Description
The invention relates to a single-ended flyback converter according to the preamble of Main claim.
Such a single-ended flyback converter is known (Electronics, April 18, 1966, Pages 90 to 92), which has no means for temperature compensation. However, temperature compensation is very important if the Single-ended flyback converter is subject to temperature fluctuations. The temperature comm pensation can be done without difficulty at higher input voltages realize; at low input voltages, especially of approximately 1 V, however, there are considerable difficulties.
The single-ended flyback converter according to the invention with the characteristic features the main claim has the advantage that it is already at one supply voltages from 0.9 V a satisfactory temperature compensation high gain.
An embodiment of the invention is in the drawing using a only figure shown and in the following description explained.
The single figure shows a circuit diagram of an inventive Single-ended flyback converter with temperature compensation.
In the circuit diagram according to the single figure, 10 denotes a connection which is connected to the positive pole of an input voltage source and which is connected to ground via a series circuit comprising a first winding 11 of a transformer 12 and a collector-emitter path of an npn switching transistor 13 . The base of the switching transistor 13 is connected to the terminal 10 via a further series circuit comprising a second winding 14 of the transformer 12 , a low-resistance resistor 15 and the collector-emitter path of a pnp transistor 16 . A high-resistance resistor 17 , to which a capacitor 18 is connected in parallel, bridges the resistor 15 and the switching path of the transistor 16 . The connection point between the first winding 11 and the switching transistor 13 is connected via a diode 19 to an output 20 , at which the rectified output voltage can be removed. A smoothing capacitor 21 is located between the output 20 and ground. The output 20 is also connected via an adjustable resistor 22 to a control amplifier 23 designed as a differential amplifier, the output of which is connected to the base of the transistor 16 . The adjustable resistor 22, together with a resistor 24 connected in series, forms a voltage divider for the output voltage, the tap of which is connected to the base of a pnp transistor 30 . The tap of a further voltage divider consisting of two resistors 31 and 32 , which lies between the connection 10 and ground, is connected to the base of a further pnp transistor 33 , the collector of which is connected to ground. The interconnected emitters of transistors 30, 33 are connected via a resistor 34 to terminal 10 . The collector of transistor 30 is connected via the collector-emitter path of an npn transistor 35 and a resistor 36 connected in series to ground. The tap of another, consisting of two resistors 37 and 38 voltage divider, which is between the circuit 10 and ground, is connected to the base of the transistor 35 . The collector of transistor 35 is first connected to ground via a resistor 39 and second to the base of an npn transistor 40 . The series circuit comprising the switching path of transistor 40 and a resistor 41 is connected between the base of transistor 16 and ground.
The mode of operation of the flyback oscillator or flyback converter consisting of the components 12, 13, 17 and 18 is first described below. When the input voltage is switched on, the base of the switching transistor 13 is supplied with a current via the resistor 17 , the capacitor 18 and the second winding 14 of the transformer 12 . The transistor 13 thereby begins to conduct. A voltage is induced in the second winding 14 by the collector current flowing through the first winding 11 of the transformer 12 . The windings are connected so that they cause positive feedback. The transistor 13 is fully controlled. The current through the first winding 11 increases linearly until the collector current is equal to the product of the base current with the current amplification factor B of the transistor. The collector current then remains constant. Since no more flow changes are caused in the transformer 12 , no voltage is induced in the second winding 14 . The switching transistor 13 begins to block. The voltage at its collector changes its polarity and thereby also the voltage induced in the second winding 14 . The transistor 13 turns off completely and the so-called flashback pulse occurs. When the energy stored in the transmitter 12 is discharged, the same process begins again. The flashback pulse is rectified by the rectifier diode 19 and smoothed by the capacitor 21 , so that an increased DC voltage is produced at the output terminal 20 .
This output voltage obtained is divided down by the voltage divider 22, 24 and compared with the input voltage divided down by the voltage divider 31, 32 . If there is a difference, this is amplified by the differential amplifier, which essentially consists of transistors 30, 33 . The transistor 40 is controlled by the collector of transistor 30 and thus the difference is further strengthened. The transistor 40 in turn controls the transistor 16 , which is connected as a controllable resistor, that is to say the resistance of its switching path changes as a function of the difference between the controlled variable and the reference variable at the differential amplifier. The switching path of this transistor 16 determines the maximum base current of transistor 13 and thus also the maximum collector current. This in turn determines the energy stored in the transformer 12 , this the amount of the kickback pulse and this in turn the output voltage of the converter. If the output voltage is set to a certain value by the adjustable resistor 22 , the control circuit will always keep this constant, even if the load at the output changes. At higher loads, the transistor 30 remains in its conductive state longer and the transformer 12 is subjected to a higher energy. The idle time of the transistor 13 is shorter, which results in a very low current consumption when idle.
The transistor 35 and the resistors 36 to 38 are used for temperature compensation. The collector current changes of the transistor 30 as a function of the temperature are compensated for by the transistor 35 . If, for example, the collector current of transistor 30 rises as a result of an increase in temperature, the increase is also derived via the transistor 35 , which is also more conductive, and can not flow to the base of transistor 40 . The reverse conditions occur when the temperature is reduced.
