metallischer Werkstücke näher erläutert;
Method and device for automatic control of the tool spacing
when machining metallic workpieces The invention relates to a method
for automatic control of the distance between the tool and the workpiece surface
when machining metallic workpieces where the distance measurement is capacitive
acting measuring electrodes is carried out; the invention also relates to devices
To carry out such a method, the invention is hereinafter combined
with flame cutting
metallic workpieces explained in more detail;
the tool here is therefore a cutting nozzle0 for a flawless and clean one
Flame cut it is necessary that the distance between the workpiece surface
and the cutting nozzle (s) is kept largely constant. This is at
uneven workpieces or workpieces that are not lying horizontally without special measures
not guaranteed, If the nozzle distance is not readjusted in this case, comes
it leads to unclean flame cuts, this is now the case with machines with a large working area
or, if several cutting nozzles are used, readjusting the necessary nozzle spacing
practically only possible via an automatically operating distance control. It is
known to use a capacitive encoder as a distance meter, d0h.

insulated attached measuring electrode forms, while the opposite plate through
the surface of the metal workpiece to be cut is represented, The
Distance control now takes place in such a way that the electrode distance in the associated measuring amplifier
d via a measurement of the electrode capacitance C = £ ° F / d (& = dielectric constant,
F = electrode area, d = electrode spacing) is determined, this value of d becomes
then compared with a predetermined target distance value d setpoint and used as a control deviation
d-d5011 is fed to a controller. This control loop element then controls
a
Actuator for raising and lowering the cutting nozzles including measuring electrodes
is used so that the specified setpoint d - d5011 is reached, the cutting nozzle distance
is thus regulated by measuring the electrode spacing, a disadvantage
is in the water known type of distance control that a reduced control accuracy
must be accepted if a cut is to be made on the edge, doho
when the measuring electrode protrudes beyond the workpiece 1, in this case reduced
namely, the effectively effective plate area F of the measuring electrode, so that the
The measuring amplifier specifies a distance d * = d + # d *, which is greater than that actually
existing distance d is, this incorrect measurement has a readjustment from d to one
The result is a value that is smaller than d5011 by the value # d *, due to the small dimensions
the measuring electrode 2, this effect can be kept within certain limits,
but it still has an effect, especially with large depths of cut, one
require high control accuracy, very detrimental to the size of the workpiece waste
The invention is therefore based on the object of addressing the aforementioned disadvantage
overcome and develop a process that also works on the edge of a workpiece
precise regulation of the distance between the cutting nozzles and the workpiece surface
is made possible
It has now been shown that this task at
the aforementioned method can be solved in that in un indirect
A few additional, capacitive correction electrodes are placed near the measuring electrodes
are arranged, with the measurement signals via a known Kom pensationskreis
the distance control is constantly corrected, In a preferred embodiment
of the method according to the invention, both the measuring electrodes and the correction electrodes are used
designed in the form of electrodes which can be adjusted together in the distance control
and arranged in such a way that when flame cutting at the edge the difference between their over
surface parts located on the workpiece, corrected with certain factors, independently
from Randab stood the cutting nozzles can be kept constant, according to the invention
the measuring electrodes and the compensation electrodes in the form of centrally arranged
Full or partial circle electrodes, U-shaped electrodes or the like, be formed,
Further features, advantages and possible uses of the invention are evident
the following description of further details based on the attached figures
emerged
They show: FIG. 1 in a schematic representation a top view
onto a cutting nozzle, which is located above a metal plate, with the attached
Electrodes and the associated control circuit, FIG. 2 shows a partial illustration in side view
the arrangement according to Figure 1, Figure 3 in a representation similar to Figure i, however
only part of this arrangement, a further embodiment of the invention, and
FIG. 4 schematically simplified, the profile of further preferred electrode shapes.
so
Funktion des Randabstandes x.According to FIG. 1, there is the arrangement for flame cutting of metal plates
1 in principle from the cutting nozzle 3 with the associated measuring and correction electrodes
2, 7 and the control and correction circuit shown on the right in this figure, In
Connection with the partial representation Figure 2 is seen Lich that without the invention
Correction and compensation elements in the capacitive measurement of the distance d
between the cutting nozzle 3 and the plate 1 measurement errors and consequently errors in the
Distance control occur when the measuring electrode 2 when cutting the plate, such as
shown here, partially over the edge of the plate 1 hrnaustritt, according to the invention
is therefore - see again FIG. 1 - in addition to the actual measuring electrode 2
a correction electrode 7 is provided which, when cutting, also over the edge
of workpiece 1 protrudes O The electrodes 2 and 7 are now
so
shaped so that the difference between the surface fractions Fm located above the plate 1
and Fk is always constant regardless of the edge distance x, i.e. the following applies: Fm (x) - Kk / KmFk
(x) = constant with Kk / Km> O # const In this case it is at the correction electrode
7 applied measurement signals of the control deviation # d * = d * - d, the cause of which is the
Reduction of the effective plate area of the measuring electrode 2 is proportional,
This signal is therefore fed through a suitable adapter 8 in the
Control loop used to compensate for the control deviation td *. In Figure 1 is
this signal is fed into the setpoint / actual value comparison, so that at the input of the controller
5 the original control deviation d * - dsoll ad = d + ad * - d5011 - # d * = d-dsoll
applied 0 To compensate for this system deviation ßd *, the measuring signal is fed in
the correction electrode 7 but practically at any point in this control loop
possible In Figure 1, a comparator 9 and a switch 10 are shown, these
Elements have the effect that the compensation of the system deviation # d * only takes effect when
when the measuring electrode 2 has reached the edge of the workpiece, the comparison value is used for this purpose
d 'is set so that the switch 10 is now closed for x 2 0, this arrangement
but presupposes that the correction electrode 7 is a smaller distance from the edge
has as the measuring electrode 20
The compensation described above
the deviation t # d * presupposes that the difference is above the workpiece
The surface portions (Fk and Fm) located are always constant regardless of the edge distance x
is, in practice, however, the geometries of the measuring probe 2 are also used,
as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4, so z oB ring, half-ring or
U-shaped electrodes, with these electrode shapes it is advantageous to use the correction electrodes
7 'to be arranged centrally to the measuring electrode 2' In the case of an annular measuring electrode
this is a concentric ring (Figure 3). For such electrode shapes, the
There is, however, a difference between the surface portions Fm and Fk located above the workpiece
Function of the edge distance x.
Weise vom Flächenanteil Fk abhängt,The difference Fm (x) - Kk / Km Fk (x) is therefore no longer constant,
so that when using an adapter 8 'with a linear characteristic, i.e. constant
Gain factor Kk does not fully compensate for the control deviation hd *
more is possible. In this case, a corresponding non-linear characteristic can help
of the adapter 8 'thus has a characteristic whose gain factor Kk is more suitable
Depends on the area share Fk,
