"Asbestbeläge11 stellen jedoch wegen des im Betrieb entstehenden, asbeststaubhaltigen Abriebes einen Faktor der Umweltverschmutzung dar, bei dem der begründete Verdacht besteht, daß er für die menschliche Gesundheit schädlich ist. Es wurden daher bereits große Anstrengungen unternommen, asbestfreie bzw. asbestarme Reibbeläge herzustellen, um diese Gefährdung der Umwelt zu beseitigen. Hinzu kommt noch, daß die z. Z. bekannten Asbestvorkommen in vorhersehbarer Zeit ausgebeutet sein werden, so daß auch unter diesem Gesichtspunkt die Notwendigkeit besteht, einen Ersatzstoff für Asbest für den angegebenen Verwendungszweck zu finden. Die bisher beschrittenen Wege erbrachten aber keinerlei Materialien, die den "Asbestbelägen11 in ihren physikalischen Eigenschaften auch nur annähernd gleichwertig gewesen wären.
