In particular, the invention relates to a heat-sensitive, water-resistant recording material, which is also characterized by high coagulation stability, d. H. characterized by good dispersibility and a texture that makes the material outstanding Give coating properties and recording properties.
A heat sensitive recording material! of the type mentioned is known from US-PS 35 39 375, which largely corresponds to JA-AS 14 039/70.
Heat-sensitive water-dispersible components for heat-sensitive recording materials are known from the Japanese Auslegeschriften 7 930/69 and 14039/70 and are under Use of polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, gum arabic, gelatin or a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer. Bring you with such materials If coated substrates come into contact with water or moisture, the recording coatings come off or become blotchy or the recordings already made on such layers become adversely affected in their recording quality. If, in addition, the known recording materials are applied to paper as the substrate material are, the entire recording medium becomes brittle and brittle by the influence of water or moisture unusable. These disadvantages have resulted in such recording materials in practice have hardly found entrance.
A search for a means of avoiding these drawbacks has been to waterproof the heat-sensitive A crosslinking hardener is added to the recording layer for the recording material, and for example formalin, glyoxal, chrome alum or a melamine-formaldehyde resin. The aforementioned Polymers could be made more water-resistant by adding hardeners of this type. Tries, however, it has been shown that these hardeners can also be used in connection with the heat-sensitive recording materials described below led to the dispersions produced for painting or coating the substrates as soon as they were mixed to agglomerate, the coloring of the thermosensitive recording materials under the action of heat to disturb, to discolor or discolor the developed recording images, and the textures of the recordings to become blotchy allow.
The invention is therefore based on the object of avoiding the disadvantages described To create heat-sensitive recording material, its originally water-soluble high molecular weight Compounds in the course of manufacturing the recording medium into a highly water-resistant one Form can be converted to the production of the recording layer in the frame the production of the recording medium has excellent processing properties, in particular one has good dispersibility and a pronounced agglomeration inhibition and that has a recording layer with an appealing texture and with appealing and high-quality recording quality differences between the

A mixture of these liquids A, B, C, D and E was applied to a polyethylene-coated paper (50 g / m 2 ) in such an amount that the weight per unit area of the coating after drying was 5 g / m 2 . The recording medium obtained in this way exhibited excellent water resistance particularly with regard to its recording layer. The resistance to background discoloration of the coating compound, under the influences, in particular under the influences of pressure, of the manufacturing process was remarkable.

vorstehend benutzten Härters und mit 0,4 g eines oberflächenaktiven Mittels versetzt.hardener used above and mixed with 0.4 g of a surface-active agent.
The first mixture was coated onto normal paper with a weight of 50 g / m 2 in such an amount that the coating had a basis weight of 4 g / m 2 after drying. The second mixture was then applied to this layer as a second layer in an amount of 6 g / m 2 area dry weight. Thus, there was obtained a two-color thermosensitive recording medium excellent in water resistance and texture and practically non-colored. The heat-sensitive layer made with these recording materials recorded in about 12O 0 C in blue color and in the range of 140 to 15O 0 C in red color.
