Bleiverbindungen enthaltende Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombination für Formmassen auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombinationen
für Formmassen auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid bzw. im wesentlichen Vinylchlorid enthaltende
Mischpolymerisate mit einem Gehalt an mehrbasischen Bleiverbindungen .
Es ist bekannt, Polyvinylchlorid, hergestellt nach dem Suspensions-
oder· Blockpolymerisationsverfahren, mit basischen Bleiverbindungen wie dreibasischem Bleisulfat oder zweibasischem
Bleiphosphit oder zweibasischem Bleiphosphitsulfit
gegen den zersetzenden Einfluß von Wärme und Licht zu stabilisieren. Die Wirkung dieser Verbindungen kann durch den Zusatz
von Metallseifen, vorzugsweise neutralem oder basischem Bleistearat
und/oder Calciumstearat verbessert werden, üblicherweise
werden je nach Verwendungszweck Zusätze von Weichmachern, Gleitmitteln, Pigmenten, Füllstoffen und dergleichen zugegeben.
Sie bewähren sich bei der Herstellung von Rohren, Schläuchen, Profilen und Kabeln (Extrusionsverfahren) sowie bei der Herstellung
von Fittings und Formstücken (Spritzgießverfahren).
Zwar weisen die erwähnten bekannten Stabilisierungssysteme eine gute thermische Langzeitwirkung auf, Jedoch ist es als
äußerst nachteilig anzusehen, daß sie keine hellen und stabilen

Anfangsfarben bei den mit ihrer Hilfe hergestellten Formkörpern erzielen lassen. Außerdem sind die vornehmlich
eingesetzten Bleiseifen stark staubend und aus diesem Grunde gewerbehygienisch bedenklich.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung war es, solche Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombinationen
zu finden, die eine entscheidende Verbesserung der Anfangsfarben gegenüber den bekannten Kombinationen bringen und außerdem bei thermischer
Belastung eine gute LangzeitStabilität bewirken. Insbesondere sollte durch Zusätze die Wirksamkeit der Bleistabilisatoren
verbessert werden, wobei eine synergistische Wirkung angestrebt werden sollte. Durch Kombination der
Zusätze sollte unter anderem der Einsatz der toxischen Bleiseifen vermieden werden.
Die erfindungsgemäße Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombination für Formmassen auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid besteht im wesentlichen
aus einer Zusammensetzung, die enthält auf
a) 100 Gewichtsteile eines Partialesters des Pentaerythrits
und/oder Trimethylolpropans mit einer Fettsäure von 8 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen,
b) 15 bis 1500 Gewichtsteile einer mehrbasischen Bleiverbindung.
Die Partialester werden in an sich bekannter Weise durch Veresterung
des Pentaerythrits bzw. Trimethylolpropans mit Fettsäuren
einer Kettenlänge von 8 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen hergestellt. Dabei können übliche Katalysatoren mitverwendet werden.
Man führt die Reaktion so bzw. setzt die Reaktionsteilnehmer zur Veresterung in solchen Mengen ein, daß die Partialester
eine OH-Zahl zwischen 120 und 600, insbesondere I5O und 500
haben. Das Reaktionsprodukt stellt ein Gemisch verschiedener Ester dar und soll eine Säurezahl unter 15, insbesondere

unter 8 aufweisen. Geeignete Fettsäuren zur Herstellung der Partialester sind beispieleseise Capryl-, Caprin-, Laurln-,
Myristin-, Palmitin-, Stearin- oder Behensäure. Es können auch synthetische Fettsäuren der genannten Kettenlänge oder
auch ungesättigte Säuren, wie ölsäure, Linolensäure oder auch substituierte, wie Ricinolsäure oder Mono- bzw. Dihydroxy
Stearinsäure eingesetzt werden. Aus praktischen Gründen werden Gemische von Fettsäuren verwendet, wie sie aus natürlichen
Fetten und ölen gewonnen werden.
Als Bleistabilisatoren kommen zwei-, drei- und vierbasische Bleisulfate, zweibasisches Bleiphosphit bzw. -Phosphitsulfit,
evtl. auch basische Bleicarbonate und Phthalate in Betracht. Daneben können selbstverständlich auch neutrale fettsaure vorzugsweise
stearinsaure - Salze des Bleis und/oder Calciums sowie basische Bleiseifen eingesetzt werden.
Nach einer günstigen Ausführungsform können als weitere Verarbeitungshilfsmittel
noch freie Fettsäuren mit etwa 12 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen, Paraffine mit einem Erweichungsbereich
von etwa 50 bis 110° C, und/oder niedermolekulare Polyäthylensorten
mit einem Erweichungspunkt unterhalb l40° C sowie natürliche
oder synthetische Wachse erwähnt werden. Selbstverständlich können den Polymerisatmischungen auch übliche Weichmacher,
wie Dioctylphthalat, Dioctyladipat u.a.,so wie auch Pigmente, Farbstoffe und Füllstoffe (Kreide, Kieselsäure,
Kieselgur und dergl.) zugefügt werden.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Mischungen entfalten eine gute stabilisierende
Wirkung gegenüber Polyvinylchlorid, nachchloriertem Polyvinylchlorid oder Mischpolymerisaten des Vinylchlorids
mit einem überwiegenden Gehalt an Vinylchlorid. Als Mischpolymerisationskomponente
kommen neben Vinylestern, wie Vinylacetat insbesondere Acrylsäureester oder Vinylidenchlorid
infrage. Die Polymerisate bzw. Mischpolymerisate können nach

bekanntem Verfahren, wie der Suspensions- oder Blockpolymerisation
hergestellt sein. Ihr K-Wert kann zwischen etwa 35 und 8O liegen.
Es ist im allgemeinen hinreichend, zur Entfaltung einer guten Wirkung 0,5 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent, insbesondere
1 bis M Gewichtsprozent des erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Gemisches,
bezogen auf Polyvinylchlorid bzw. die genannten Mischpolymerisate zuzusetzen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Kombinationen können als Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombination
bei der Herstellung von Rohren, Profilen, Platten, Kabeln und sonstigen Halbzeugen im Extrusionsverfahren
eingesetzt werden. Sie eignen sich auch bei der Herstellung von Fittings und Formstücken durch Spritzgießen.
Es muß als überraschend angesehen werden, daß Fettsäurepartialester
des Pentaerythrits und des Trimethylolpropans zu
einer erheblichen Verbesserung der Thermostabilität führen. Der Effekt übertrifft die Wirkung von Partialestern des Glycerins
bei weitem, ohne daß es zu den bekannten nachteiligen Erscheinungen wie der Vergrauung durch Lichteinfluß kommt.
Der erfindungsgemäße Zusatz kann genutzt werden, um bei sonst unveränderter Rezeptur wesentlich bessere Anfangsfarben und
ein erheblich günstigeres Langzeitverhalten des Stabilisierungssystems zu erhalten oder, um den Gehalt an Primärstabilisatoren
bis zu 30 % zu reduzieren, und zwar bei unveränderter Langzeitstabilität,
aber dennoch verbesserter Anfangsfarbe.
Schließlich ist die Möglichkeit gegeben, auf den Einsatz der staubenden und toxischen Bleistearate zu verzichten, wenn man
die zur Stearatbildung nötige Menge Fettsäure zwecks Umsetzung mit dem basischen Primärstabilisator der Rezeptur zuschlägt,
d. h. die Reaktion der Fettsäure mit Blei-II-oxid im Mischaggregat bzw. in der Verarbeitungsmaschine vornimmt.

Die Wirkung der Stabilisatorkombinationen wurde anhand von
Walzfellen geprüft, wobei die sogn. statische Thermostabilität ermittelt wurde. Dazu wurde auf einem Laborwalzwerk 450 χ
220 mm (Fa. Berstorff) bei einer Walzentemperatur von 170° C und einer Walzendrehzahl von 12,5 üpra im Gleichlauf das Prüffell
hergestellt. Dann wurde in einem Trockenschrank (Heraeus PT 42OR) mit 6 rotierenden Aluminiumhorden und einer Temperatur
von 18O° C die Farbveränderung beobachtet. Alle 15 Minuten wurden Proben entnommen und begutachtet.
In den nachfolgenden Tabellen 1 bis 7 ist in Abhängigkeit vom eingesetzten Partialester zunächst die Anfangsfarbe angegeben
und dann die Zeit, nach der eine deutliche Änderung der Anfangsfarbe beobachtet wurde. Schließlich ist der Zeitpunkt angegeben,
bei dem der Test wegen starker Verfärbung abgebrochen wurde.
Es wurden die folgenden Partialester eingesetzt:
I Pentaerythritstearinsäureester
II Pentaerythritölsäureester
III Pentaerythritölsäureester
IV Pentaerythritcaprylcaprinsäureester
V Pentaerythrithydroxystearinsäureester
VI Trimethylolpropanmonohydroxystearinsäureester
VII Pentaerythritstearinsäureester

jedoch sind die der Mischungen 2 und 3 erheblich heller. An diesen Flachbandprofilen wurde zusätzlich die Thermostabilität
geprüft, deren Durchführung eingangs beschrieben wurde. Die erhaltenen Ergebnisse sind nachfolgender Tabelle 9

Claims (2)
1. Bleiverbindungen enthaltende Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombinationen
für Formmassen auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid, bestehend aus einer "Zusammensetzung, die enthält
auf
a) 100 Gewichtsteile eines Partialesters des Pentaerythrit
s und/oder des Trimethylolpropans mit einer Fettsäure von 8 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen
b) 15 bis 1500 Gewichtsteile einer zwei-, drei- oder vierbasischen Pb-Verbindung bzw. einer Kombination
dieser Pb-Verbindungen.
2. Stabilisator-Gleitmittel-Kombination nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Partialester des Pentaerythrits
und/oder des Trimethylolpropans eine OH-Zahl zwischen 120 und 600, insbesondere zwischen 150 und
hat und die Säurezahl unter 15, insbesondere unter 8 liegt.
