Description
The invention relates to an arrangement of the spare wheel in motor vehicles, in particular passenger cars, with the spare wheel and fuel tank lying one behind the other below the rear cargo space, such that the spare wheel in one at the same time a part of the floor pan of the vehicle and an inclined Partition wall (face) opposite the trough-shaped tub that forms in front of the fuel tank is arranged further to the rear than the fuel tank and about a horizontal axis directed transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle is tiltable.
As is well known, there has been an increasing trend towards compact vehicles in the automotive industry in recent years Vehicles that are primarily characterized by front-wheel drive and a variable trunk. First Line is intended for station wagons and those vehicles that have a tailgate and at those of the rear compartment either as a cargo space or to accommodate more after appropriate conversion Passengers can be used. In such vehicles, for reasons of the best possible Utilization of space Fuel tank and spare wheel housed under the loading floor behind the rear axle will.
The disadvantage of such an arrangement of the fuel tank and spare wheel is essentially that that in the event of a rear impact on the vehicle, the impact forces from the spare wheel on the one in front Fuel tank are transferred and to a deformation, possibly even to a complete destruction of the same to lead.
From DE-PS 20 46 251 it has become known to have a recess for the in the front part of a motor vehicle Provide a spare wheel, the rear part of which is facing the bulkhead runs obliquely upwards. Furthermore is an inclined ramp is provided at the bottom of the trough. This measure is intended to ensure that at In the event of a head-on collision, the spare wheel does not move horizontally into the passenger compartment, but upwards a vertical position is pressed. The existing ramp lifts the spare wheel in the resting position on, so that from the outset the height of the recess must be greater than what the spare wheel itself requires.
The object on which the invention is based is to provide a spare wheel arrangement in the preamble of claim 1 specified type so that the spare wheel as space-saving as possible below of the rear cargo space is housed and no reduction in the rear impact on the vehicle Causes ground clearance of the vehicle, rather the part of the spare wheel facing the fuel tank is raised above the level of the fuel tank.
Erfindungsgemäß wird dies dadurch erreicht, daß einAccording to the invention this is achieved in that a
dem Kraftstofftank zugewandter vorderer horizontaler Teil der Bodenfläche der muldenförmigen Wanne die Auflage für das Reserverad bildet, daß der hintere Teil der Bodenfläche in Fahrtrichtung ansteigend geneigt ausgebildet ist, wobei er einen freien Hohlraum unter dem hinteren Teil des Reserverades bildet, daß die die Kippachse für das Reserverad bildende Knicklinie zwischen dem horizontalen und dem geneigten Teil der Bodenfläche quer zur Fahrzeuglängsachse verläuft und daß hinter dem Reserverad ein mit der hinteren Stoßstange in Wirkverbindung stehendes, mit dem oberen Rand des Reserverades zusammenwirkendes, mit der Heckpartie des Kraftfahrzeuges verbundenes geneigtes Leitblech angeordnet ist.the front horizontal part of the bottom surface of the trough-shaped tub facing the fuel tank Support for the spare wheel forms that the rear part of the floor surface inclines in the direction of travel is formed, wherein it forms a free cavity under the rear part of the spare wheel that the Kink line forming the tilting axis for the spare wheel between the horizontal and the inclined part of the floor surface runs transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and that behind the spare wheel a standing in operative connection with the rear bumper, with the upper one Edge of the spare wheel cooperating, inclined connected to the rear of the motor vehicle Baffle is arranged.
Such a training has the advantage that the spare wheel is arranged horizontally during normal driving. is, which results in an increase in the cargo space of the vehicle In this embodiment, the front end face of the forming the partition wall opposite the fuel tank trough-shaped tub not necessarily designed to be inclined. This advantageously results a reduction in the overall length of the fuel tank / spare wheel arrangement.

According to FIG. 1 and 2, 10 denotes the rear part of the body of a passenger vehicle. One of the both rear side windows is numbered 11. An im The rear loading space of the vehicle bears the reference number 12. The loading area of the loading space 12 is formed by a removable plate 13.
As also from FIG. 1 and 2 is shown below the loading area (plate 13), approximately at the same height a rear cross member 14, the designated 15 fuel tank of the vehicle is arranged. Below the loading area 13 is also in a trough-shaped tub 16 £> or 16c, which forms part of the vehicle floor, the spare wheel 17 of the vehicle is supported.
16c.One shown in FIG. I and 2 as a paragraph, in the plan view according to F i g. 3, however, the recess 18 in the fuel tank 15, which is a semicircle, encloses the front part of the trough-shaped tub i6b or 16c.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the front bottom part, numbered 22, of the trough-shaped trough 166 is designed horizontally, whereas the rear bottom part 23 is designed so as to be inclined from back to front. During normal driving, only the front bottom part 22 forms the support for the spare wheel 17. The center axis of the wheel, which at the same time forms its center of gravity, is designated by 24. Fig. 1 makes it clear that the spare wheel 17 rests with the greater part of its surface on the flat bottom part 22 of the trough-shaped tub 16ö. As a result, the spare wheel 17 remains in the horizontal position shown in solid lines during normal driving. To illustrate this area ratio, is in F i g. 1, the longitudinally extending diameter of the spare wheel 17 is divided into two sections a and b , which are approximately 3: 2 to one another.
As can also be seen from FIG. 1, is immediate behind the spare wheel 17. on the upper edge of the same, one connected to the rear of the body inclined guide plate 25 arranged. In the event of an impact on the vehicle from behind, it now acts on top As described, the force in the direction of arrow 21 on a bumper 26, which leads to a deformation of the rear section leads in this direction. Here, the guide plate 25 is in its in F i g. 1 shown in phantom Position 25 'shifted. The guide plate 25 exerts a force on the rear edge of the spare wheel 17 Direction of arrow 27. The vertical component of this force 27 causes the spare wheel 17 to tilt into the End position 17 'indicated in dash-dotted lines.
A kink line, denoted by 28, between the horizontal one, serves as the tilting axis for the spare wheel 17 Part 22 and the inclined part 23 of the bottom of the trough-shaped tub 16ö. The horizontal component the force 27 simultaneously causes a displacement of the spare wheel 17 in the direction of travel, so that this Over the front face 20i of the trough-shaped tub 160 and thus also over the tank 15 moved, whereby in this case too the end face 20 £> acts as a partition.
Also in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the front end face 20b of the trough-shaped trough 166 is inclined. This is a help in the case of the spare wheel 17, but is not absolutely necessary.
As a result of the horizontal arrangement of the spare wheel 17, the cargo space 12 is greater in height achieved. The loading area (plate 13) is shown in FIG. 1 drawn in dashed lines. In the arrangement according to FIG. 1 results but a loading area coinciding with the surface of the spare wheel 17 at the same time as the loading area Level 29.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the tilting movement of the spare wheel 17, which is desired in rearward collisions, is facilitated in that the horizontally formed part 22c of the trough-shaped tub 16c is smaller than the inclined part 23c. The spare wheel is thus here in contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 1 with the smaller part of its surface on the bottom part 22c, whereas the larger part of the spare wheel surface is free above the inclined bottom part 23c of the trough-shaped tub 16c. The relationships described become clear by comparing the sections a and b with the central axis 24 of the spare wheel 17. The described conditions would therefore lead to the spare wheel 17 already performing a tilting movement about a tilting axis 28c in the normal case. To prevent this, however, a support element 30 made of soft sheet metal is attached inside the trough-shaped tub 16c below the spare wheel 17. By means of this support element 30, the spare wheel 7 is held in the horizontal position shown during normal driving. If there is a rearward impact on the vehicle, the following occurs in connection with the embodiment according to FIG. 1 described displacement movements and force relationships on the rear part of the vehicle. As a result of the force exerted by the guide plate 25 on the rear edge of the spare wheel 17 in the direction of the arrow 27, the support element 30 immediately yields elastically or plastically, and the spare wheel 17 can perform the tilting movement around the Kippaqhse 28c, which is desired in this case, so that the as Partition wall to the tank 15 acting end face 20c practically unloaded

5Here too, the spare wheel 17 arrives in the event
a rear impact accident above the fuel tank 15 without touching it in the slightest, let alone damaging it. 5
