PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
If a short circuit is made at χ in a line starting from a busbar system A (Fig. I), there is a voltage drop from the busbars to point x, and different voltages prevail at the switches S 1 , S 2 , S 3 e v e 2 , e 3 , which are smaller the closer they are to the short circuit.
Fig. 2 shows a ring system in which the points O, O 1 are connected by a strong line and kept at the same potential. If a short circuit takes place at χ , the voltage drops from the ends of the line O, O 1 to χ , and voltages e 3 , e v arise at switches S 3 , S 4 The closer a switch is to the point of the short circuit , the lower the voltage.
This phenomenon has been used to protect electrical networks by connecting to the relevant places magnets have been used, which are excited by the voltage and whose time setting is "the same" throughout the network at the same voltage.
The lower the voltage, the faster the magnet works; as a result, those will work the fastest those closest to the short circuit, further away will not be able to complete their path.
On the armature of such a magnet, e.g. B. K 1 in Fig. 3, now act upward pulling magnetic forces, downward weight forces. The difference in these forces gives the acceleration with which the core descends and consequently influences the time.
■·>■According to the present invention, this force difference, which influences the speed, is regulated by a special monitoring magnet in such a way that when the monitoring magnet responds, the retraction force predominates, but is still significantly dependent on the voltage prevailing in each case, but that when it is released the magnetic attraction force predominates and the relay K. 1 returned to sleep. ■ ·> ■
Tritt nun eine3 to 5 show individual embodiments of this principle; 3 shows a mechanical coupling between the monitoring magnet M 2 and the actual working magnet M 1 . It is assumed here that the monitoring magnet M 2 is a main current magnet which responds when an inadmissible current strength is reached. As can be seen from FIG. 3, as long as the magnet M 2 has not responded, part of the weight of the core K 2 and the additional weight G is transferred by the lever H to the core K 1 in the sense that its Weight is decreased. The retraction force which acts on the core K 1 is therefore small as long as the coil M 1 is normally at full tension and therefore holds the core in the pulled-up state. Now kick a
Overload on, the core K 2 is pulled up, and now the full effect works weight of the core i £ x on this, the coil M 1 ! can no longer hold the core, and | it sinks while overcoming the damping D. The sinking happens faster, the lower the voltage prevailing at the magnet M 1, that is, with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the closer the magnet system in question is to the point of the short circuit.
If a certain time has elapsed after the response of the magnet M 2 , the core K 1 will have moved down a little, possibly, if the voltage is low enough, have already activated the contact C so that the switch-off has taken place. If, however, the voltage was higher, the core K 1 has not yet reached contact C , and the overload now ceases, for example when another switch connected in series switches off, the magnet M 2 releases its core K 2 , and this in conjunction with the weight G lifts the core A 1 up again by means of the lever H , whereby the recurring full tension may support the return movement.
If one were not to use the described mechanical reaction of the core K 2 on the core K 1 according to FIG. 3, either the tension coil would not be able to attract the already released core K 1 , or it would not release the tightened core if not the tension has decreased very considerably. However, since the protective device is not only intended to protect against the absence of voltage, that is, against the radical short circuit, it is desirable that the core K 1 sink down even at a relatively high voltage as soon as the monitoring magnet M 2 has responded.
In the foregoing, the difference between the forces acting on the core K 1 was mechanically influenced by the monitoring magnet M 2; this influencing can of course also take place electrically, as FIG. 4 shows. As long as it has not responded, magnet M 2 keeps a series resistor short-circuited in front of coil M 1 through contact C 2; this coil is so excited that it can pull its armature K 1 from its lowest position at normal voltage. If an overload occurs, the rising core K 2 opens the switch C 2 and the excitation of the coil M 1 is weakened. It should be pointed out, however, that, in contrast to known arrangements, the voltage coil M 1 is not switched off, but that it is only weakened.
In this way, the influence of the voltage prevailing at the point in question (FIGS. 1 and 2) is preserved for the duration of the movement of the core K 1, while when the coil M 1 is switched off, the core of all relays in the network fall at the same speed regardless of whether the voltage at the point in question is large or small.
The arrangement according to FIG. 4 has the property that it also works when the voltage remains, that is to say that it simultaneously represents a zero voltage release. In many cases this is not desirable because if there was no voltage in the control center, all the switches in the network would fall out as a result of this circuit. This undesirable side effect can be avoided in a known manner by canceling the effect of the working magnet as long as the monitoring magnet has not responded. According to FIG. 5, for example, a contact C 3 is attached to the monitoring magnet M 2 , which is connected in series with the contact C 3 of the working magnet M 1 and is located in a direct current line for the trip coil A. If the working magnet responds as a result of the absence of voltage, contact C 1 closes, but contact C 3 does not. If, on the other hand, both magnets respond, both contacts close and triggering takes place. Instead of this auxiliary circuit, in which the monitoring magnet controls the action of the working magnet even when the voltage remains, any other circuit can be used, e.g. B. the contact C 3 can remain if a current transformer is used instead of a direct current excitation. Then, if the voltage remains, the contact C 1 , which in this case would have to open a short circuit parallel to the tripping coil A , is opened, but the tripping coil cannot work because the current transformer feeding it does not emit any energy. Only in the event of an overload does the current transformer provide enough energy to trigger the trip.
In the previous remarks, magnets had always been mentioned, as well how the representations only related to two-wire networks. A transfer to others Forms of actuation of the electric current, e.g. B. thermal or induction systems, can effect themselves without further ado, likewise a modification for multi-conductor systems.
