"Verfahren zum Aufrechterhalten der biologischen Aktivität und Adaptation der Biozönose einer biologischen Abluftnaßreinigungsanlage in Stillstandszeiten" "Methods of Maintaining Biological Activity and Adaptation the biocenosis of a biological waste air cleaning system during downtimes "
DE-OS'n 26 56 689, 25 kl 675, 20 20 207, US-PS 22 00 58I1 FR-OS 21 75 929, NL-OS 71 02 133)οThe purification of exhaust air by washing it out with water, for example in trickle or spray towers, and breaking down the pollutants absorbed by biological oxidation is well known and is widely used. The dissolved or colloidal organic compounds and partly also inorganic compounds are used as a source of food and oxidized by microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, protozoa) found on the trickle bodies or in the wastewater (see DE-OS'n 26 56 689, 25 kl 675, 20 20 207, US-PS 22 00 58I 1 FR-OS 21 75 929, NL-OS 71 02 133) ο

For example, at night or on the weekend, the biocenosis must be kept alive artificially by supplying food and oxygen. It is advantageous if the nutrient solution also contains substances that are to be broken down during the operating times of the system in order to avoid any deadaption phenomena of the biocenosis that lead to a reduction in the biological decomposition rate (see, for example, DE-OS 26 56 689, p 15; DE-OS 20 20 207, page k). The production of such nutrient solutions is difficult, however, because on the one hand the type and concentration of the exhaust air composition is often unknown and on the other hand it is subject to constant fluctuations caused by smaller or larger production changes. The nutrient solution should therefore generally also have a constantly changing composition, which in practice proves to be impracticable.
There is therefore the task of maintaining the biological activity and adaptation of a biocenosis during downtimes the exhaust air purification system by supplying a nutrient solution to maintain that in its composition always dem corresponds to the current status of the exhaust gas composition.
This object is achieved by the method described in the patent claims.
The biological waste air wet cleaning system is prewashed upstream with water. The gaseous and vaporous exhaust air contents dissolve in the washing water of the pre-washing stage substances to saturation. This is differentiated depending on the substances contained in the exhaust air and their concentration.

lieh schnell erreicht. Normally, however, only pass a few hours. The pre-wash takes place in a manner known per se, e.g. by passing the gases through a spray or Trickle tower in which the pre-wash liquid is pumped around or by bubbling the gases through the prewash liquid. The pre-wash can be carried out in a separate part of the system or integrated in the absorber of the biological stage occur. The amount of pre-washing liquid is expediently measured in such a way that the amount of substances contained in the exhaust air dissolved in it sufficient to feed the biocenosis during downtimes. However, it is also possible to use the Biocenosis further nutrients known per se such as sugar, milk powder, phosphates, etc., advantageously together with the Add prewash liquid. The substances contained in the exhaust air in this case no longer represent the sole source of nutrients, but only serve to counteract any signs of deadaptation to push back the biocenosis. In this case, the amount of pre-wash liquid in the Prewash level can be kept lower.
If the exhaust air also contains dust in addition to odor-intensive gaseous or vaporous ingredients, the A dedusting takes place in the prewash stage. It can therefore be applied to the often required dedusting stage before entering the exhaust air purification system can be dispensed with. Through the pre-wash stage the exhaust air entering the exhaust air purification system is saturated with water vapor at the same time. The failure Limescale and the salt build-up in the washing water can thus be kept away from the biological cleaning stage. With high dust contents in the exhaust air, a mechanical,

If necessary, chemical pre-clarification (settling, flocculation) of the pre-wash water from the pre-wash stage before use become necessary as a nutrient solution. If larger amounts of washing liquid occur in the prewash stage than during the downtimes, the main wash stage can be reduced can, of course, the excess of pre-wash liquid can also be fed to the main washing stage during operation and dismantled there.
Strongly fluctuating levels of pollutants in the exhaust air during operation are caused by de- and absorption processes in the pre-wash stage largely balanced, which means load peaks can be intercepted for the biological system. This creates a more even load on the biological Stage achieved with an improved efficiency.
