Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft insektizide Mittel, die als Wirkstoffe Imidazolderivate oder deren Salze enthalten.
Aus der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift 15 42 690 ist bekannt, daß
Imidazole und ihre Salze geeignete Synergisten für die Wirkungssteigerung von Insektiziden Wirkstoffen, wie Pyrethrine, Carbamate
und Phosphorsäureester, sind. Die dort beschriebenen Imidazole zeigen selbst keine oder nur eine sehr geringe insektizide Wirksamkeit
gegenüber den Vertretern der Ordnung Coleoptera und Diptera, sondern wirken ausschließlich als Synergisten.
Es wurde gefunden, daß insektizide Mittel, die Imidazolderivate der Formel I
in der
R für verzweigte Alkylreste mit 6 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, für unverzweigte Alkylreste von 6 bis 16 Kohlenstoffatomen, für verzweigte
Alkenylreste mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, für unverzweigte oder verzweigte Alkinylreste mit 3 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen,
für 2-Methyl-3-phenyl-propyl- oder 2-Methyl-3-phenyl-propen-2-ylreste, wobei die Phenylreste durch Halogen oder Alkylgruppen mit
1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen einfach oder mehrfach substituiert sein können, und
R , R^ und R für Wasserstoff oder Methyl stehen,
oder Salze dieser Imidazolderivate enthalten, sich zur Bekämpfung von Insektiziden aus der Klasse der
Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Heteroptera, Homoptera und Isoptera eignen. Sie greifen in das hormonale
System des tierischen Organismus ein, so daß die Umwandlung zur Imago, die Ablage von entwicklungsfähigen Eiern und die Entwicklung
von abgelegten normalen Eiern gestört sind.

Wirksame Insektizide dieser Art, die als Juvenoide bezeichnet werden, sind Imidazole der Formel I, bei denen R verzweigte
Alkylreste mit 6 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, unverzweigte Alkylreste mit 6 bis 16
Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere 10 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen, verzweigte
Alkenylreste mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere 10 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, oder unverzweigte oder verzweigte
2 ~Ί U Alkinylreste mit 3 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen und R , R-^ und R
Wasserstoff oder Methyl bedeuten. Geeignete Juvenoide sind außerdem Imidazole, die nur in 1-Stellung substituiert sind und bei
denen R für 2-Methyl-3-phenyl-propyl- oder 2-Methyl-3-phenylpropenylreste steht, bei denen der Phenylrest durch Kalogen oder
Alkylreste mit 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere 1 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen, einfach oder mehrfach, vorzugsweise in 4- und
2,4-Stellung, substituiert sein kann.
Sehr wirksame Imidazole sind beispielsweise solche, bei denen R
Wasserstoff oder Methyl, R und R Wasserstoff und R verzweigte Alkyl- oder Alkenylreste mit Isoprenstruktur und 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
insbesondere 10 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie 3,7-Dimethylocty1, 1,5,9-Trimethyl-decyl, 3,7,11-Trimethyl-dodecyl,
3,7-Dimethyl-octa-2,6-dieny1, 3,7,11-Trimethyl-dodeca-2,6,10-trienyl,
bedeuten. Außerdem sehr wirksam sind Imidazole, die in 1-Stellung unverzweigte Alkylreste mit 10 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen,
wie n-Decyl, n-Dodecyl, n-Tetradecyl, in 2-Stellung Wasserstoff
und in 4- und 5-Stellung Wasserstoff oder Methyl tragen.
Als Salze kommen Salze der Imidazolderivate mit anorganischen oder
organischen Säuren in Betracht, beispielsweise mit Halogenwasserstoffsäuren,
wie Chlorwasserstoffsäure, Bromwasserstoffsäure, mit
Schwefelsäure, Salpetersäure, Phosphorsäure, Ameisensäure, Essigsäure, Propionsäure, Buttersäure, Acrylsäure, Oxalsäure, Adipinsäure,
Milchsäure, Weinsäure, Citronensäure, Trichloressigsäure, Stearinsäure, ölsäure, Phenol, Perfluoroctansäure, p-Toluolsulfonsäure
und Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure.

Die Herstellung der substituierten Imidazole kann durch Ringschlußsynthesen
von Imidazolen nach bekannten Methoden, durch Alkylierung von Imidazol mit den entsprechenden Alkoholen an Dehydratisierungskatalysatoren
oder mit gegebenenfalls substituierten Alkyl-, Alkenyl- und Alkinylhalogeniden erfolgen.
Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die Herstellung der Imidazolderivate.
Herstellung von l-(l,5,9-Trimethyl-decyl)-imidazol
52,6 Gewichtsteile 6,10-Dimethyl-undec-2-yl-bromid und 27,2 Gewichtsteile
Imidazol werden in 80 Gewichtsteilen Tetrahydrofuran gelöst, in einen 250 ml Autoklaven gefüllt und 15 Stunden lang
auf l60°C erhitzt. Das Reaktionsprodukt wird anschließend filtriert und aus dem Piltrat bei Normaldruck das Lösungsmittel entfernt.
Die Destillation des hierbei erhaltenen Rückstandes unter Vakuum ergibt 41,5 Gev/ichtsteile l-( 1,5,9-Trimethyl-decyl)-imidazol;
Kp = 185°C. Ausbeute: 83 % der Theorie.
Herstellung von l-(3,7,H-Trimethyl-dodeca-2,6,10-trienyl)-imidazol
72,3 Gewichtsteile 3,7,H-Trimethyl-dodeca-2,6,10-trienylchlorid
und 40,8 Gewichtsteile Imidazol werden in 500 Gewichtsteilen Dioxan gelöst. Anschließend wird das Reaktionsgemisch 6 Stunden
lang unter Rückfluß erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen wird filtriert, und das Piltrat wird unter Vakuum eingeengt. Die Destillation des
Rückstandes aus dem Filtrat im Ölpumpenvakkum ergibt 72 Gewichtsteile l-(3,7,ll-Trimethyl-dodeca-2,6,10-trienyl)-imidazol;
Kp0 01 = 155°C; Ausbeute: 88 % der Theorie.

Die Juvenoide der Formel I eignen sich als Entwicklungshemmer und
Ovizide zur Bekämpfung von Lepidopteren, Coleopteren, Dipteren, Hymenopteren, Heteropteren, Homopteren und Isopteren, vorzugsweise
während des Embryonal-, Larven- oder Puppenstadiums.

Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen können mit Erfolg im Pflanzenschutz sowie bei der Bekämpfung von krankheitsübertragenden Insekten
eingesetzt werden, wobei man sie auf die Insekten bzw. deren Lebensraum einwirken läßt. Der Einsatz erfolgt im allgemeinen
ebenso wie bei den üblichen Kontaktinsektiziden.
Die Wirkstoffe können als solche, in Form ihrer Formulierungen oder den'daraus bereiteten Anwendungsformen, z.B. in Form von direkt
versprühbaren Lösungen, Pulvern, Suspensionen oder Dispersionen, Emulsionen, öldispersionen, Pasten, Stäubemitteln, Streumitteln,
Granulaten durch Versprühen, Vernebeln, Verstäuben, Verstreuen oder Gießen angewendet werden. Die Anwendungsformen richten
sich ganz nach den Verwendungszwecken; sie sollten in jedem Fall möglichst die feinste Verteilung der erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe
gewährleisten.
Zur Herstellung von direkt yersprühbaren Lösungen, Emulsionen, Pasten und öldispersionen kommen Mineralölfraktionen von mittlerem
bis hohem Siedepunkt, wie Kerosin oder Dieselöl, ferner Kohlenteeröle usw., sowie öle pflanzlichen oder tierischen Ursprungs,
aliphatische, cyclische und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, z.B. Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Paraffin, Tetrahydronaphthalin, alkylierte
Naphthaline oder deren Derivate, z.B. Methanol, Äthanol, Propanol, Butanol, Chloroform, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, Cyclohexanol, Cyclo-

hexanon, Chlorbenzol, Isophoron usw., stark polare Lösungsmittel, z.B. Dimethylformamid, Dimethylsulfoxid, N-Methylpyrrolidon,
Wasser usw. in Betracht.
Wäßrige Anwendungsformen können aus Emulsionskonzentrationen,
Pasten oder netzbaren Pulvern (Spritzpulvern, öldispersionen) durch Zusatz von Wasser bereitet werden. Zur Herstellung von
Emulsionen, Pasten oder öldispersionen können die Substanzen als solche oder in einem öl oder Lösungsmittel gelöst, mittels Netz-,
Haft-, Dispergier- oder Emulgiermittel in Wasser homogenisiert werden. Es können aber auch aus wirksamer Substanz Netz-, Haft-,
Dispergier- oder Emulgiermittel und eventuell Lösungsmittel oder öl bestehende Konzentrate hergestellt werden, die zur Verdünnung
mit Wasser geeignet sind.
An oberflächenaktiven Stoffen sind zu nennen:
Alkali-, Erdalkali-, Ammoniumsalze von Ligninsulfonsäure, Naphthalinsulf
onsäure, Phenolsulfonsäuren, Alkylarylsulfonate, Alkylsulfate, Alkylsulfonate, Alkali- und Erdalkalisalze der Dibutylnaphthalinsulfonsäure,
Lauryläthersulfat, Fettalkoholsulfate,
fettsaure Alkali- und Erdalkalisalze, Salze sulfatierter Hexadecanole, Heptadecanole, Octadecanole, Salze von sulfatiertem
Pettalkoholglykoläther, Kondensationsprodukte von sulfonierten! Naphthalin und Naphthalinderivaten mit Formaldehyd, Kondensationsprodukte des Naphthalins bzw. der Naphthalinsulfonsäuren mit
Phenol und Formaldehyd, Polyoxyäthylenoctylphenolather, äthoxyliertes
Isooctylphenol, Octylphenol, Nonylphenol, Alkylphenolpolyglykoläther,
Tributylphenylpolyglykoläther, Alkylarylpolyätheralkohole, Isotridecylalkohol, Fettalkoholäthylenoxid-Kondensate,
äthoxyliertes Rizinusöl, Polyoxyäthylenalkylather, äthoxyliertes
Polyoxypropylen, Laurylalkoholpolyglykolätheracetal, Sorbitester, Lignin, Sulfitablaugen und Methylcellulose.
Pulver-, Streu- und Stäubemittel können durch Mischen oder gemeinsames
Vermählen der wirksamen Substanzen mit einem festen Trägerstoff hergestellt werden.

Granulate, z.B. Umhüllungs-, Imprägnierungs- und Homogengranulate,
können durch Bindung der Wirkstoffe an feste Trägerstoffe hergestellt werden. Feste Trägerstoffe sind z.B. Mineralerden, wie
Silicagel, Kieselsäuren, Kieselgele, Silikate, Talkum, Kaolin, Attaclay, Kalkstein, Kalk, Kreide, Bolus, Löß, Ton, Dolomit,
Diatomeenerde, Calcium- und Magnesiumsulfat, Magnesiumoxid, gemahlene Kunststoffe, Düngemittel, wie z.B. Ammoniumsulfat,
Ammoniumphosphat, Ammoniumnitrat, Harnstoffe und pflanzliche Produkte, wie Getreidemehle, Baumrinden-, Holz- und Nußschalenmehl,
Cellulosepulver und andere feste Trägerstoffe.
Die Formulierungen enthalten im allgemeinen zwischen 0,1 und 95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,5 und 90 Gewichtsprozent
.
Die Wirkstoffkonzentrationen in den anwendungsfertigen Zubereitungen
können in größeren Bereichen variiert werden. Im allgemeinen liegen sie zwischen 0,0001 und 10 %, vorzugsweise zwischen
0,01 und 1 %.
Die Wirkstoffe können auch mit gutem Erfolg im Ultra-Low-Volume-Verfahren
(ULV) verwendet werden, wobei es möglich ist, Formulierungen mit mehr als 95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff oder sogar den
100-prozentigen Wirkstoff allein auszubringen.
Zu den Mischungen oder Einzelwirkstoffen können öle verschiedenen
Typs, Herbizide, Fungizide, Insektizide, Insektenlockstoffe, Bakterizide, gegebenenfalls auch erst unmittelbar vor der Anwendung
(Tankmix), zugesetzt werden. Diese Mittel können zu den erfindungsgemäßen Mitteln im Gewichtsverhältnis 1:10 bis 10:1 zugemischt
werden.

Maximal 24 Stunden alten Puppen des Mehlkäfers Tenebrio molitor werden mit einer Mikrometerspritze 2 ml der acetonischen Wirkstoff
lösung auf die Grenze zwischen Thorax und Abdomen gespritzt. Nach der Behandlung werden die Versuchstiere in Petrischalen von
10 cm Durchmesser auf Rundfilter gelegt.
Die Wirkung der Wirkstoffe wird danach beurteilt, wieviel Prozent der Tiere nach der Häutung starke Deformationen der Imaginal-Cuticula
zeigen oder keine Metamorphose zum Käfer eingehen.
