Description
The invention relates to a halogen light bulb of the type according to the preamble of claim 1, a method for its production and its use.
AS 24 31 250 discloses a halogen light bulb that contains a filling gas with a halogen additive from a halogen hydrocarbon compound, where chlorine, bromine and/or iodine can be used as the halogen. The halogen additive in the filling gas is intended to prevent the tungsten that has entered the gas space as a result of the evaporation of the glowing tungsten filament from depositing through the so-called halogen cycle process. In this known process, the tungsten evaporated from the wire combines with the halogen atoms originating from a decaying halogen compound to form tungsten halide, the boiling point of which is below the temperature of the wall of the lamp bulb, so that no tungsten halide condensation can form on the bulb wall. The tungsten halide diffuses to the lamp body, where tungsten is deposited on the cooler parts of the lamp body, while the halogen is available for a new cycle process.
The use of a halogen hydrocarbon compound in the incandescent lamp according to DE-AS 24 31 250 is disadvantageous, since the thermal decomposition of this compound releases carbon, which can lead to the formation of carbide on the tungsten filament - and thus to a reduction in the service life of the lamp. Furthermore, the evacuation process required before the filling gas is introduced is relatively complex.
A method for producing a halogen lamp in which a metal bromide is introduced into the lamp bulb is described in DE-OS 22 62 790. From this published specification it is known that in the manufacture of halogen lamps an aluminum bromide can be introduced into the lamp bulb as a getter material, which on the one hand does not react with the halogen additive present in the filling gas, but at the same time enters into a chemical reaction with any possible gas impurities.
Furthermore, it is known from the German patent application N 10 623 VIII c/21 f (published on August 16, 1956) to immerse an incandescent body hanging by its pole wires in a vessel containing the desired getter material in a solution or suspension.
The use of getter materials allows impurities to be bound without any disruption to lamp operation, but when gettering impurities in the filling gas, this does not prevent the lamp bulb from becoming blackened by vapor-deposited tungsten.
The invention has the object of creating a halogen light bulb according to the preamble of claim 1, which works without halogen hydrocarbon compounds and uses a non-toxic metal halide additive, wherein the introduction of the metal halide additive during the production process should take place in the most efficient way possible.
The object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 or claim 2.
A further preferred embodiment of the method is specified in claim 3. A preferred use is mentioned in claim 4.
Es zeigtEmbodiments of the invention are shown purely schematically in the drawing. It shows
Fig. 1 die Darstellung einer Halogen-Glühlampe mit einseitigen elektrischen Anschlüssen, Fig. 1 shows a halogen lamp with one-sided electrical connections,
Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt durch eine beschichtete Glühwendel, Fig. 2 a cross section through a coated filament,
Fig. 3 eine röhrenförmige Halogen-Glühlampe mit Füllstutzen, Fig. 3 a tubular halogen lamp with filling nozzle,
Fig. 4 the halogen lamp according to Fig. 3 with melted nozzle.
In the embodiment ( Fig. 1), the halogen bulb consists of a lamp bulb 1 in which there is a coil 2 that extends between support pins 3 , which in turn are connected to the outer pins 5 for the electrical connection of the lamp via a foil-like seal (metal leaf) 4. The seals 4 are fused or squeezed into a glass extension 6 of the lamp bulb 1 .
Advantageously (see Fig. 2) the wire coil 2 has an outer jacket-like coating 7 which consists of a copper bromide. In particular, copper-II-bromide is used which is dissolved in pure ethyl alcohol C 2 H 5 OH. It has proven useful to adjust the concentration of the solution so that 0.35-0.38 g of copper bromide are present per 100 cm 3 of ethyl alcohol. To coat it, the coil 2 made of tungsten wire is simply dipped into the solution. After the coil 2 has been removed from the solvent and the solvent has evaporated, the copper bromide adheres evenly to the coil 2. The coated coil 2 is then mechanically melted into the lamp bulb 1 made of quartz or hard glass. The protective gas flushing required during the melting process is carried out via a flushing tube 8 ( Fig. 3) melted onto the lamp bulb. After the machine melting, the flushing tube 8 (at the upper end) is closed by melting in the flame ( Fig. 4). The protective gas remains in the lamp bulb and simultaneously forms the filling gas. When the halogen lamp is in operation, the copper bromide evaporates from the coil 2 due to the temperature generated during heating and dissociates into bromine and copper. The bromine is then available for the well-known tungsten-halogen cycle.
The tubular halogen lamp according to Fig. 4 is especially suitable for use in copiers with intermittent operation.
The absence of carbon in the bromine compound prevents the formation of carbide on the tungsten filament, which can impair the service life of the lamp.
