Windshield wiper, device for removing rainwater from windshields on vehicles, characterized in that the water wiped down by the windshield wiper is removed before it can be pushed upwards into the driver's field of vision by the wind.
This is done
  • 1. by means of a form-stable and weather-resistant tube ( 2 ) attached tightly and parallel to the lower side of the wiper blade ( 1 ).
When used on the wipers of conventional passenger cars, the inside diameter is approx. 7 mm.
There are small suction holes ( 3 ) along the entire underside of the tube. The two ends of the tube are closed. The tube is connected to a flexible hose, which runs through the body near the rotating wiper axis and which runs close to the rotating wiper axis, via a suction connection ( 16 ), which is located in the center of the wiper blade, and which guides the water sucked up through the suction holes via pressure-stable hose lines ( 11 ) to the road .
The water drawn off at the windscreen wiper is drained off to the road
  • 2.1.1. Via an electric suction pump ( 5 ) that can be switched on manually or electronically by coupling windshield wiper activity and driving speed (e.g. over 80 km / h), as used, for example, as a battery-operated secretion suction pump in emergency medicine.
Alternatively, the water is drained off to the road
  • 3. 1.2. via a suction wind funnel ( 6 ) made of smooth, corrosion-resistant material, which has the shape of a funnel with an opening angle of approx. 15 degrees.
It is attached to the underside of the body at a location exposed to the wind in the front area of the vehicle. The larger funnel opening points in the direction of travel. At the smaller funnel opening, several rigid tubes ( 8 ), tapered at the top at an angle of approximately 30 degrees, protrude into the lumen in such a way that negative pressure and suction develop on the tubes pointing outwards.
The other end of the pointed tube is connected to the perforated tube ( 2 ) on the windshield wiper via pressure-stable hose lines.
The windshield removal of windshields is an alternative
  • 4. by a non-slip applied over the entire width in the lower region of the windshield, dimensionally stable and weather-resistant, as transparent as possible about 3 cm wide, "Y" -shaped strip ( 9 ), which at the lower end of a "Y" leg approx. 10 mm long and approx. 3 mm wide slots ( 10 ) is provided.
This strip is applied with its back ( 12 ) on the windshield so that it lies flat against the windshield at its upper edge ( 13 ) and that the wiper blades come to rest in the starting position on the perforated "Y" leg ( 14 ) . This "Y" leg, which rises like a ski jump about 1 cm above the level of the pane, is the upper part of a rounded channel ( 15 ) of approximately 10 mm in height. This channel has a depth of approx. 1 cm up to the slots.
