Die Erfindung betrifft einen Hufballenschoner für Huftiere, vorzugsweise Pferde. Derartige Hufballenschoner werden insbesondere an den Vorderhufen von Pferden angelegt, um eine Verletzung des Hufballens, also der Hinterseite des Hufes (Tracht) durch die Hinterhufe des Pferdes zu verhindern. Bei schnellen Gangarten und im Springsport kann es nämlich vorkommen, daß sich ein Pferd auf diese Weise selbst verletzt, was zu ernsten Erkrankungen des Hufes bis zur Lahmheit führen kann. Außerdem können die Hufeisen der Vorderhufe durch Einfluß der Hinterhufe gelockert oder abgerissen werden.The invention relates to a hoof ball protector for hoofed animals, preferably horses. Da der Strahlbereich im Pferdehuf gegenüber den Außenrändern des Hufs eine Mulde darstellt, kommt die Zunge mit dem Boden nicht in Berührung, so daß ein Verschleiß der Zunge minimiert ist. Falls der Pferdehuf mit ovalen - also im Ballenbereich durchgängig ausgebildeten - Hufeisen beschlagen ist, wird die Zunge vorzugsweise zwischen Huf und Hufeisen hindurchgesteckt.hooves are protected.
