Abstract

The circuit is intended to simplify the recognition of the subscriber when the hand set is lifted. A circuit comprising a resistor (R1) and two field effect transistors (FET1, FET2) is connected across the lines inside the instrument. The FET gates are connected to a control unit (AS). When identified, the exchange switches on the operating voltage whereupon the impulse generator in the selector system (TWB) becomes active. Impulses are transmitted to the control unit (AS), rectified and applied to the FET gate circuits. The FETs become non- conducting and the path reverts to a high impedance state. Normal operation can then proceed. The FET controlled circuit bypasses the bridge rectifier (GB) in the instrument which has a high impedance tothe recognition voltage, and would not pass sufficient current to operate the exchange equipment without complicated extra circuitry.
