Description
Beschreibung; Description ;
Eine Anordnung der vorgeschriebenen Art ist bekannt beispielsweise aus der schwedischen Patentschrift 333 095.The invention relates to a device for defibrating and simultaneous conditioning of cellulosic material in which cellulosic materials of such concentration, that they do not flow are subjected to processing by rolling, kneading, compression and mixing. Among the parts of a known device of this type is a housing provided with inlet and outlet in which at least two screws or worms are arranged, which are coupled for common rotation and their helices or threads for processing the cellulosic material located therebetween are in engagement. Each of the Screw has a first axial section the pitch of which decreases in the direction of the inlet end of the housing. This first section of the screw merges into a second axial section of constant pitch, whose Pitch is smaller than the smallest pitch of the first axial section. The thread of each worm is with a or more recesses on the circumference of one or more threads in the area of the outlet in such a way that cams, Teeth or arcuate recesses are formed in which individual parts of the treated material undergo a local, radial compression against an opposite one Edge or a groove base are subjected. An arrangement of the prescribed type is known for example from Swedish patent 333 095.
Die Aussparungen an den Schnecken ergeben auch den Vorteil,Cellulosic material is used in the known device subjected to processing by rolling, kneading and mixing between the lateral surfaces of the spirals or threads, wherein the material is divided into individual fibers to produce fibers of a desired length in relation to the desired Properties of the finished product. The recesses on the screws also have the advantage of
030603/00^8030603/00 ^ 8
Beim Herstellen von beispielsweise mehrschichtigen Säcken oder Beuteln ist die Fähigkeit der inneren Papierschichten, sich zu dehnen ohne zu reißen, wünschenswert, so daß die äußeren Schichten des Sackes in der Lage sind, den Belastungen zu widerstehen, denen der Sack oder Beutel während des Gebrauchs ausgesetzt ist.that the material is drawn more quickly through between the two screws, where it is subjected to a local, radially directed compression in that space which is determined by the lateral surfaces of the projections of one screw and the groove bottoms or edges of the other screw. As a result of this, the material is not only further deflbred but also subjected to a conditioning process. In this context, conditioning is to be understood as meaning that the relevant or exposed fibers are given a permanent curvature or crimp, which results in a felt of arbitrarily oriented fibers. This in turn means that the fiber mass has a higher specific volume. Such a mass can be used for many purposes, such as for the production of fluff as an absorbent material for baby diapers or liners and in particular for the production of air-permeable panels for the production of, for example, multi-layer sacks or bags. In the latter case, the permanent crimp of the fibers also has the advantage that the final paper product has increased stretchability and an increased tear factor of 20-40 % and up to 25 % , respectively. In the manufacture of, for example, multi-layer sacks or pouches, the ability of the inner paper layers to stretch without tearing is desirable so that the outer layers of the sack are able to withstand the stresses placed on the sack or pouch during use is.
Dies ist insbesondere dann der Fall,Although the known device, as set out above, provides significant advantages during development Tests carried out on this device have shown that the radial compression to which the cellulosic material is subjected as a result of the recesses on the screws, is often insufficient to obtain an end product of the desired quality. This is particularly the case
030603/0028030603/0028
Ein Ziel der Erfindung ist es daher, das Problem zu lösen, das sich aus diesen einander widersprechenden Bedingungen ergibt, was in folgender Weise erklärt werden kann.when it is necessary to reduce the area of the recesses in order to increase the capacity of the device. The conditions under which a satisfactory radial compression of the cellulosic material can be achieved, i.e. the use of recesses of a given size are therefore in contradiction to the conditions under which the Capacity of the device can be increased. An object of the invention is therefore to solve the problem that arises from these contradicting conditions results, which can be explained in the following way.
Um die Förderkapazität der jThe larger the recesses in the threads of the screws, the less they are able to convey the material. the less the material is axially compressed in the area of the outlet of the device. For example, if the f If the pressure exerted on the material is too low, i.e. the j recesses are too large, the capacity is reduced the device considerably. In order to increase the capacity of the j
.zu, ° . ' ι .to, °. 'ι
Increase the screws \ and thus the production capacity of the i Device, it is required the size of the recesses j to decrease. The result of this, however, is that the desired radial compression of the material is reduced. In practice, the solution consisted of a compromise in which neither the capacity of the device nor the radial Compression of the materilas were as great as desired-: would be worth.
The foregoing problems, which have diminished the usefulness of the device in general practice, are achieved by the present invention. In the context of the invention, the problem can be solved in that the Groove bottoms or inner areas of the screws are provided with webs or longitudinal elements, which when the screw rotates enter the recesses of a corresponding helix or a thread on an opposing screw.
030603/OCP 8030603 / OCP 8
Tatsächlich ermöglicht es die Erfindung, die Aussparungen an den Gewinden größer zu machen als es bisher der Fall war ohne die Kapazität der VorrichtungThese longitudinal elements reduce the amount of material that has a tendency to result in excessively slow material transport in Direction of conveyance, to be taken along by the rotating movement of the screws. In this way the pressure is axial Increased direction, so the conveying effect of the screws increased, while the size of the recesses on the threads is retained. Indeed, the invention enables the recesses on the threads to be made larger than has previously been the case without the capacity of the device
Another advantage achieved by the longitudinal elements is that they have been found to be the cellulosic Compress material radially in a manner previously unknown, this radial compression between the webs or longitudinal elements and the side surfaces the recesses occurs in an opposite thread turn of the worm. This extra compression of the material results in an additional conditioning effect and thus an increased capacity of the device. Accordingly, the invention relates to a device for defibrating and conditioning cellulosic material of such a concentration that the material does not flow, the device comprising at least two screws, which are arranged parallel to one another in a housing provided with an inlet and outlet and which engage with one another stand to process the material, and the threads of the worms have recesses on the circumference of at least one or have two threads, the teeth or projections between the recesses, characterized by longitudinal elements, which extend parallel to the screw axis and on each screw between the flights of that part of the thread in question, which is provided with the recesses.

DiesbezüglichIn FIGS. 1 and 2, two shafts 1 and 2 are shown which are arranged in a housing 3 for rotation parallel to one another are. Shafts 1 and 2 are in opposite directions for common rotation Directions, for example, connected by a transmission, not shown here. Each of shafts 1 and 2 carries a thread 4 or 5, which extends over the main part of the wavelength within the housing 3. The threads 4 and 5 can be releasably attached to the shafts in a way which is not shown here in detail. The cross-sectional shape of the housing 3 is that of being engaged with each other Screws 4 and 5 adapted in such a way that the inner surface of the housing corresponds essentially to the imaginary surface, which describe the snails as they rotate. The housing is at one end with an inlet opening 6 for the cellulosic material to be treated is provided and at its other end with an annular outlet opening 7 or 8, which surrounds the two shafts 1 and 2. Regarding this

11, die miteinander zur Abgabe des Materials durch die Auslaßöffnungen 7 und 8 in Eingriff stehen.the end wall 9 of the housing 3 is drawn in towards the outlet opening in order to have a certain insulating effect on the cellulosic material when exiting the enclosure. The outlet openings 7, 8 have an adjustable flow area, e.g. in that the end wall 9 is adjustable in the axial direction of the housing. One such construction is Subject of the Swedish patent specification 314 288 “Im Raun? the inwardly drawn end wall 9 carry the shafts 1 and 2 separate threads 10 and 11, which together for the delivery of the Material through the outlet ports 7 and 8 are engaged.
Each thread 4 and 5 has a front section 4a or 5a and a rear section 4b or 5b. The rear Sections 4b, 5b of screws 4, 5 extend from the inlet end of the housing to an area which is approximately in the middle of the housing, where the rear sections 4b " 5b merge into the front sections 4a, 5a and form continuous worm threads on the shafts 1, 2. the The pitch of the thread sections 4b, 5b decreases continuously from the inlet end, while the pitch of the threaded sections 4a, 5a is constant but smaller than the smallest The pitch of the sections 4b, 5b is, i.e. smaller than the pitch between the last two threads of the rear sections 4b, 5b. The inlet opening 6 of the housing 3 is thus located above the screws at one point where the pitch of the thread is greatest.
The two front threaded sections 4a, 5a are provided with recesses 13, 14 which are uniformly distributed over the entire front sections and form teeth or projections 15, 16 thereon. In the illustrated first embodiment, these recesses have the form of substantially triangular notches, the depth of which a T e il occupies the radial extent of the respective thread.

The angle at which the side surfaces of the threads are inclined to the radial plane, can be 5-15 °, preferably 10 °. The relationship between the pitch of the respective rear thread sections 4b, 5b and the cross-sectional dimensions is chosen so that no essential Compression of the cellulosic material between the corresponding surfaces of the interengaging ones Sewing sections occurs. On the other hand are slope and Cross-sectional dimensions of the front thread sections 4a, 5a carefully matched to one another in order to achieve a compression dey Material between opposing side surfaces of mutually engaging threaded portions and between the teeth (15 or 16) of the one threaded section (4a or 5a) and the groove bottom or mating surface area to effect the other thread section. The overall distances are chosen so that there is a risk of shortening the fibers as a result of cutting is avoided. The distances between opposing surfaces are preferably more than 2 mm.
Das Verhältnis zwischen der Tiefe des Gewindes und seiner Steigung ist für die vorderen Gewindeabschnitte 4a, 5a auch von Bedeutung be- · jThe circumferential surface of the crests of the threads of the front thread sections 4a, 5a has a width of only a fraction of the pitch of the thread. This is from of great importance with regard to the way in which the crests of the threads enter the space between adjacent threads of the opposite worm, which with cellulosic material is filled. The relation between the depth of the thread and its pitch is also of importance for the front thread sections 4a, 5a

Threaded section of the front threaded sections 4a and 5a, respectively is a longitudinal element 17 or 18 in the form of a web on the relevant shaft 1 or 2 arranged. Each of the longitudinal elements extends parallel to the shaft, from thread to Thread turn, along the entire relevant front thread section, radially adjacent to the base of the corresponding recess. The height and width of the webs or longitudinal elements 17, 18 can be between 2/3 to 1/3 or 1/4 to 1/2 of the thread depth, and in the exemplary embodiment it is 1/3 or 1/4 of this depth.
Je Langer das Material in der Vorrichtung verbleibt, um so größerThe operation of the device is as follows. After the screws have started, cellulosic material is poured into the housing 3 via the inlet opening 6. At the time the device is loaded, the material has a concentration or consistency of more than approximately 12.5 % solids, preferably about 25 %. In the area of the rear thread sections 4b, 5b, the material is conveyed and compacted in such a way that it fills the opposing surface areas of the front thread sections 4a, 5a (the groove between successive threads should be referred to as the opposing surface area). As a result of the cohesion on the relevant threads and because the material is packed into a coherent mass due to its consistency, the material enclosed in the opposing surface areas rotates constantly together with the front thread sections. In this way, the cellulosic material is forced to repeatedly pass through the spaces between opposing side walls of the threads. The speed at which the material passes through the working zones is determined by a) the feed speed, b) the discharge speed, which in turn is determined by the flow area of the outlet openings, c) the speed of the screws, and the properties of the cellulosic material being treated. The longer the material remains in the device, the larger it is
030803/0028030803/0028
It is therefore important that the The flow area of the outlet openings is controlled so that a particular cellulosic material has optimal properties received during its treatment in the device.
Because the circumferential speed at the thread circumference is much greater than at the bottom of the opposing surface areas or grooves between adjacent threads, this will be within the range of each recess 13, 14 in the front thread portions 4a, 5a material; be subjected. The radial compression and processing of the material in the vicinity of the recesses 13, 14 has the effect that the material is not only defibrated, but that the exposed fibers also have a get permanent crimp and thus become matted in a disorderly manner. This means that the treated Pulp has a higher specific volume, which makes it particularly suitable for a large number of areas of application, for example as an absorbent material for baby diapers and the like.
During the rotation of the screws, these longitudinal elements get into the / recesses on the thread section of the opposite screw. In this way the amount of cellulosic material is reduced, which has the tendency to join the screw rotation at a very slow movement in] Förderi'ichtung. This results in an increase in the axially directed force, ie an increase in the conveying effect of the screws. The arrangement of the longitudinal elements 17, therefore, means that the device in question can be provided with substantially larger recesses than it

The result of this is one increased radial compression of the cellulosic material while maintaining a high flow of material through the device producing a well-defined and conditioned pulp with greatly reduced fiber knot content while maintaining large capacity.
The following examples with tables allow a comparison between the reduction in fiber knot content a SuIfat knot pulp in practical experiments with two Devices with two mutually engaging screws, one of which is a device with longitudinal elements was provided according to the invention, while the other such longitudinal elements were missing. Incidentally, both were devices perfectly consistent. The fiber knot content is given in the tables in percent by weight.
A sulfate knot pulp with 4.8% by weight 6 fiber knots and a dry content of approximately 30 % was divided into two equal parts. One of these parts was fed to the device with longitudinal elements, while the other part of the pulp was fed into the device without such longitudinal elements. The amount of pulp charged to the devices per unit of time, the number of revolutions and the area of the outlet openings of the devices, as well as other conditions, were the same for both devices.

The device according to the embodiment of the invention can in many respects within the scope of the invention be modified. If, for example, the longitudinal elements are arranged on the worm shafts, as in the embodiment described above, you can use the worm shaft at the same time and the threads, or only on the shaft or only on the threads.
It is also possible to have the longitudinal elements on the screw shafts with different radial dimensions or at a distance to be provided by the worm shafts. Figure 3 shows such an embodiment in which the longitudinal elements 19, 20 in Distance from the screw shafts 1,2 are arranged so that they can easily be inserted into the recesses 13, 14 of the screw sections 4a, 5a protrude.
Figur 4 zeigt Längselemente 21 in einer solchen Ausführungsform^ wobei der zugehörigeIt is also possible, the longitudinal elements in one of the above To arrange embodiments so that they are laterally offset and thus between the recesses instead of facing them. Figure 4 shows longitudinal elements 21 in such an embodiment ^ with the associated

Threaded section 4a dismantled and from the worm shaft is separated. It should be noted that the longitudinal elements in all Described embodiments are expediently arranged with the same mutual spacing around the worm shaft can be, like the recesses on the thread in question.
If the longitudinal elements extend along the worm shaft over the full distance between adjacent threads, as is also the case in the first exemplary embodiment, the axially successive longitudinal elements can expediently be shaped as coherent, rod-like units (see FIG. 4), and the threads are expediently provided with through openings f into which the rods can be inserted and fixed in their position. Such an embodiment allows the longitudinal elements or rods to be easily exchanged as required. On the other hand, the rods or longitudinal elements also only need to extend over part of the distance between adjacent threads.
Ein hierdurch bewirkter Vorteil besteht darin, daß die geriffeltenAccording to a further possible embodiment of the longitudinal elements, these longitudinal elements or rods can also be used in relation to one another to be made larger or smaller towards the outlet of the device and / or with corrugated Surfaces are provided in order to increase the friction against the cellulosic material. For the same purpose can also the edge surfaces of the teeth formed by the recesses on the threads in question with a Corrugation or the like are provided. Such corrugated surfaces can expediently be provided on components which are detachably mounted on the surfaces of the longitudinal members or the teeth, these components of a longitudinal element or tooth to the components of an opposite one Adjacent longitudinal element or tooth. An advantage achieved in this way is that the corrugated
Surfaces are easily exchangeable thanks to corrugated surfaces of different types or sizes, and also when worn, can be easily replaced. To the same For this purpose, the longitudinal elements or rods can also be detachable on the worm shafts and / or the relevant threads be mounted.
