Description
DachrinneGutter
5The invention relates to a gutter for attachment to an external end of a pitched roof.
5
Such gutters are well known and usually have a rounded, semi-circular cross-section, but those with a substantially rectangular cross-section are also known. Gutters are usually attached to the side ends of a normal pitched roof or the like and are used to collect the water flowing off the roof in order to lead it into a downpipe. However, it can sometimes happen that the drain to the downpipe is blocked, for example as a result of leaves falling into the gutter, or that too much water flows into the gutter as a result of very heavy rainfall and can no longer be completely drained away via the downpipe. The water then flows out over the upper edge of the gutter, which is away from the side of the roof. In such cases, it can happen that the overflowing water does not simply run vertically downwards, but instead travels along the bottom of the gutter to its lowest point due to adhesive forces, i.e. flows towards the house wall or similar. It then drips off in the lower part of the gutter - in relation to the cross-section - and ultimately hits the house wall. If, for example, windows are provided there, they will get wet, and there is also the risk that, in the case of a tilted window, the overflowing water will flow violently into the interior of the room through the tilted window. This can lead to considerable water damage if it is noticed too late. On the other hand, it is generally undesirable for this water, which in principle should be drained away, to hit the house wall at all.
The invention is therefore based on the problem of specifying a gutter that provides a remedy for this problem.
For this purpose, the invention provides for a gutter to be installed on the outside at the end of a pitched roof, that on the side facing away from the roof
On the side of the gutter facing away from the roof side, a projection is provided.
The gutter according to the invention advantageously has a web-like projection at the end remote from the roof, which protrudes from the gutter and forms a sort of drainage edge. The overflowing water flows - in relation to the gutter cross-section - essentially along the projection to its free-standing end, where it drips downwards, and this advantageously prevents further flow along the underside of the gutter due to adhesion. The water cannot therefore move in the direction of the house wall; instead, the projection provided according to the invention causes it to actually drip down the outside side of the gutter. The problems mentioned at the beginning are advantageously avoided with the gutter according to the invention.
The projection can be arranged adjacent to the upper edge of the gutter, or alternatively the projection can be arranged adjacent to a roll-up on the upper side of the gutter, whereby this roll-up essentially forms the edge-side gutter closure.
According to the invention, the projection can protrude at an angle of 60° or less relative to the horizontal. The angle should be as small as possible so that the overflowing water is directed as far away from the underside of the gutter as possible. If the angle is too steep, there is also the problem that strong wind drifts can blow the water dripping from the projection, which then drips relatively close to the gutter, onto the wall of the house.
Hierdurch werden mehrere Ablaufstellen geschaffen, nämlichAccording to the invention, the projection itself can extend over the entire length of the gutter. Since gutters are arranged at a slight incline relative to the horizontal in the direction of the downpipe, and the projection also takes on this incline, it has proven to be useful if the projection is interrupted several times to form shorter projection sections over the length of the gutter. This creates several drainage points, namely
The overflowing water can also flow along the projection due to the slight incline of the projection, which in the case of an uninterrupted projection can sometimes lead to a large part only flowing away in the end area of the projection. However, if the projection is interrupted several times, several drainage points are created - in relation to the length of the gutter - so that the possible longitudinal flow of water is also interrupted and dripping is possible.
According to the invention, the projection itself can consist of two sections that run at an angle to one another. In addition to the projection being integrally formed on the gutter, the projection can also form a separate element from the gutter and can be attached to the gutter using fastening means, which makes it easy to retrofit existing gutters. The projection can be clamped to the free end of the gutter with the curl, for example, using suitable clamp hooks or the like. All fastening options are conceivable here.

Dort ist eine im Querschnitt halbkreisförmige Dachrin-To illustrate the problem underlying the invention, Fig. 4 is first described. There, a roof gutter with a semicircular cross-section is
Ist dieses nun gekippt oder geöffnet, kann es zu beachtlichen Wasserschäden führen.ne 1 is shown, which - shown here only in the form of a schematic diagram - is attached to the end area of a sloping roof 2. The gutter 1 has a curl 3 at the free end, away from the roof side. If the water 4 guided in the gutter 1 rises, it comes out sideways when it reaches a certain level and flows over the curl 3. As a result of adhesive forces, the overflowing water 4 is guided on the outside 5 of the gutter 1 and flows downwards until the water flow stops. As a result of the movement component this imparts in the direction of the house wall 6, in which a window 7 can be provided, for example, the running water flows to the house wall 6 and into the area of the window 7. If this is now tilted or opened, it can lead to considerable water damage.
The problem is remedied by means of the gutters shown in Fig. 1 - 3. Fig. 1 shows a gutter 8 according to the invention, on whose outside edge 9 facing away from the roof side a projection 10 is provided. This projection 10 consists of two legs 11, 12. Water 13 overflowing from the gutter flows off via the projection 10. The projection 10 is arranged so as to protrude from the gutter and the roof side. The water flow breaks off at the outside projection edge. A continuation on the underside of the gutter, as is possible in the state of the art according to Fig. 4, is thereby avoided.
Fig. 2 zeigt eine zweite erfindungsgemäße Dachrinne 14. Fig. 2 shows a second gutter 14 according to the invention. This has a curl 16 on the gutter edge 15 that is located away from the roof side, on which the projection 17 is provided. In this embodiment, too, the water is led away from the underside of the gutter.
A third embodiment is finally shown in Fig. 3. The gutter 18 shown there has a substantially rectangular cross-section. Here too, a projection 20 is provided on the edge 19 remote from the roof side, which projection also consists of two legs 21, 22.
Daneben ist es möglich, die Vor-The projections of each of the designs shown in Fig. 1 to 3 extend over the entire length of the gutter. In addition, it is possible to
Jumps along the length of the gutter can be interrupted several times to create separate drip points - seen in the longitudinal direction of the gutter. It is also possible to design the projection as a separate element and subsequently attach it to an existing gutter using suitable fasteners, as shown in Fig. 4.
