Description
The invention relates to a method for producing fine mica boards for electrical insulation purposes Sieving process from ground mica dispersed in an aqueous pulp and powdered silicone resin and subsequent drying and pressing at elevated temperatures.
From CH-PS 2 68 295 it is already known to produce a flexible insulating material in that a heat-treated, viscous spruce tar, optionally containing a hardening agent, is used as the binder applies to mica flakes and these with at least one film of fiber material, for example combined with strong paper, fiberglass or asbestos fabric To improve the mechanical properties, in particular To increase the tensile and tear strength of such products, the mica paste according to AT-PS 1 82 670 added glass fiber particles and the mixture then treated further in a known manner Glass fiber reinforcement is also the subject of DE-GM 12 622, namely in one made of fine mica parts, Binding agent and reinforcement insert existing board for the production of heating elements in the direction of the board plane made of raw glass and arranged all around with silicone resin coated glass fibers.
Feinglimmertafeln erreicht wird.CH-PS 3 355 826 describes a process for the production of multilayer mica products, where mica flakes are slurried and a binder is added to this slurry in order to coat the mica flakes on all sides, whereupon these mica flakes are then dried and applied to a substrate to be coated. In addition, it has long been known to glue split mica together with a binder, including synthetic resins of the phenolic, epoxy and silicone resin type, in order to obtain sheets of suitable size and strength in this way. A further development in this area consisted of replacing the split mica with mica paper which, after being soaked in a resin solution, was dried and pressed into tafeta. In addition, further processes were developed in order to obtain tablets of the desired thickness from ground mica in the sieving process using an aqueous pulp which, after drying, was soaked in a resin solution, dried again and then pressed. This production method was particularly successful;> · a further development in that the ground mica in the aqueous pulp was additionally mixed with powdered silicone resin and a silicone hardener in powder form and the sheets obtained in the sieving process were then pressed under the action of heat after drying.
This last-mentioned process has improved the production of fine mica boards as a whole, but this process still has considerable disadvantages, which are primarily based on the fact that the silicone resin powder and the powdery hardener are only mixed with one another shortly before the production of the boards, and in quantities of the order of 10% silicone resin powder and 1% powdery silicone hardener, each based on mica. These additives to the aqueous pulp are consequently used in very different amounts. In addition, the specific weights of these additives show so great differences that when mixing the various components in the aqueous pulp, considerable difficulties are triggered by the fact that the hardener in particular is only distributed very unevenly, which results in a likewise uneven and often insufficient curing of the silicone resin powder within of the solidified mica tablets noticeable A switch to liquid silicone resins and liquid catalysts or accelerators fails with the method described, since these are not suitable for the powder-sieve method using an aqueous pulp, which is favorable per se.
The invention is based on the object of making available a method for producing fine mica boards for electrical insulation purposes, with which a uniform hardening is achieved over the entire surface when pressing the fine mica boards produced by the screening process.
Die überraschende Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist ein Verfahren der eingangs geschilderten Art, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man zunächst ein Trägermaterial in Form einzelner Teilchen oder in Form von Fasern mit einem flüssigen Silicon, einer Siliconölemulsion oder einer Siliconharzlösung unter Zusatz von für diese Siliconmaterialien üblichen flüssigen oder gelösten Härtungskatalysatoren und/oder -beschleunigern durch Tränken imprägniert, das imprägnierte Trägermaterial trocknet und gegebenenfalls zerkleinert und anschlie-Bend mit dem pulverförmigen Siliconharz, dem pulverförmigen Härter und dem gemahlenen Glimmer in der wäßrigen Pulpe vermischt und diese dann in an sich bekannter Weise im Siebverfahren zu einer Tafel formtThe surprising solution to this problem is a method of the type described above, which thereby is characterized in that first a carrier material in the form of individual particles or in the form of fibers with a liquid silicone, a silicone oil emulsion or a silicone resin solution with the addition of silicone materials for these customary liquid or dissolved curing catalysts and / or accelerators Impregnated soaking, the impregnated carrier material dries and, if necessary, crushed and then bend with the powdery silicone resin, the powdery hardener and the ground mica in the mixed with aqueous pulp and then shaped into a sheet in a manner known per se in the screening process
und diese bei erhöhten Temperaturen und Drucken verpreßt and pressing them at elevated temperatures and pressures
As liquid silicones, silicone oil emulsions or silicone resin solutions All starting materials can be used, which are in the presence of liquid or dissolved and the usual catalysts and / or accelerators for curing these silicone materials. Both the mentioned silicone materials including the solvents for silicone resins, such as Aromatic hydrocarbons as well as the usual suitable hardeners are known to the person skilled in the art and do not require any further explanation here.
As carrier materials to be impregnated, in particular glass fibers and finely divided metals or Metal fibers, finely divided plastics or synthetic fibers and rock wool can be used. aside from that it is possible to use mica itself as a carrier material, the carrier materials mentioned can also be used in combination.
In carrying out the method according to the invention It has proven particularly useful to mill 60 to 80% by weight of untreated pulp in the aqueous pulp Mica, 5 to 30% by weight silicone resin powder, 0.5 to 5% by weight of powdered silicone hardener and 5 to 10% by weight of the impregnated, dried and optionally to use shredded carrier material.
The method according to the invention not only makes the production of fine mica boards for electrical insulation purposes by the powder-sieve process safer and easier, but above all it is also possible to save energy and costs, since there is practically no waste. In addition, a particularly good connection is established between the silicone resin powder and silicone-impregnated carrier material when the boards are pressed, which contributes to the mechanical strength of the fine mica board of the pressing process and allow a reduction in pressing temperature, pressing pressure and pressing time. Particularly important and advantageous compared to the previously practiced methods, however, in the method according to the invention is the fact that the mixing of the powdery, comminuted or ground components in the aqueous pulp is extremely uniform so that a much more uniform cured end product is then obtained when the mica sheet is formed by the screening process and when pressed at high temperatures and pressures; because with the previous methods such an even distribution of the hardener which has not yet been converted has not been possible. Precisely the uniform hardening of the formed board during pressing at all points on the fine mica board is of particular importance with regard to the later punching out of this board, in which precisely running edges, incisions and perforations must be obtained in a uniform and perfectly clean shape.
