[GBM121B5][GBM121B5]
Anordnung zur Förderung eines flüssigen oder viskosen Mediums aus einem Füllgutbehälter Arrangement for conveying a liquid or viscous medium from a filling material container
The present invention relates to an arrangement for conveying a liquid or viscous medium from a filling material container when filling the medium into containers.
It is known to use an impeller pump placed in a filling material container for filling liquid or viscous media, for example when filling paint into commercially available cans. If the dosing of the medium to be filled is to be carried out by a volume flow-controlled machine, the precision of the pump delivery rate and the constancy of the media flow introduced from the filling material container into a filling line are of particular importance. It is therefore known to position the impeller pump used to convey the medium in the container with the filling material in such a way that the impeller is always covered by the medium to be conveyed. This measure ensures that the media flow introduced from the filling material container into a filling pipe used for filling also forms a constant volume flow largely unaffected by turbulence in the filling pipe. This is the prerequisite for determining the filling time for the dosing process by means of the known geometry of the filling pipe and sensors contained in the pipe and for adjusting the pump delivery rate to the viscosity of the conveyed filling material in order to maintain this filling time, as is disclosed, for example, in DE 1 95 07 817.
In order to ensure that the pump impeller is always covered by the material being pumped, it is generally positioned in the immediate vicinity of the bottom of the container. However, this has the disadvantage that the pump output is influenced by the filling level of the container, i.e. by the pressure of the column of the material above the impeller in the container. Of course, with today's technical means it is possible to record measured values based on the filling level of the container and to adjust the pump output according to the pressure exerted on it by the medium above the impeller. However, the technical effort required for this is generally unacceptably high.
On the other hand, previously known structural measures in the design of the filling material container, through which a reduction in the influence of the pressure exerted by the media column on the impeller is achieved, have the disadvantage that the filling material container and pump parts, such as the impeller, are difficult to clean when the type of medium to be filled changes.
[GBM121B5] - 2 -[GBM121B5] - 2 -
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an arrangement for conveying a liquid or viscous medium from a filling material container with a pump, which, through continuous conveying of the medium and a pump output that is largely independent of the filling level of the container, enables methods for volume flow-controlled dosing of a medium to be filled from the filling material container while maintaining the required dosing accuracy, whereby simple cleaning of the container and the pump parts should be possible.
The arrangement according to the invention for conveying a liquid or viscous medium, which consists of a filling material container with a lid, drain and pressure line for the material to be conveyed and a pump, preferably an impeller pump, the motor of which is mounted on the lid, solves the problem in that the filling material container holding the medium is divided into a storage space and a suction space arranged below the storage space when the lid is closed. The impeller of the pump protrudes into the suction space and is movably arranged in it, connected to the motor via the pump shaft which is guided through a passage opening in the container lid. To form the suction chamber, the filling material container has a recessed area on its bottom, which is separated from the rest of the volume of the container when the container lid is closed by a plate that is connected to the lid via at least one spacer and spaced from it, immediately above the impeller in the filling material container in such a way that at least one inflow opening for the medium is formed, connecting the storage chamber with the suction chamber. The outlet of the filling material container is located in the bottom of the suction chamber, which is also connected to the pressure line into which the medium to be conveyed is introduced by the pump. It is clear to the expert that the geometric dimensions of the suction chamber should be selected so that it is only slightly larger than the impeller of the pump moving in it. Otherwise, there would be undesirable turbulence of the medium, which would impair the constancy of the volume flow, or repeated, brief interruptions of the conveyed medium flow at the outer edges of the impeller.
Das restlose Ent-It is in the spirit of the invention if the floor of the suction chamber is designed to slope from the outer walls of the suction chamber to the drain. The complete drainage

Emptying the filling container via the drain in the event of cleaning is made even easier, as the remaining medium still in the container then runs together at the drain.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention, the pressure line exits the suction chamber in a direction that is slightly inclined relative to the horizontal. On the one hand, this promotes a rapid level adjustment of the medium remaining in the pressure line when the delivery stops to the filling level of the filling material container, which is desired for volume flow-controlled dosing, and on the other hand, this measure also has a positive effect with regard to the necessary emptying of the container.
An advantageous embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention is provided by the fact that the inflow openings arranged between the storage space and the suction space above the impeller simultaneously form the passage opening for the pump shaft and extend over an area of up to 3/4 of the radius of the impeller. It is particularly advantageous if the inflow openings penetrate the plate separating the storage space from the suction space, forming a funnel shape, and the funnel shape formed by an inclined course of the side walls of the inflow openings continues through trapezoidal recesses in the blades of the impeller in the area of the pump shaft. This design of the inflow openings always ensures a sufficient inflow of the medium to be conveyed into the suction space. Since the actual conveying of the filling material ideally only takes place in a very small area near the outer radius of the blades of the pump impeller, the arrangement of the inflow openings near the passage of the pump shaft through the plate simultaneously achieves a favorable flow pattern and a high continuity of the conveying flow.
Da bei der üblicherweise hohen Pumpendreh-The advantage of the arrangement according to the invention is particularly that the impeller pump introduces a media flow with a very constant volume flow density into the pressure line. This is ensured by the fact that the impeller is always covered with media due to its placement at the bottom of the filling material container. The almost complete separation of the suction chamber in which the impeller moves from the storage chamber which essentially holds the filling material also ensures that the impeller can move largely free from the effects of the pressure created by the media column and thus the pump performance remains almost constant regardless of the filling level of the filling material container. Since the pump speed is usually high,

Since generally only a small area on the outer radius of the impeller contributes to the conveyance of the medium, the proposed arrangement of the inflow openings, through which filling material constantly flows from the storage chamber into the suction chamber, is particularly advantageous. The inflowing medium is thus introduced directly and almost turbulence-free into the pressure line.
The arrangement also enables all parts of the arrangement to be cleaned thoroughly before changing the filling medium. By opening the filling material container, the complete pump and the plate that divides the filling material container into the storage space and the suction space can be easily removed, so that all areas of the filling material container are easily accessible for cleaning. This is particularly advantageous for automatic cleaning with a program-controlled rinsing of the container, as this means that no shadows of detergent are created for the detergent in the container. The advantageous design of the base of the suction space and the pressure line shown make cleaning even easier. It is obvious that the pump removed from the container can also be cleaned very easily thanks to the possibility of separate cleaning.
In den zugehörigen Zeichnungen zeigen:The invention will be explained in more detail using an embodiment. The accompanying drawings show:

Dabei ist die Platte 12 so eingeordnet, daß zwischen dem Vorratsraum 3 und dem Saugraum 4 mindestens eine Verbindung in Form einer Einströmöffnung 13 für das Füll-Fig. 1 shows the arrangement according to the invention as it is used in the filling of a liquid or viscous medium 11 to be conveyed in a sectional view. The filling material container 1 filled with the medium 11 is shown, which has a stepped area on its bottom. The container is closed by a lid 2 on which the pump motor 6 is mounted. The pump shaft 7 is guided through a passage opening in the lid 2 and receives the impeller 8 at its lower end. A plate 12 is connected to the lid 2 by spacers 10. This plate separates the stepped area designed as a suction chamber 4 from the storage chamber 3, which essentially serves to receive the medium to be conveyed. The plate 12 is arranged in such a way that there is at least one connection in the form of an inflow opening 13 for the filling material between the storage chamber 3 and the suction chamber 4.

In the present case, the arrangement has several such inflow openings 13, 13*, which are advantageously arranged in terms of their horizontal position according to the embodiment so that they simultaneously form the passage opening 14 for the pump shaft connected to the impeller 8. By means of measures not shown here for a continuous supply of the storage space 3 with filling material 11, which does not require precise dosing, it is ensured that the pump impeller 8 in the suction chamber 4 is always covered with the medium 11. The amount of filling material 11 discharged by the impeller 8 into the pressure line 5 flows directly and without affecting the pump delivery capacity via the inflow openings 13, 13' from the storage space 3 into the suction chamber 4. The fact that the pump impeller 8 is always covered with media means that the media flow in the pressure line 5 has a constant volume flow density. This is further promoted by the fact that the media column above the impeller 8 exerts only a small pressure on the impeller 8 due to the arranged plate 12 and thus the pump delivery capacity is not impaired. For a favorable flow behavior of the medium 11 flowing into the suction chamber, the side walls 15 of the inflow openings 13, 13' are inclined so that the inflow openings 13, 13' penetrate the plate 12 to form a funnel shape, whereby it proves to be particularly favorable if this funnel shape continues through recesses 16 in the impeller 8.
Fig. 2 also shows, in a sectioned view, that the arrangement according to the invention can be cleaned in a particularly advantageous manner. After the remaining, unfilled medium has been removed via the drain 9, it is only necessary, as can be seen in the figure, to open the lid 2 of the filling material container 1 and to remove all pump parts, such as the motor 6, pump shaft 7 and impeller 8, as well as the spacers 10 and the plate 12, with the lid 2. All areas of the container 1 are now accessible for cleaning and can be easily cleaned as part of a program-controlled flush without any shadows of detergent forming anywhere. The complete drainage of the filling medium via the drain 9 is promoted by a design of the base of the suction chamber 4 that slopes downwards towards the drain 9 and by an outlet of the pressure line 5 that rises slightly towards the horizontal. Because the pump parts can be easily removed, they can also be cleaned without any problems.
