing a audiogram card 40 to the panel 11 by having the card 40 at the location of holes, the cases in properly placing euf ui £ Oornc 41 and 42 .
Die elektrische Funktion des Audiometers ergibt sich analog zu den bekannten Audiometern daraus, daß das aus den Wandlern 5 und 6 kommende Signal in eine an sich bekannte Ansteuerungselektronik kommt, welche aus den jeweils in den Bündeln 9 und 10 vorhandenen Leitungen jeweils diejenigen auswählt, die den mittels der Einstellung der Stellelemente 2' und 3' gewählen Frequenzen und Lautstärken und der Korrektur der letzteren durch den Korrekturwert aus dem Korrekturwertgeber 3" entsprichtThe electrical function of the audiometer results from the fact that the from the transducers 5 and 6 coming signal comes in a known control electronics, which from the lines present in each of the bundles 9 and 10 each selects those that use the the setting of the control elements 2 'and 3' selected frequencies and volumes and the correction of the corresponds to the latter by the correction value from the correction value transmitter 3 "
This then acts via the control electronics 8 by the control device in the event of a deviation in the the sound signal measured by the probe 29 "(or 30" or 32 ') from the setpoint value set on the adjusters 2', 3 'the signal lamp of the display Unit 11 switches on which corresponds to the sound signal actually present at the ear
In FIG. 3 shows the arrangement of a measuring probe on an earpiece 29 *. a radiation of sound to the outside preventing part 52 of the receiver 29 'attached when exiting Scarf! From the opening 53 of the listener, the volume and, if necessary, also the spectral composition can be determined directly, which the auditory passage 54 of the ear 51 is supplied. A signal generated in this sense can be via a line 55 the Kon-ekturwertbildner 3 "(Fig. 1) are fed.
In an analogous manner, according to FIG. 4 the microphone 50 is attached to an adjustable holder 56 which in turn lies on the part 52 of the receiver 29 '. insert the microphone into the ear canal 54 and fix the prevailing volume there. From A signal can be sent to the correction value generator 3 'from this microphone 50 via a line 51.
Diese Anordnung ist so raumsparend ausgeführt daß der Durchtritt des Schalls zumIn the F i g. 5 and 6, an annular ear fitting 32 is used as a holder for the measuring probe Ear mold 32 in a known manner has a shape that engages behind ear folds and thus finds a hold in the ear As a result, the fitting piece 32 can receive a holder or an extension 63 pointing into the auditory canal 54, at the end of which a microphone 50 is attached. With this arrangement, sound in the channel 54 in the microphone 50 can be converted into an electrical signal, which is then transmitted via a line 64 as with the others Arrangements of the correction device 3 'or 2 * can be supplied. This arrangement is designed to save space that the passage of sound to
This causes the use of the sound probe 32 ', 29 "and 30" can also be used as a probe for the determination of disturbing noise present at the ear. The correction generator 3 "is set so that in the intervals between the measurements of the background noise and measured when a value is exceeded that is in the order of magnitude of the measurement sound comes, the level of the sound generated at the sound transducers 29 ', 30' and 33 to zero is regulated back until the background noise has moved back below the harmful range
