Description
The present invention relates to a new method for producing flexible bonds using of one- or two-component polyurethane adhesives based on organic polyisocyanates and certain polyhydroxy compounds further discussed below.
B. GB-PS 14 08 510).The production of reactive adhesives based on organic polyhydroxy compounds and polyisocyanates is known (see e.g. GB-PS 14 08 510).
The disadvantage of these adhesives is that to achieve high cohesive strengths and heat resistance Polyols and polyisocyanates with a high degree of branching must be used. These products result in adhesive films of low flexibility and are therefore used for bonding flexible materials, such as. B. rubber or Plastics, not suitable. The addition of plasticizers reduces the cohesive strength. Leave flexible adhesive films can be made from polyols and polyisocyanates with little branching, but their cohesive strength is low.
Durch Zusatz üblicher anorganischer oder organischer Pigmente konnten die erforderlichen EigenschaftenThe required properties could be achieved by adding conventional inorganic or organic pigments
flexibler Reaktionsklebstoffe bisher nicht befriedigend erreicht werden.flexible reactive adhesives have not yet been achieved satisfactorily.
As has now been found, surprisingly, the production of flexible adhesive bonds is more excellent Cohesive strength according to the well-known principle of two-component polyurethane adhesives, which as essential component contain a reaction mixture which fully reacts to form polyurethane, then possible if as a reaction partner for the polyisocyanates instead of the classic polyhydroxy compounds used in polyurethane chemistry certain dispersions of polymers in organic hydroxy compounds explained in more detail below be used. It has also been found that such dispersions can be used of polymers in polyhydroxy compounds also the production of bonds based on by the influence of moisture-curing isocyanate prepolymers, which in turn by reaction of the mentioned dispersions are accessible with an excess of organic polyisocyanates.
The subject matter of the present invention is thus a method for producing adhesive bonds of any kind

This means that as a continuous Phase either exclusively diols or diol mixtures or only too weak branches Higher functional polyols or polyol mixtures which give rise to the problem are used. This means that triplet or polycl mixtures with an average OH functionality of 3 or more than 3 an (average) molecular weight should have at least 600.

The examples mentioned Diisocyanates and structural components with isocyanate-reactive groups can each can also be used as any mixtures, the use of in the sense of the isocyanate addition reaction monofunctional or polyfunctional structural components are of course also possible. at The synthesis components are generally used in such amounts in the preparation of the polyadducts used that for each isocyanate-reactive group 0.9-1.1, preferably an isocyanate group, is available. The preparation of the dispersions of the polyadducts in the examples said polyhydroxyl compounds is generally carried out in situ by known processes of the prior art Technology, as described, for example, in DE-OS 25 13 815, DE-AS 12 60 142 or the German patent application P 25 50 797.5 are described.

Dispersions of isocyanate polyadducts from non-molecular building blocks are typical examples represents, in which the disperse phase is preferably built up from hard segments and therefore for the Cohesive strength represent the responsible component, while the polyhydroxyl compound is the elasticizing Component represents.
In general, the particle size of the disperse phase should be between 0.01 and 10.

The dispersions to be used according to the invention are, moreover, generally sedimentation stable and 20% at 25 ° C have a viscosity of less than 100,000, preferably less than 10,000, particularly preferably below 3000 cP.

In the first-mentioned case, the amount of reactants is generally such that for each isocyanate-reactive group present in the polymer dispersion, 0.8-1.5, preferably 0.95-1.30, isocyanate groups are present. In the preparation of the NCO prepolymers, 1.2 to 2.5, preferably 1.6 to 2.2, isocyanate groups are used for each isocyanate-reactive group. In general, it is not necessary to use higher temperatures. In this context, however, it should not go unmentioned that it is also possible to use the adhesives containing free isocyanate groups either with the usual blocking agents for isocyanate groups such as. B. to convert phenol or i-caprolactam into derivatives with blocked isocyanate groups or to convert the free isocyanate groups of the prepolymers with the aid of dimerization catalysts for isocyanate groups such. Allgemeine ArbeitsvorschriftGeneral working regulation
Apparatus: steel stirred kettle with reflux condenser and then descending condenser, storage vessel for the Diisocyanate with inlet pipe that is immersed in the liquid phase.
Durchführung der PolyadditionsreaktionenCarrying out the polyaddition reactions
A mixture of the dispersants (polyols), the chain extenders containing NH groups and water is placed in the stirred tank. The water content, based on the amount of dispersant, is between 15% by weight for a 20% dispersion and 40% by weight for a 50% dispersion. With about 0.5 bar pressure the liquid diisocyanate (mixture) are pressed into the heated to 70-85 0 C mixture under vigorous stirring by means of nitrogen. The diisocyanate can be added continuously or in portions so rapidly that the exothermic polyaddition heats the reaction mixture to the boiling point of the water. After the addition of diisocyanate, which can optionally be done under "reflux", the temperature of the contents of the kettle is cooled to 50-75 ° C. and the distillation of the water at 500-300 torr is started almost immediately under reduced pressure. After the vacuum is reached of 40 torr, one gradually increases the internal temperature of 90-110 0 C to remove the residual water. If the water content is less than 0.2% by weight, the still hot dispersion can be drained through a 0.1 mm pressure screen.
The generally spherical particles of the stable dispersions have a diameter of 0.1-2 μΐη, mostly below 1 μίτι.
