Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The present invention relates to collecting mirror systems, particularly those which are suitable as condensers for microscopes. It consists in having four coaxial Rotational surfaces are arranged such that the central part of the incident beam onto a centrally arranged reflective surface of revolution and then onto a peripheral one specular surface of revolution meets, while the peripheral part meets the incident Rays from two other such surfaces is reflected in reverse order. The aim is to achieve the new advantageous effect in the use of the particularly simple means be seen.
In this case, the system consists of the two parts α and b cemented to one another, which enclose the cavity c. The cemented surface, which is drawn flat in both figures, can also be made spherical in a known manner, which can offer technical advantages under certain circumstances. The operation of the new device is illustrated by the beam path shown in the figures, and it can be seen that two of the mirror surfaces come into effect in pairs, in such a way that the entire aperture area is divided into two parts and the rays of one aperture area on the surfaces IV and III and the rays of the other are reflected on surfaces II and I.
These two areas are indicated in the figures to the right and left of the optical axis.
By switching on a diaphragm, one of the two aperture areas can be switched on as desired. or switch off the rays through a central screen on the entry side with a higher aperture on the exit side and the rays with a perforated diaphragm smaller aperture.
Nothing changes in the essence of the invention if in a known manner for improvement the correction one or more surfaces are made non-spherical.
