Entweder mußte man den Dosendeckel aufschneiden, aufbiegen und den Inhalt mit Löffeln herausnehmen oder unmittelbar aus der Dose ausgießen, was bei der verhältnismäßig recht weiten Rundung der Dosenöffnung stets mit einem Verlust eines Teiles des Inhaltes verbunden war und oft auch zu lästigen Verunreinigungen führte.
