Die Erfindung schafft die Voraussetzungen dafür, daß ein solches Gerät klein und handlich ist und mit Batterien oder Akkumulatoren betrieben werden kann. Da solche Geräte meist unter freiem Himmel benutzt werden, sind sie mit Solarzellen ausgestattet, so daß die Nachladung der Akkumulatoren mittels des Solarnetzteils erfolgen kann. Kernpunkt der Erfindung sind die Datenspeicher für topografische-, touristische- und Werbedaten, die sämtliche Daten eines eng begrenzten Touristikgebietes enthalten, so daß sehr kleine und energiesparende Speichermedien verwendet werden können. Beim Wechsel des Touristikgebietes können die betreffenden Speicher direkt über Datenschnittstellen oder mittels eines CD-ROM-Laufwerks und einer CD-ROM oder anderer Datenspeichermedien neu beschrieben werden.Traffic information systems based on topographical data that are compared with location data are currently used in motor vehicles as non-stationary systems.
